After a few weeks of being busy and having no clue how I wanted to edit this, I finally have it done.

    ----OOC Info----
    -Minecraft IGN:
    SpaztasticMoose

-Skype name (Optional, for server OOC chat): None

-Do you have any prior roleplay-related experience, if so could you give an example?

Some, as far as RP with other people is concerned, I played a bit on a server called Rise of Kings, though that was a few years ago. Other than that, I have played a few RPGs such as, Divinity: Original Sin, Pillars of Eternity, and Skyrim.

-Define Power-gaming in your own words:

Power-Gaming is when you have your character act in ways that they shouldn’t be able to such as, building a huge castle by yourself, or going *Runs up behind you and stabs your brains out killing you instantly*. Things that are unrealistic and unfair.

-Define Meta-gaming in your own words:

Meta-Gaming is when you use outside information that your character wouldn’t normally know to solve a problem presented to them. An example could be like, your character comes across a puzzle and while IRL you may know the solution, your character, seeing it for the first time, would have no clue how to solve it. They would have to spend some time with it before coming up with a solution.

-Define Role-Playing in your own words:

I would define roleplaying as you immersing yourself into a specific place and taking on the persona of someone else, being mindful of what they would and would not know and could or could not do, acting as you believe they would act in any given situation.

    ----IC Info----
    -Character name:
    Aymon Keltris

    -Character race: High-Elf

    -Character gender: Male

    -Character age: 32

    -Character Occupation: None

    -Character description:

You see a man walking down the street. You put him around 7 feet tall, with a slim build. He has straight, shoulder length golden hair, long pointed ears, a short well-kept beard along his jaw-line, pale gold eyes, and fair skin. An average High-Elf, and like all his kind, you find it impossible to tell just how old he is.

He wears typical adventurers gear that’s dark-grey in color. Most of it looks old, and about half a size too large. The leather is paling and scratched, the buckles are dull and dingy, there’s a broken strap on his left vambrace, and the cloth is a bit loose and faded. On his back is a brown leather pack that’s just as faded as the rest of his gear.

    -Character personality and traits:

    <Good>

    • Accepting: Unlike most of his kind, his father taught him to accept the other races as equals. Though Aymon has a few exceptions.

    • Loyal: He didn’t have many friends growing up, and is slow to make new ones, but to the friends he does have, he is very loyal.

    • Merciful: If he were to come across an injured person or animal, he would try to help as much as he could. And if forced to fight, he would be quicker to take prisoners or let someone flee, than deliver a killing blow. Aymon does have limits though.

    <Neutral>

    • Adventurous: Due to not being able to leave the city of Barkamsted for most of his life (because of the Pact War raging on outside the walls, and the Hell crisis that followed shortly after) he longs to travel the world and would jump at the first chance he got.

    • Slow to trust: Due to a betrayal by someone he thought was his friend, he has grown slow to trust new people.

    • Prefers not to fight: When given the choice, he would rather try and talk his way out of sticky situations than resort to violence.

    • Bookworm: He can be found many nights with his face inside of a book.

    • Note taker: During travels, he can be seen taking notes and sketching various things that he comes across.

    <Bad>

    • Loathing: After the death of his father by Pact forces, to this day he despises all races that were associated with the Pact. These are some of the only people who he would rather kill than help or release.

    • Vengeful: He hates any who have either betrayed him, or harmed someone he cares for.

    -Character biography:

Aymon was an only child born to the Keltris family in Barkamsted. Their family wasn’t well known in any way, and much of their history was lost during the Pact’s invasion of their homeland. They consisted of Mages on his father’s side, and Alchemists on his mother’s. Their family was just one of many that had fled to the growing settlement on the other side of the Saltwater Swamp.

Once there, his mother set up a small potion shop that was run out of their home, and his father would often leave to help with defenses. Aymon learned a few basics about Alchemy from his mother, mostly about what certain plants could be used for and how to identify them, but he was always more interested in learning Magic. Though with his father gone so often, there was very little time for him to learn it. So, he just stayed at home, helping his mother with the shop.

As time went on, he grew tired of being stuck in the city, he wanted to leave and see the world. To travel to unexplored places, and find long forgotten treasures; but with the war raging on, he couldn’t, and so his mother would buy him books to try and satisfy that thirst for adventure. It kept him busy, but it wasn’t the same, and he started spending more and more time away from home, darting between roads and alley, playing with his friends, and imagining his own adventures.

One day though, his father returned with news that he would be staying for some time, and Aymon jumped at the chance to ask him to teach him magic. His father agreed, and his training began. The process was slow, and only lasted a few days at which point his father believed he was ready for his own Trinket, one that he would never receive.

His father had left late in the night to meet his brother across the Swamp who had a small collection of Trinkets, but he would never make it there. His body was found a few days later by an Alliance scout, saying that Pact forces had killed him. The news was crushing, and served to increase the already great hatred Aymon felt towards the Pact. But while he wanted to go and fight, he felt that he needed to stay home with his grieving mother.

Now, 16 years later, the war against the Pact has ended, and so has the war against Hell that followed shortly after. These days, Aymon prepares himself as he tries to join both the Mages Guild, to follow in his father’s footsteps, and the Explorers guild, to finally travel the world.

-Please give us a short RP response to these two scenarios:

You’re walking around the markets at around noon. There’s a lot of people around you, still gathering their items as they prepare to shut down their many stands. Suddenly you feel a gentle lifting of your coin purse as a child graces you and soon after they take off sprinting. You have been robbed.

“Hey!” Aymon yells as he bolts after the child, weaving swiftly through the crowd. Being much taller, and quicker, he closes the distance, and grabs the back of the child’s shirt.

“I believe that belongs to me.” He says as he yanks the pouch out of the child’s hands.

“Let go of me!” The child demands, trying to squirm out of Aymon’s grip. He ponders for a moment, then, while still holding the child, he removes a couple silver from the pouch, and hands them to the kid.

“Here, now stay out of trouble.”

With that, he lets the child go, who takes off into a side alley. Aymon then places his coin pouch in his pack, and heads home.

You’re heading back to the city through the woods when you hear a whining coming from nearby. Upon further investigation, you come across a grey-colored wolf that appears to have its leg caught in a bear trap. Around it is three smaller lumps of fur, obviously puppies belonging to the trapped mother. Without help, they’ll all die, but wolf skins are quite valuable too, not to mention that the nearby farms suffer quite a bit from the wolf population.

Aymon glances trough the bushes at the trapped mother and its pups, trying to decide whether to kill them or not. After a moment, he finds that he can’t bring himself to harm them, and decides to try and help.

He crouches down low, and circles around to its injured leg as quietly as he can. He slowly approaches. The mother sees him, and begins to growl. He pauses for a second then continues much slower, his arms beginning to reach for the bear trap. The mother snaps at him and he quickly backs up a few steps.

“I just want to help.” He whispers, though he knows the wolf doesn’t understand him.

Then he continues forward, towards the trap, reaches down, and starts to open it. The process is harder than he thought, but after a few moments, he gets it open enough for the wolf to remove its leg, and after it’s clear, Aymon let’s go, and the trap snaps shut with a metallic, ting!

“There, now please don’t eat me.” And he begins to slowly back away. The mother looks at him, then turns and starts to limp away, its pups following close behind. Aymon stands and starts back towards the city.

    Extra notes:

Again, please give me feedback on anything that needs to be edited.

    ______________________________________________________________________________
-Magic Biography; Explain the reason you want your character to have magic through backstory application:

“All right son, for generations our family has had the gift, the ability to use magic. Now it’s time to see if you can. We’ll start with something simple.” His father says, bringing out a small candle.

“Fire is just one of many aspects, and one that most in our family can control. Which makes it the first one we’ll test. And don’t worry if you can’t control it, your grandfather couldn’t, so the first he learned was lightning. Just be patient, and focus. Think of fire, think of what you want to do with it.”

As he finishes saying this, he glances at the candle, and waves a hand in front of it. A faint, orange mist forms in his palm and moves towards the wick, which ignites in an orange flame.

“You see?” He asks. “Simple.” He then puts out the flame with his fingers, and takes off his ring, handing it and the candle to Aymon.

“What’s the ring for?” Aymon asks.

“It’s a Trinket,” his father replies. “It’s used to help focus a person’s magic. If you want to be a Mage, you have to have one. Otherwise you'll just look like a fool waving his arms around."

Aymon smiles, then puts on the ring, and copies his father’s gesture, trying to imagine a small flame. He sits there, trying to focus. A few minutes pass with no sign that the candle will light.

    “Nothing’s happening.” Aymon complains.

“Just be patient, barely anyone gets it on their first go. It sometimes helps to close your eyes and picture it in your head.” His father says, encouragement in his voice.

Aymon sits there focusing once again on the candle, then closes his eyes. He tries to ignore everything, and thinks of the light, and the warmth, picturing a fire in his mind, and the candle burning. Half an hour passes and still nothing, Aymon getting increasingly more agitated. And then a slight warmth comes from the ring, and a strange sensation fills his body. He hears his father chuckle a bit, then he opens his eyes.

Before him, he sees the candle, only now, it’s lit. A tiny red flame, dancing on the short wick. He smiles from ear to ear, too excited to speak.

“Like I said, patience,” his father says with pride as he pats Aymon on the back. “Now, get some rest. Tomorrow we’ll practice some more, and in a few days, I’ll go to my brother and get you a Trinket of your own.” And with that, he takes back the ring, puts out the candle, hugs Aymon tightly, and walks to the door.

“Good night, Aymon,” he says, then he leaves the room, closing the door slowly behind him.

-Please give an example in your own words describing the limitations placed upon those who use magic:

There are limits to what mages can and can’t do. First, they’re limited by how much energy they have. If they overexert themselves, they can suffer injuries ranging from a simple headache, to death. However, through practice, they can use more magic as their skills and knowledge of it increases. Next, they can’t perform magic without having a trinket on them. Also, each race is limited to a specific number of magical aspects that they can have, and if the mage doesn’t have the correct aspect, they can’t use that type of magic. Mages will also find it very difficult to use magic during combat, they can also be strained if they try to use more than one aspect at a time.

-Please give a description of the magic system in your own words:

The magic system doesn’t use specific spells or incantations, instead using a person’s own magical ability to perform certain actions. In addition, all mages require the use of an artifact or “Trinket” without which, they can’t perform magic. There are various levels of quality to trinkets, and the better the quality, the more powerful it’s effects are. Each race is limited to a specific number of aspects, and each of these aspects allow the mage to use certain forms of magic. Example: A mage with the aspect of fire will be able to use fire magic.

-You are given a weak trinket of <Fire>, you haven't had much practice with magic yet, but you will try your best. Describe some things you could/would do with this trinket

The most that Aymon could do with a weak fire trinket would be things such as: Lighting candles, torches, etc. And while yes, fire can be a great offense, he would use it more for its practical uses and defense.

You start with one aspect only. You gain the rest of them (How ever many your race may have) of your own choice through further RP, however you will not be able to obtain them immediately.

To Darklight66675, I know you didn't do it, but no one else did either, I am moving all my stuff from my old base to a new location I've picked out for myself. I do appreciate the concern though, I would have been furious if someone was in the process of stealing everything I had, but they aren't, it's just my way of getting everything over to the new place all at once. :) -SpaztasticMoose
