posted a message on JourneyMap 5.5.x: Realtime mapping in-game or in a web browser as you explore

    Quote from Chubbychunks01»

O.K, I'm having a problem. I'm running Journeymap 1.7.10-5.1.0 and for some reason, the mini-map and full-screen map go blank at certain zoom levels and completely glitch out at the other zooms. It also glitches out if i change my Y coordinate. I've tried to delete the journeymap folder, try it on a new world and re-download the mod but nothing works. Above ground in the overworld, it works fine, but underground, in the nether and in the end it completely screws up. I've changed the settings and tried everything i could think of but nothing fixes it. I would like someones help. And before you ask, i ran the previous versions just fine

I have exactly the same problem as you do, even though all my mods, with the exception of Optifine, are different: Biomes O' Plenty, Hardcore Ender Expansion, Better Foliage, Aether, Twilight Forest, CaveBiomes, SoundFilters, Millenaire. Techbrew, should we provide some sort of log and how can we do it?

posted a message on Mob Spawn Controls 2! Back + Better than ever! Updated
So, I was trying to find an updated version of this mod and quite surprisingly found that there isn't any, even though the source code was updated. Anyway, I spent some time, trying to figure out how to compile mod from source, and it seems my endeavour wasn't in vain. It works for me in Minecraft 1.7.10, so I guess it's safe to safe that mod is updated. You can give it a try-here. Also it would be nice if Davidee could update the thread, so everyone would be able to see this. (I'll also post updated GUILib in corresponding thread)

    posted a message on [1.7.10 - 1.14.4]Sildur's shaders [PC/MAC/INTEL] Vibrant shaders v1.262 released! (December 4, 2019)
I downloaded the new vibrant shaders (standart version), and I should say that you, Sildur, did the great job optimising your shaders! It's the first shader pack so far, that allowed me to play with shadows and reflective water and Better Leaves and Grass mod at the same time with decent 20 fps! It runs at 19-24 fps on my old NVIDIA GT 540M, 1366*768 resolution. Especially I like new water, it is fully reflective: entities, clouds, Sun and Moon, blocks and even stars can be seen in it. Shadows resolution is also nice, they aren't too blocky, but not unnecessarily sharp. Also I found some bugs, luckly, they aren't too big, the only one that bother me is transparent hand... I made some screenshots to show some bugs and just how beautiful your shaders is.
Most of the bugs I found is connected with new water shader. As you can see there's a weird blue outline on reflections. It happens both at night and day, with any kind of block transparent and not. Sometimes you need to look at the certain angle to see this effect.

You can see that bug on clouds and in trees reflections (strange blue ghost trees)

Though I like the new water reflections, it's surface when it flows can be too reflective, and look weird. Also, when flowing water wave it can be transparent near edges.

Another bug related to rain. When it falls over the top of block (mainly grass, maybe other opaque blocks) it appears white. If you look closely, rain looks a bit lighter over the water and leaves, but in other areas it's whitish. I don't know how to show it, just turn on the rain and you'll see a slight flickering when rain drops falls over grass.

And another one, enderman's and spider's eyes texture doesn't load perfectly, so they look white... Maybe later you'll make them glow, like in SEUS?

I understand that this is just a test version, just wanted to show you this, maybe it'll help. Glitches isn't horrible, and shaders are pretty much playable. :D

P.S. Also I miss the godrays effect and hope you'll add it later. And thanks for your hard work! :)

I am almost sure, that Jeb added a biome variations, and here's why. While I was exploring the snapshot features, i saw a bunch of new birch forests, but then I've found a slightly different forest, it had very tall birch trees (look at the picture), now I tend to think, that there can be even more biomes than we think....

Swamp biome was edited a bit, but it definitely looks better. Here's some pictures:
Mojang added new, marsh like pools with lilypads. Finally, swamp looks realistic and nice.

Some chickens chilling in a pool. :)

As we can see, they altered the color of the biome too, and added a brown and dark green pattern to it.

There's actually two savanna biomes: a usual one and a savanna plateau. The first one is just grassy flat land with new trees but plateau is absolutely stunning, it can go as high as 200 blocks, but a bit lower (100 blocks high) version also exists! Now, that's what I call mountains! Just look at this.

The border between usual savanna and low plateau.

    The very high mountain!

Proof that mountain is reeeealy tall.

I made the panorama of the whole mountain.

    Second panorama

Also these dirtless and grassless areas are not a bug, you can encounter them only at very high altitudes (extreme hills, savanna plateau, etc). And I think small patches of water in swamp biome is not a bug either, it looks a lot better with them.

Don't know if this intended or not, but I've just found I can't craft wooden planks from dead wood...
New gems are awesome, but you really need to add some other uses for them besides the ability to craft decoration blocks from them. Maybe gem-specific trading? (sorry for english)

posted a message on Biomes O' Plenty - Over 50 new biomes, with new trees, plants, mobs, and more!
Hello, I want to participate in this competition, before it's too late. I came up with many different ideas, but unfortunately, people posted them before me. So because this ideas are still awesome, I decided to "help"
(it's not a help actually, but whatever...) people and recreate their suggestions in Minecraft. Here they are.

The first one is Coral Atoll/Reef idea by many various people. The ancient volcano is slowly plunges into water unable to resist the power of the sea. Coral island encircles the mountain. Islands are covered with jungle trees, palmtrees, flowers and many bushes. Coral reefs can be found round the island.

    Coral reef

This one is without the central island.

Note: Corals are from the mod by Nandonalt and q3hardcore.

Another one is by Darkai34 (p.122) . He called biome "The Overhang Forest", but I did this picture before his post so it's called "Jade Forest". This is a very mountainous region populated with conifers (fir trees and microbiota) and a tree the name of which I don't know :C. Mountains are look like a naturally created giant pillars.

Also, the biome have a lot of big and small lakes!

And a rivers are really fast there, so they create a small canyons.

I liked the Impact Crater biome too, so here it is. The first one have some fallen trees, and the second...

    ...have no trees. ._.

In real life, some craters are flooded.

Please note, that all of this 3 suggestions aren't mine, I just wanted to illustrate them. The 4th idea IS mine.

Finally, the last one, I thought about really nice landscapes and came up with the Cypress Swamp! As the name suggests the main type of vegetation here is cypress. Rain in these places isn't something special, as well as fog, so many mushrooms have spreaded over the soil, some of them developed an ability to glow in the dark! Here's some pictures:

    Beautiful, isn't it?

That's all, thank you for reading and glancing at my pictures :3 . If the pictures are way too big, tell me, I'll hide them. And I apologise for my horrible English.

P.S. Just in case: Please note, that all of this 3 suggestions aren't mine, I just wanted to illustrate them. The 4th idea IS mine.

I was wondering if anyone knew how to work mo creatures into biomes o plenty so I can get the creatures in each biome. If anyone knew where to redirect me or just tell me I'd appreciate it.

You have to install Mob Spawn Control and configure it by yourself. :)

The mod used to have a Reef biome, but it looked really bad, so I removed it, then added it again, and removed it once again. It doesn't look nice, because the coral were blocks, and water can't move through blocks. I'd have to have them as entities, and I'm not sure how to do that, with the custom rendering/modelling and everything.

I wish I could help you with that, but Java is like a closed book for me. However, you can reuse some of the code from the Nandonalt's Coral Reef mod, it's very old, but the important thing is that corals were blocks AND water moved through them somehow. Hope it'll help. :3
