• 64-bit Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium
• Intel Core i5-2500 quad-core processor (3.3GHz, 6MB cache)
• 8GB DDR3-1333MHz SDRAM (2 DIMMs)
• 1TB 7200 rpm SATA hard drive
• 2GB DDR3 NVIDIA GeForce GT 530
• 2011x 20" LED Monitor
Let me note that I am aware the 530 is not the best GPU on Earth. This is a prebuilt HP computer. As I've mentioned in a few earlier posts, I'm not interested in building my own PC.
So on a scale of 1 to 5, what would you rate this computer for browsing the internet, editing documents, watching HD videos and playing MC.
I'm not looking to buy one; I just recently purchased a new computer.
Even if I was in the market for a good gaming PC, I wouldn't build it. I don't have the time, patience or skills for that.
Digital Storm specializes in high performance, hand built gaming PCs for a pretty penny. I'm no techie by any definition, but even to me they seem pretty nice.
I just wanted to get some more educated computer enthusiasts opinion.
An integrated graphics chip (even Intel HD) would do all those things perfectly well. You probably don't need a seperate graphics card if that really is all you're doing. Although since you're on MCforums I presume you also play minecraft, which the card will be useful for.
I do play some light Minecraft on a 16 or 32 bit texture. Any ideal card for that?
For "everyday computing" it's mostly irrelevant, depending on what you classify as "everyday computing".
You're talking about graphics cards, so they will mostly be of use for 3D gaming/modelling or video editing.
Well, I'm not as tech-savvy as I'd like to be. I don't even know what a graphics card DOES. I figure it just, you know, displays stuff.
Everyday computing to me is surfing the web, editing documents, watching videos, listening to music, etc.
I'm working on building a high-performance gaming PC right now and I just had one quick question.
Which of the following graphics cards do you think will do best with Minecraft?
1GB DDR3 AMD Radeon HD 7570
2GB DDR3 NVIDIA GeForce GT 530
3GB DDR3 NVIDIA GeForce GT 545
2GB DDR3 AMD Radeon HD 7570
1GB DDR3 AMD Radeon HD 7670
1GB DDR5 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti
1GB DDR5 Radeon HD 6850
I have 10GB DDR3-1333MHz SDRAM and Intel Core i7-2600 quad-core processor with Turbo-Boost [up to 3.8GHz, 8MB cache] already figured out, I just can't decide on the card.
I was trying to think of some creative names earlier.
It's hard.
Anything with the word 'craft' should be out; it's overused.
You need something that is original and catchy.
NvSp is original, but not too catchy.
What about "Emagination?"
'E' in e-mail stands for electronic, a game might be described as electronic. Imagination means the ability of mind to be creative or resourceful. The idea is for the server's members to use their imagination, yes?
The name itself is imaginative!

I've heard that before, but when I look at the videos listed above... I get spooked.
I might try it one day.
Even if I could do it, I have no need to. All I ever do if surf the web, edit documents, watch videos and occasionally play MC.

And what wins in 2GB DDR3 NVIDIA GeForce GT 530 vs. 2GB AMD Radeon HD 7570?

Five pages of applications.
It looks like the server is going to have a fairly grand opening.

Might be a good idea. ;p
