Redirected projectiles (such as arrows) bounced off from Shields should count as player-based attacks. Currently you get no XP or player specific drops from finishing off a Skeleton with their own arrows. It could be a bug, but I think it's either an oversight or intentional.

There used to be an off-topic section titled Politics, Philosophy, News, and Science (PPNS) that was ultimately shut down due to the constant issues it caused the forum staff and the lack of real value it offered to the forum. Citricsquid posted a response to someone asking why that section was removed:Posted in: Forum Discussion & Info
The decision has been made by the administration considering all of the facts, the most important factor is the impact that the section has on the forum as a whole. The section is a net loss for the forum because the content compromises our mission (to provide a family friendly Minecraft forum) and requires a large amount of moderation overhead, the positive value for the forum is negligible (only a small number of members use the section) and we can't justify the compromise required to keep the section.
Other forum staff members were quite blunt with their opinions of that section and why it needed to be shut down:
PPNS was removed because of it's generally toxic environment and toxic group of people that seemed to hang out in it (take a look at many of the notable banned users here. What sections did they post in most?). Not to say that all people who posted there were toxic, but many of the people who posted there enjoyed stirring the pot on very dumb issues here (read: their constant whining and moaning). Overall, it attracted a negative and argumentative group of people that was a big problem for the mod team, so it was broken up. It wasn't just the frequent posters though, many others who posted there much less frequently made very rude, insulting, or uneducated comments in topics that they really had no business posting in. Many of the problems there were solvable, but would just continue to creep back. It was a huge load on us, and truthfully, that section offered absolutely nothing of value to this website, so rather than putting band aids on a bullet wound, and spending hours upon hours cleaning up posts and doing reports, it was just removed.
Considering there are lots of other forums on the Internet that are geared more towards adults and adult conversations, it is unlikely (in my opinion) that it would be reconsidered for inclusion on this forum. -

Right now skeletons are unbeatable without a shield, and with a shield a minor nuisance.
I propose that 50% of the time skeletons fire where you were a second ago. This mimics how another player would act with a bow- the fact that the user make mistakes is keeps bows balanced on multiplayer. Skeletons are like a computer playing chess- perfect at all times. This also encourages dodging arrows, as youl'll be hit from the second-ago arrow should you not move.
When skeletons are shooting at someone with a bow, they should fire at either the head or feet, forcing you to strategically move your shield. This way shields are still useful, but not OP.
You are right. Skeletons should also move slower when they have a bow drawn back just as players do.

Scimiguy posted a message on AoA--25 New Dimensions• 330 Mobs• 27 Bosses• Skills• Quests• 600+Items [LARGE Bugfix Update, May 2018]Posted in: Minecraft ModsThe official server is now open!
I plan to continuously work on the server over time, including occasional events and updates and such as required. It is still early days, so please bear with me if I have to iron out any issues.
Due to the cost of running it, I will ask for some assistance in the form of donations to help keep it running. I do not pocket any of the money donated, and it will all go back to keeping the server running longer.
More details on this coming soon.
You can access the server by downloading and installing the modpack and configs in one of two ways:
1. Use the Technic launcher. You can use the URL to paste into your modpacks tab inside the launcher here: http://api.technicpack.net/modpack/tslats-advent-of-ascension
2. Install the mods and configuration manually. You can download the files here: http://tslat.net/Hosting/Tslat-AoA/AoA-Official-Server-Manual.zip
Once installed, you can access the server via it's IP as usual: minecraft.tslat.net -

The visual editor is often buggy, so sometimes I prefer using the BBCode editor for more complicated posts. However, from my experience switching from visual to BBCode and back tends to break the formatting. If there was an option to make the BBCode editor default, people wouldn't have to switch between the two editors and it might resolve some of the editing issues on this forum.

There should be a gamerule (possibly called explosionGriefing) that disables explosions from destroying blocks.
It would stop Creepers from destroying terrain without preventing Villagers from farming and picking up items. Most of the time I only set mobGriefing to false to stop creeper damage, but I don't want to also stop non-explosion interactions such as farming and endermen picking up blocks. This gamerule would also let mapmakers prevent TNT griefing without using plugins (so that they can be used in cosmetic explosions or as weapons against mobs).

You should be able to mine it with a pickaxe with the "Silk Touch" enchantment.

Honestly, I feel that minigame servers lose the true "feel" of Minecraft. Vanilla Minecraft seems to be mostly about exploration, creativity/building and defending against mobs, but most large servers just have competitive PvP. Imo, the creative atmosphere of Minecraft is what makes it stand out from all the other games out there.
Also the community on many larger servers is often toxic. Honestly, I think that if servers started promoting an atmosphere of teamwork (non PvP survival etc) instead of just competitive PvP, it might be a step towards improving its community, since people won't get frustrated at other players for killing them.

You could request a username change at http://support.curse.com/hc/en-us/requests/new, however choose carefully since they can only change your username once.

There is a rather severe bug with Hunter Armor:
If you get knocked upwards (such as by explosion or Tree Spirit) while wearing the armor, you rocket upwards at an exponential rate (so you'll find yourself at y = 103853875983717595 within several seconds).
This happens both in singleplayer and on the server (and also crashed the server twice today, it's still down after the 2nd crash an hour ago).

Bows are not bayonets, and I don't see how hard switching to your sword is (especially when you can just scroll with your mouse wheel). If "a diamond knife can get only 1 damage", then it's basically useless and would only constitute a waste of diamonds. Also, your font makes it hard to read (which lowers the chance of receiving support); please put spacing between your words and don't make the size so big.

This sounds pretty cool, but why is the title "On"? Also in the first sentence, I believe you meant to type "shield" instead of "should".
I also think the chances should be lowered, it should be more like the chance of Spiders randomly getting potion effects.

Unfortunately, I must agree with the others: this sounds extremely difficult to survive in, and is rather mod-ish.
No support

Partial support, since this has already been implemented (in a way) in the snapshots. However, I do like the "secondary effects" part where other mobs attack you based on which head you are wearing.
