    Hey Shoe!

I've been out of the loop for a bit, stumbled upon your website and have been using the pack for a few days now. I like what you've done with it, feels a lot more cohesive. Looking forward to the development. :)

I've gone for the block texture by "Ezanrki"

You can easily add that texture to your customized pack. From the customizer page, right click on each of the textures you want and "Save image as..." then open up your texture pack .zip and navigate to \assets\minecraft\textures\blocks\

First, make sure you re-name the files you downloaded to hay_block_top.png and hay_block_side.png respectively and then just drop them into that \blocks\ folder.

A bit more work but that will work until the customizer is updated.

My map won't load in the AMIDST file, I type in my seed, then it just sits there?

I'm having this problem too. I used it a couple days ago and it worked fine. Launched today and every time I try to load from file or enter a seed I just get the white screen like I didn't do anything at all.

Minecraft 1.5 but also tried with 1.4.x worlds

posted a message on Best value when enchanting books
The problem with enchanting books is it increases the list of possible enchants you can get. For example, if I enchant a pickaxe, I can only get Efficiency, Unbreaking, Fortune or Silk Touch. By enchanting a book, you can get any enchant there is. What if you only want Fortune, though? You're probably better off just enchanting a pickaxe in this case.

I, for example, have more than an entire double chest full of enchanted books and have yet to see a single Fortune enchant of any level.

There are some things that books are better, or even necessary, to do. Such as Unbreaking on armor, can only be applied through an enchanted book. However, for tools I think it's best off just doing the enchant onto the tool itself. There's also another reason for this...

When you repair an item with the anvil, each "item" you use to repair it (each diamond, for example) repairs 25% durability. In the case of a pickaxe, this means that 3 diamonds will only repair 75% of the item's durability. Alternatively, you could make an entire pickaxe with those 3 diamonds, and if you get a bad enchant, just use it to repair a "good" pickaxe for extra durability since it repairs it to 100%. Unless it has a conflicting enchant (Silk Touch can't be used to repair a Fortune pick, etc.).

In the case of armor, 3 diamonds is a lot less than the full price of the piece. A chest, for example, is 8 diamonds and only needing 3 to repair 75% of that is very efficient.

I think the ender chest is great. If I were to be picky, I'd say the green strap could be tweaked somehow. I tried mirroring the shading vertically really quick.

    Before and After

Also trim the extra pieces to save a few bytes:

Needs a little cleaning up and probably lightening on the strap if you go that route, but just a thought.

    Hey Shoeboxama,

I tried that Better Skies texture. Went from a stable 331 to 308 frames per second after chunk loading finished. Obviously not a problem for me, but just thought I'd share my experience. Small 7% performance hit unless something else was going on. People on slower computers should definitely post your experience too.

As for the texture, it is very cool but maybe a bit too busy for Soartex? I think it's the variety of colors that makes me see it that way, possibly too much? Also, it doesn't tile well so when it repeats there's a noticeable line in the sky. The concentration of stars on one edge is too high.

I'll mess around and see if I can make one better suited to my tastes. Also I'll try a higher resolution (more performance hit, yay) to see if it gets less blurry.

P.S. Shoe, are you including your water texture in the base pack?

Oh of course it is my lad :3

He's referring to it still being in a window.

Afraid I can't help, fullscreen and Minecraft have never worked well for me. These days I can't take screenshots if I'm in fullscreen, it just gives an error.

Can you please keep that drivel out of this thread? This is about the mod if you hadn't noticed.

Nope. Didn't you hear? They started digging into the ground under the hotel in Vegas. They made the mistake of digging straight down and fell into a big cave. Nobody brought wood to make ladders (no trees in the desert) so they're stuck. Never coming back.
