Maybe try googling for those? My brother helped me putting mods in my minecraft but was having a hard time to find them on the forum compared to me that used google and found them in, like ... five seconds? Well I guess it took me five seconds to search.

posted a message on NEED IDEAS FOR A MOD PLZ! HELP!
A mod that would give Minecraft a Dog Days aspect. Not a different world that needs a portal, but Minecraft having many floating island, villagers turning into small fluffy spheres with animal traits when killing them and the villagers having random styles, but having animal ears and tails. An arcane power that could be used by using the experience gathered while fighting could be usefull for fights.
Another idea for a mod, a cleaning mod, where you can have a shower stall or a bath and a cleanlyness bar. The worse the smell, the less mobs would approach you.

The config files have the name of the mods you are using. I'm going to upload my quick ID config file for the example. It works fine and it helps me keep track of wich ID are used by the mods I use. Since I don't know how to upload a file on this forum, I'm going to put up a link to mine, where it will be accessible for everyone.

posted a message on auto mining mod?
Buildcraft have those. But you will need to power the machine, create pipes to transport and probably get the Buildcraft handbook. Here is some mods that I recomend you: Buildcraft, Thaumcraft 2, Red Power, Industrialcraft 2 and BCIC2 (wich adds blocks to make a crossover of Buildcraft and IC2).

    Comparing Buildcraft with Minions
The Minions of MC Minions need to be directed and you need to stay near them. They cannot pick everything, depending on the mods you use (ie: crystals from Thaumcraft 2).
Buildcraft: place the machine, place the chests, connect them with transport pipes, power machine with engines (wich need a redstone curent to work, preferably a ON/OFF system), let it work for you and go do something else. It picks almost everything. Only lava, water and bedrock wont be picked and it will go to the most bottom of the map.

You should use the Edit button, it's really usefull when you forget to add something.

Recipe book is going to make Minecraft crash (it did for me and I had the latest). Maybe all your mods are not of the latest version. Maybe you have too many mods. And here is the step by step of how to correct the block Id error step by step that I posted to help someone else.

Thaumcraft 2 can run with Industrial craft 2 (i know it cause I run those in parallel) and Industrial craft is actually fun! Some items are ameliorations to precedent items of the normal Minecraft. Also, you can play with Buildcraft. And I think I know what the problem is. Do you have any Block ID problem? Check the config files for your different mods, copy paste the block ID's of each mods that add new blocks into a blank word pad and renumber them there, then modify the config files. It should clear any block ID problems. Start at around 130 when modifying the block ID's.

posted a message on Wishes to learn how to mod
My title says it all I want to learn how to do some mods and I actually don't know where to start. The only programation skill I know is ladder logic comming from my classes on Industrial Automats programation.

One thing I want to see in the responses I might get: simplicity. If you tell me many crazy steps to follow (and I might be unable to understand everything because of that), your help won't be read fully. Please, keep it simple.

posted a message on What mods should I use?
I have my own small list of compatible mods (some of those need some configuration because of block ID's conflicts). Mo' Creatures, Rei's Minimap, Thamcraft 2, Buildcraft, Industrial Craft 2, BCIC2 (wich adds something to permit IC2 to produce things for BC and vice versa), Balkon's Weapon Mod, Red power, BattleTower (when spawning near one, you can get, if you are lucky, a full chain armor and a complete diamond tool set) and Better Enchanting (TMI is usefull to test, recomend using it just to test each functions of each installed mods, then uninstal it and switch to Starting Inventory).

Some others that are compatible, but I don't use because of either massive lag or crashing Mincraft for no reason, are Twilight Forest and MineColony. There's also Ingame Info, wich I don't use cause there's no point for me to know how many MC days have passed.

For your problem of the black screen, there's many reasons it can occur, one I heard being ''too many mods installed''. I'm sure you have deleted META-INF, but I don't know if you are using the client versions (wich is only for SSP) or the server versions (wich is for SMP). Another reason they are not working might be how you installed some of them in your Minecraft.jar. You need to follow those steps, but only if you play in SSP:
    Install Mod Loader
    Install Audio Mod
    Install GUI API
    Install Rei's Minimap
    Install Forge Client
Install any other mod that won't overwrite the Forge files

Recomendation, try using MCPatcher to know wich will have .class files that are used by Forge, but do not use MCPatcher to mod your Minecraft completely, some mods won't work at all while some will partly and other mods will be fine. Mo' Creatures cannot be installed that way, Thaumcraft 2 is partly funtional (no sound) and Rei's Minimap is working fine.

Just to tell, I learned to mod my Minecraft alone last week and been working on it since the beginning of this week, had some problems at first, then refining my methods. One of those is to counter block ID errors. Here is my step by step to prevent those:
    1. Mod your Minecraft with compatible mods (or this step by step is useless)
    2. When you see the block ID error (wich apears after the Mojang logo), copy paste it in an empty Word Pad File.
    3. Close Minecraft, then reopen but don't log in.
    4. Open your .Minecraft folder.
    5. Search for each mod config files, they should be in the config folder. Open them in Word pad and be sure that there's the words Block ID in them.
    6. Open another blank Word pad.
7.Write the name of a mod, then copy paste the block ID's of said mod to blank Word pad. Repeate this step for each mods that use block IDs.
    8. Change the block ID's in the Word pad, not in the config files. You can start at 130, as long as you don't go out of the block ID range (wich will give you another kind of error if you give a block the ID 25424 for example).
    9. When complete, save it as blockidquickconfig.txt. It will save you time when you will add more mods that use block ID.
    10. Copy each new block IDs into their respective mods config file.
    11. Log in your Minecraft, if an error log show up about block ID, it's because you have forgotten one. If everything is fine, enjoy!

I hope I helped you on that one.

posted a message on Why does minecraft lag?
What will make minecraft lag more should be the mods you choose to install. Those that I know that will cause Minecraft to lag are Twilight Forest (wich adds a dimention with it's own portal) and one that is an heavy weight because of a complete integrated AI is MineColony (wich will also make Minecraft close for no reason, MineColony is very heavy for most computers). And Minecraft will use more of the CPU than the Video Card (I know cause of my computer temperature probe program, sometimes the main processor starts to heat up), still following the factor of wich mods you are using.
