Well, this was a wonderful time to come back to these forums. Literally just came back and find out they are closing in about a week. Shame, I had some really great times here and was looking forward to eventually coming back and having more... I guess that will never happen now. I am already distant from the friends I have made here, so that is not much of an issue, but it is sad to know I will not be able to get back into things. Aside from that, this was the best website for texture packs, mods, and forum games. I'll keep a look out for other options, but I doubt they will ever be able to replace this forum in full. I would have some very choice things to say to the corporate talking heads that probably made this decision, but that would not help, and I intend on at least not getting myself banned in the final days of this forum.

Am I the only one of the opinion that 1.17 should be combined into one update and released at the end of the year? It kind of seems that 1.17 is just... disappointing? Maybe part of that is the fact that we were first promised a lot more at once and then it was split up, but still. I fear that they just thought that people would rage if the update was delayed by months and will be releasing a buggy mess with only some features present.

I would certainly love the game to have more bugs fixed. The stuff that is related to obfuscation mapping and making modding easier is VEEEERY neat though; hopefully, this means that mods can update more quickly in the future. That, and I assume that the making and improvement of mods will be much easier now with that knowledge public. Ultimately, I have no idea as I do not make mods or code.
I am kind of annoyed that we have no idea when we will get the mountain biome update, let alone the other biomes content. It is kind of frustrating since they had said the mobs voted on far back we would be getting later... and we have heard literally nothing about those since then. I have a bad feeling that it will be the same as with the other biomes that they say they will "update later."

Granted, but you and your alts are the only accounts on the entire website. The only mods are those posted by you, the only resource packs are those posted by you, and forum games are just you talking to yourself.

Just checked in and saw it updated! I want to thank you again for all your hard work on both the main pack and the additional variations. I hope the camping trip was fun! I have been hiking out in the Blue Ridge mountain ranges, but only for day trips myself; I don't have the gear to do much else. I am always glad to see someone else who enjoys hiking!
