posted a message on [ PANDORACRAFT ] Vanilla Survival Minecraft Server for Mature Members Only! (Whitelisted, Updated 1.9!)

    -Minecraft In-game name: SpringBean

    -Age: 16

    -Country of residence?: US, PST

    -E-mail Adress*: [email protected]

-How long have you played minecraft?: I've been into minecraft since alpha 1.1

-Youtube channel, and do you plan on recording?*: My youtube channel hasn't got minecraft on it yet, but if this server is a lot of fun I'd be happy to record.

-Expected amount of playtime on Pandoracraft(weekly): I can play for ~1-5 hours per day.

-What do you excel, and fail at in minecraft?: I'm fairly familiar with all elements of the game, however risk vs reward situations don't bring out the best in me. I'm not great at 'surviving', but I enjoy nothing more than building a community with people.

-Tell me about yourself!: I began by watching youtubers like paulsoaresjr, and finally bought it in beta 1.2. From there I began playing terraria, civ, and a variety of other games however I've always come back to minecraft for the adventure and adventure that's possible with people. Also I've yet to find a game that I feel like I have as much freedom in.

-Any other information I should know?: Outside of gaming I'm going into physics and neuroscience. I like to think I can always be friendly to people and welcome newcomers well, and I enjoy being a part of a server.

    Thanks.

Would you record? I could if I really like this server

Why do you wish to join? I'd like to join a small community and survive together, I play every day and can help new players find their way. I want to enjoy minecraft the way it felt for many in beta... Not much of a lone survivor. Thanks.

posted a message on Looking to buy a new microphone/headset
My headset works fine for hearing things, Turtle Beach x12. Been using it for years, however I'd like to do some creative videos that require a better microphone than it comes with, I'd like to be able to use the microphone for gaming too, so not too in the way. Any idea what this would be? My budget is $100 but I may be able to push it if it solves most of my needs. Thanks in advance.

Plug your headset into the back port on your PC. It might be interference from power cables.

Yes, it's been known to happen.

    It worked, thanks.

So you tried it with non-TB headsets?

How about you need to acquire a new headphone that doesn't sound like the helicopter?

    I did, didn't change anything.

posted a message on For 2 years whenever I'm speaking with friends over skype or TS they can hear a "helicopter" noise from my microphone.
I've done everything, google down 20 pages, fiddle with my boost settings, get a new sound card, my ram thing is 550, tried other headsets beside my Turtle Beach X12, but I don't think that's what's wrong anyway, got a new Turtle Beach X12.

So everytime I do anything computer intensive, like a game, then my mic begins buzzing to my friends and they complain, even when I'm watching a youtube video in 1080p I need to increase my teamspeak microphone detection so they can't hear it as well. I have a theory, I believe it's my computer fan somehow leaking into it. Like the wires are too close to the fan and it's making it buzz, so I fiddles with wires trying to further them from the big fan but it didn't really do anything. If that's a likely problem I'll take it to bestbuy and try fixing it. My computer specs shouldn't be a problem, I got an asus premade computer for about $500 and replaced the graphics card with a GTX 660ti.

Anyone who can figure this out will have my eternal thanks lol.

posted a message on Dual monitors problem
    Quote from fm87

Yeah, there's nothing really 'at fault' here. This is just how windows (linux and OSX do this as well) and display drivers have always handled multiple monitors.

Programs will "open" on the last monitor they were closed on (usually, exceptions being programs that do not store the last window location such as MPC, and all games will always launch on the primary monitor) though this isn't that big of a deal since you can just drag it to the top of w/e monitor you are looking at and have it right there, maximized.

This is because the game is in "fullscreen" mode, which takes away focus from the desktop etc.

    It's always been like this.

See above. It's always been like this.

90% of programs will launch on the primary monitor. This is also the monitor near 100% of games will launch on. If they are not launching on the main monitor, you must have used them previously on the other monitor, which is where they were last closed, so they launch there.

    Again, always been like this.

Thanks for the reply, I just assumed it had more customization and functionality I guess.

posted a message on Dual monitors problem
So I just bought 2 monitors with limited knowledge on how to use them, so I googled around and got some software to help, but I still have a few little issues that are going to need solving. So I got Dual Monitor Tools, and Dual Monitor Taskbar to allow me to have a second taskbar on the other monitor, however it leads to some issues:

    1. I pinned chrome on the other taskbar and when I launch it it launches on the first monitor, not sure how to fix this.

    2. Whenever I launch a game or application it makes the other monitor go black for a few seconds like the first, which is annoying
    3. When I'm in a game or application and I use my hotkey to switch between screens it tabs me out on the first monitor and makes both screens go black for a few seconds as if I ALT+TAB'd..
    4. The second monitor doesn't seem to be individualized, I can't make certain programs launch on that one in particular upon startup, and overall it seems very connected to this monitor. And I really want it to be it's own thing.

    Thanks in advance!
Let me know if there's any more information you need.

EDIT: The taskbar is the same as well, if I launch an app on one it does the same for the other.

posted a message on Dual monitors, what monitor to buy?
    Quote from logoster

neither resolution nor brand matter's, so you should be able to just get another 1680x1050, or one with a higher resolution, and pair it with your current monitor with no problems

Can you recommend any monitor in specific? Everything I see costs upwards of 400..

posted a message on Dual monitors, what monitor to buy?
Currently I have a 1680x1050 monitor, and want a second. However I know next to nothing about dual monitors, I have a GTX 660ti so I can handle 2, but my price range isn't infinite. Do I need the monitors to match or can I just get another 1680x1050, and if I want a higher resolution do I need two of the same, and can I get everything I need for under 200?
Let me know any more information you need, thanks in advance.
