"Better than Wolves" esque changes and updates that would make survival much more interesting.

As interesting as a desert well. Maybe if they're prettier, as interesting as one of those temples, just without functioning, purpose and reason to even approach it.

Maybe if it's big enough to be considered a quick shelter, that'll be nice, but other than that, I don't see how adding structures with no function except to be pretty would be more interesting than one with a function.

Don't get me wrong, a couple of structures just for looks might be nice if they seem more natural, in which case it'd just categorize into variety (Look at fallen trees in Pocket edition, stuff like that), but flat out meaningless structures that awkwardly exist for no reason is just... strange to me.

I think it would be interesting because unlike the desert well and temple currently, we wouldn't be seeing the exact same structures every time, (assuming that enough new ones were added so that this were actually true.) However, I wouldn't have any problem if the structures were more natural, fallen trees would add a lot to the world. (Here's an idea - spider webs going between tress in roofed forests?)

And the difference between playing with structures and playing without structures becomes bigger and bigger, almost as if we have two games
    now... :)

I do wish there were an option to make spawned structures more rare - I like having them in my world, but I think stumbling across a village should be rare, not expected.

    Why?
What purpose would adding random structures serve? To look a them and say "Neat" and forget they even exist 10 minutes later, like the desert well? (Bet you forgot that existed, huh?)

You're forgetting quality > quantity. I for sure do not want to always have random structures shoved in my face that are ugly, small and serve no purpose at all.

I'm not convinced - if a ton of random structures were added, then any single one would spawn rarely enough that coming across one would be an interesting discovery. The desert well is boring, but it's also the only structure that spawns in deserts besides pyramids.

I'd personally like it if the 1.7 biome temperature based gen got reverted, then I'd actually have a reason to bother trying to explore for another biome that is not the same 3 over and over.

That would be the worst thing to happen to the terrain gen since beta 1.8. Aesthetic preferences aside, don't you think it would cheapen the exploration to be able to find any biome by simply picking a direction and walking?

Like seriously, why would they add an extra hand? It's pretty darn useless!

This is the first time I've seen someone say they don't like 1.9 because they think dual wielding is pointless, so congratulations, I guess.

And if there's a group of skeletons?

I think I posted this before (but not sure where), but playing the other day I was confronted with a host of skeletons (5-6 I think), 2 creepers and 2-3 endermen. (It was in a large unlit area of a new structure I was building that didn't have lights installed yet.) This is much different than fighting a small group of one type of mob.

I don't fault people if they see that as a challenge; that's cool for them. It's just not my thing, as I find it distracting.

Run and take cover, you're not invincible like you used to be.

But they do! it is their product now and their investment and as such they have a say on what goes on... else you live in fairy land.

    They can, but do they?

Just as they've started to push Windows 10 with MC (in case you missed it you can have it for free if you own a legit MC copy).... you may think is fair game, I don't.

But you just said it's free. And what does that have to do with the Combat Update?

    Quote from BigGrayGolem»
The problem we have with Mojang is the devs get bored, and tinker with things while never finishing what they started previously. The waste time coding things that go nowhere (fireworks, beacons, horses) and rather then fix or expand them, they move onto something else entirely. It's so prevalent, the coding culture at Mojangeven BRANDS the new releases around whatever attention-deficit thing they have moved onto, such as (this time) the "Combat Update."

I agree, Mojang seems to never implement their update ideas to the fullest potential. However, I don't think the Combat Update is as drastic a change as you're making it out to be, or that it will not stop being a problem once you simply get used to it. (Yes, I know, you don't want to, whatever.)

Irony is that Microsoft OWN Minecraft so how on earth cannot they touch it? those responsible for the update are Microsoft whether you like it or not.

By... not influencing Mojang's creative decisions despite owning the brand? What makes you so sure they have influenced Minecraft's updates?

"Also, the sounds are liked by the majority of us here"

Majority of you who are into PvP that is. Everyone else (the creative lot) hates it.

Unless you actually found the spamclick combat fun, there's no reason to complain. If you don't want to keep running back to bed because it's tedious, (implying that you don't want to fight anything,) play in peaceful mode.

You could use WorldBorder to automatically generate a world and a border.

Or use this command block to automatically teleport around, generating chunks.

I have to agree with Zakum. Monsters are natural, and there was never an "apocalypse." The world has always been this way... so far as we know. However, there must have been ancient civilizations before us, to have built the temples. But why, and where did they go?

Magic and the supernatural may exist in the form of Enderpearls, alchemy, etc. But it could also just be science we don't understand. (As the world of Minecraft does not follow our own natural laws.)

LOL. Life is not a dream, you would be overthinking something terribly obvious.

This game basically consists of cutscenes, quick time events, decision making and some rare cases where you fight mobs..which are really boring..so it's not even a game but rather it is a movie where you select different paths...

How long did it take you to figure that one out?
