Lyudmila stretches her arms and looks around.
"Anyway, where did Gwen run off to?"

The trail of her footprints is stark and clear, though not moving towards any specific location. Her boots really ripped up the ground.

Vernon keeps his his head bowed as to prevent his head from scraping the the top of the tunnel, he has one hand on Ki's shoulder, his other occupied with the candle.

Ace walks silently through the tunnel, standing stiff and straight in stark contrast to Vernon's hunched posture. Their hood doesn't even scrape the ceiling.

"Hm. Could I join...you all in your search...? she asks.

"If the others don't mind," they say, shifting to peer through the house's damaged door.

"People...if they pay attention to what is going on, are bound to know something, right?" she replies, taking note of this.

"We don't," they say curtly, turning away. "We are searching for the cause, though."

"Looking around this strange place. Strange weather, changes on a dime." she replies, she took a slight step back though. Realizing she would clearly be overpowered here.

"What makes you think you'll find answers here?" they ask, tilting their head inquisitively. Something is strange about their face, under the shadow of their hood, but she can't tell what.

The figure sees that her hair seems to be mainly red, with yellowish stripes going across it. Her eyes seem to be a rather calmish blue with a slight orangey hue to them. She has a sort of leather armour, her boots seem to be rather black with a slight pink highlight at the heel. With a brown bag strung over her back, she also carries a sort of sledgehammer with 2 points on either side, its lowered though. She looks nervous, but also slightly intrigued.

Their eyes flick over her for a second. Quietly, they take a few steps towards her. "What are you doing here?" they ask, tonelessly.

She raises her hand and nervously dispells the fireball, it gets smaller and smaller until it vanishes completely. The flames shoot up into the air and then vanish. She keeps her light ball though.

The point vanishes, and she sees a flicker of movement as whatever it is darts away. The figure turns slightly to look her over with eyes like sinkholes.

She looks down at them, holding her light and fireball rather carefully. She doesn't make a move, yet. Waiting to see what happens next.

One of the figures standing outside the house turns their head, very slightly.

She suddenly feels a sharp point on her throat.

She is confused as to how those people got across, she stands there rather smugly for a second and then crouches down to touch one hand into the water. The water in her general area starts to drop in temperature rapidly, in the other hand, a fiery orange ball forms next to the light one. She repeats this process, forming a bridge of ice across the water to this island. Sometimes she would dispel the heat into the air above her. She reaches the island and watches the people there intently.

She feels attention sharply shifting to her as she steps on the island, though there's no immediate movement. The pebbles at her feet shift slightly.

As Jord attempts to sway the frightened man in a likewise way, Vernon accepts Ace’s endeavor to try and coax the man further without the need for hostility.

“Have another try if you want, but if he doesn’t comply, I’m moving in. I’m not wasting my time standing out here all day.”

    Quote from Darthrafael»

"I don't know, and I don't want to know!" The man shouts from inside the house. "That accursed witch and her friends attacked us, stole our keys, killed my friends and left me for dead!"

Ace walks forward, shoving Jord aside in an unceremonious manner. They raise their hands and slam them into the door, making it rattle in its frame.

“You seem to be having difficulties, friend,” they say, uncaringly. “Your key is lost. Your friends are dead. You have failed, and you will die, be it by the hands of the witch or by those of your own masters. You will die if you attempt to retrieve your key and you will die if you stay your hand.”

They take a step back. “What I am offering you is a choice. You can come with us, the only beings in this town who might be able to protect you. You can help us find the witch and your key. Or you can cower, waiting for your inevitable execution before being dumped, unmourned, into the river.”

They turn to walk away. “I recommend you choose quickly.”

It is now clear that the more gentler methods of persuasion will not suffice in this matter, and Vernon turns his attention to both Jord and Ace, proposing the same tactic he mentioned to Uyir. He simultaneously pulls a dagger from his belt sheath.

    Quote from Zyngard»

Uyir turns to Vernon, seemingly thinking for a little bit, before replying, quietly enough only Vernon can hear "...I personally do not approve of the methods used by most, but I...do understand the necessity if targets can't be made to talk using gentle persuasion"

"No. I don't want anything to do with the keys anymore. I lost my two best friends because of them. Both held other keys, both were killed because of them, by that Witch and that Puppeteer.

Ace shakes their head, though the motion is hard to make out under their hood. "Uncouth," they say. "And I doubt it will work."

They rock back and forth on their heels, rustling their ragged cloak. "Allow me to try, first. There is no need to dirty our hands with blood."

Femmell widens her eyes questionably at Lyudmila's suggestion. "Kill bird, hunter still live." As she spoke a dark figure appeared not 20 meters from the group. They were tall, dressed in a black hooded robe, face hidden, hands sheathed in their sleeves. Upon their arrival, their rattled voice can be heard, speaking the name, "Anne". In concert with the speaking of the name, four other voices are heard, each one different, alerting the group that they had been surrounded by the dark figure and three other unseen persons.

Gwen flinches, attempting to make herself very small. Her bird flutters its wings frantically, and she lets it go.

Suddenly, she's gone, save for the prints of her boots, leading away.

Annie is unable to resist a small grimace toward Gwen, evidently seen on the dragons face, yet she turns her eyes to the Pigeon in the hope the look will come off as nothing more than seeing the bird as potential food.

Annie glides to the ground, trusting in Chisille’s instinct to protect other dragons. Nevertheless, she makes it clear to Gwen that she intends no harm by keeping a wide birth, stepping in a sideways manner in the direction of Chisille, who she comes nose to nose with, cautious, careful, nonthreatening, sniffing as if curious to inspect another of her own kind. The inspection last but a moment before Annie speaks, her words soft and unassuming.

“I am… Femmell. Lost for long time.” Her eyes divert to the rabbits that Lyudmila is laying out on the sheet, but her hungered diversion soon turns to a more guarded look around the area, as if expecting danger to arrive at any moment. “You need to be careful - I’m telling you now, a hunter is after me. He is close… I’m scared.”

    Quote from 9314265068»

Chisille watches as Annie glides to the ground with her continued feeling of excitement. Unlike what would happen if a human approached her, she walks just that little bit more towards her as she closes the gap. Her eyes occasionally glance over to Gwengolyn as well, noticing that she looks far angrier then when they first met up. 'That better not be how she truly feels about me. Running... is no really an option, with those that would have to go find me if I did. A fight might break out. I don't want that.' she thinks to herself.

When Annie was close enough to Chisille, close enough that they were almost touching noses she almost perfectly mimicked what Annie was doing, sniffing her over in examination, taking in her appearance and crushing the last bit of doubt that this was not a replica of her. She was exactly the same, down to the slightly twisted scale at the end of her tail.

As Femmell explains who she is, she seems to act anxious, as if looking for something. Chisille grows more worried when she mentions there is now a hunter after her. There always is. Even in the wilderness there are hunters searching for whatever they can get their hands on. "Who's the hunter? Know what they look like? Don't... don't worry, hunters less likely to attack groups. I think..." she said as she looked around a bit as well. Her spine tingled a bit in nervousness.

    Quote from Pandolen»

Betty doesn't really pay too much mind to the obvious fact that both dragons look exactly alike, after all, they were the first two dragons she'd ever seen in her gosh darn life, so there really wasn't much to go comparing the situation to. But she is more or less happy about how the two little dragons are becoming acquainted, folding her arms and rolling from heel to toe as she watches them pleased and smiling. But she sure didn't gosh darn like hearing about the hunter. That presented a big fat problem, because if there was a hunter around, then this new little dragon had more than likely led him right to them, putting her cute little friend Chissy directly in harms way.

"You know what guys! Lyudmila has been kind enough to prepare a little picnic layout for us all, so I think it's time we had ourselves a bite to eat." And that was pretty much all Betty could think of to say, for a change, hoping at the very least that a quick meal would help take those little dragon minds off the prospect of a hunter lurking close by.

But you know, when all is said done, there wasn't any gosh darn hunter about to threaten the life of her dear little scaly friend and get away with it. That much was for certain!

On another note, hundreds of years in the future, on some other continent, and possibly even in some alternate reality, Betty's dad, Ezmonareus Copupius Ozllin (although everyone just called him Ezmond), realized that he hadn't seen or heard from his darling Betty girl for going on near a whole day. Now I don't have to tell ya just how strange that was to Ezmond, since Betty had one of the biggest talking mouths in whole wide world, which made it kinda hard for him not to notice if she had been around. So he went all around the farm asking everyone including the casual field hands if they'd seen his darling Betty anywhere, but nope, not a soul had heard from that darling Betty girl since yesterday! Needless to say, Ezmond thought that was really bad, making him very upset and concerned and stuff, and he right there and then launched a universal search for his little darling bigmouth daughter.

On top of all that, Betty's 18th birthday was coming up, but I guess that's not really the point.

    Quote from Darthrafael»

"Very true. Lunch is ready to eat, so let's not wait for long and eat!" Lyudmila says cheerfully as she sits down in the snow.

Gwen drops to one knee, but doesn't sit. She continues to hold the pigeon to her chest with one hand as she eats, slowly, her eyes not leaving the dragons. Every time she blinks, their pupils are a different size.

Vernon sighs, shaking his head, gives an eye roll to his company.

"Look!" He yells back through door. "We aren't looking for trouble. We want whatever is haunting you to end as much as you do. You aren't alone. I've lost many loved ones in this town... and I need not tell you how or why, by the sound of your voice I think you already know. So how about you give us a break, let us have that other key so I can head up to that castle and try to put an end to this drama. Hey... with any luck you, me, all of us will soon be delivered from this madness."

Ace steps around Vernon, holding a hand up, placatingly. "Perhaps we could recover your key," they say, and their tone would be comforting if it wasn't so flat. "If, perhaps, you could tell us where to find the witch."

Gwen dances back a few steps as the dragon climbs down from the tree. Her pigeon flares its wings, and she hugs it to her chest, staring at the dragon with eyes positively boiling with fear and rage.

Meanwhile, the group that had followed Vernon, accumulate on the shore of the island and he knocks on the door of the house, at last.

As Ace steps onto the shore, their stepping stones swing back below the water and vanish. They step around Vernon to stare at the door, tucking a hand beneath their cloak.

Prints in the snow prove a temporary decoy for Annie’s use. She leaves in her wake a twisted and variously repeated trail between buildings before coming to a wooden panel propped up on a barrel at one end, which she climbs to the apex of and leaps to a nearby rooftop. From there she uses chimney’s, having a great amount of fun gliding randomly from rooftop to rooftop, creating a maze of possible directions for her pursuer to consider. At long last, feeling a little warn out from the extraneous exercise, her misleading adventure comes to an end as she finds herself awkwardly gripping to the upper branches of a tree and peering down upon the activity taking place below.

From her perch she can see for quite some distance, however closer to her location is a gathering of peculiar interest; Chisille, Betty, Gwen and another lady she could feel great magical energy from, are conversing over the topic of a jar of food. She cocks her head in an effort to listen more closely to the words being said.

The rabbit incident unfolds as she observes and then, oddly enough, Annie’s ability to concentrate on the task at hand is interrupted by the smell of freshly cooked meat. Her dragon instincts became dominant, mouth watering as she focused on the outlay of food. Needing to eat, yet having enough mind not to simply jump down and alarm the group with her sudden presence, she reaches out to a small branch and applies pressure, causing it to snap, attracting the attention of those below....

    Quote from Pandolen»

"You know, I was having that very same thought lately, Ly-Ly, and I've gotta tell ya, you might have a point! After all, that butterfly spell worked by speaking English, so I guess I can do things that way... I'm just not quite sure what I was thinking at that time to make it work. To be perfectly honest, it normally doesn't."

Betty hears the snap as well, but seeing she ain't as paranoid about every little sound around her, she only realized something had happened when lil Chissy jumped on over by her side with a little fright.

"Hey their little sweetie, whats all that drama about?" Following Chissy's line of sight up into the branches of the tree, Betty sees the other dragon as well. "Oh my O my O my, color my overalls a bright shade nasty pink!" Betty shakes her head with amazement. "Well ain't that just another dragon if I've ever seen one! And by golly, wouldn't ya know it - That there dragon is the splitting image of you, Chissy - Who knew that all dragons looked exactly the same??"

Betty doesn't waste any time though. She called on up to that cute little dragon right away. "You get on down here now, you little dragon cutie - no sense in hiding up there in that big ol tree, now is there?" She points to the food on the ground. "As you can see, we have enough charred bunnies for everyone! So get on down here, silly, don't be shy! We ain't gonna a hurt ya none."

Gwen's head snaps around, turning slightly farther than one would think it should. Slowly, she turns around, narrowing her eyes up at the new dragon, her fingers twitching as though being restrained from strangling them then and there.

She takes a few steps backwards. "Don't come down!" she snaps at the new arrival. "She trusts you, but I don't!"
