    Scouur - Elgar

Elgar awoke in a dark hut several hours later, his limbs were heavily wrapped and there was some sort of cold but dry salve with no colour but a heavy mint aroma plastered across most of his body. He sat upright and looked around, this room was indeed not a hut, but a sandstone building with woven branch dividers making it into a general infirmary, nothing special like ones Elgar had seen in cities back home, but a place free from sand where wounds could be healed. Where is my flame friend? Elgar could see something glowing behind one of the dividers, peeking in he saw his elemental friend, whom was glowing with a bright red flare. Bellows had been commandeered from some sort of medical apparatus to facilitate thier abnormal patient, the remnants of the device were hastily scattered around. Nodding with the satisfaction that the flame elemental would be fine, Elgar left the premise with surprisingly no intervention, the nurses and doctors had been surprisingly absent.

Soon the reasoning became apparent. The infirmary clinic had been down a single side road from the main central area, reaching said area Elgar could see that there were many injured coming from somewhere north of the city, probably the gate. After asking around he discovered that these people were from a place up north called Blarkensomthing, apparently some sort of creature had attacked their village with fire, unfortunately the information Elgar recieved wildly varied, everything from Dragons to forge giants.

To his dismay, it seemed like warnings were being passed out telling people not to head north for several more days, this unfortunately conflicted with Elgar's plans and unsurprisingly he disobeyed the advice.

    Scouur - Elgar
The beast slumped over, sending Elgar and the unconscious kobold tumbling. Between the burns, gashes and a few arrows from guards that had been not too far away to not hear the commotion, the creature was down. Elgar hobbled over to the burning mess that was fighting the hogbeast moments prior, now it was burning at a steady rate, though Elgar was unsure if this was normal or not. The creature radiated the warm aura of a being from the plane of fire, this suggested that it was some sort of fire elemental or perhaps even a fire-touched human. Elgar approached but was unable to get too close for the flames were certainly real.

Elgar switched his attention to the paladin whom had called out just before, he was fending off what looked to be the last of the kobolds, Elgar doubted he would be able to offer any assistance. "I... I did as much as I could." With that, Elgar collapsed from his wounds, he had managed to stop most of the bleeding but his blood loss was already past less than healthy.

    Scouur - Elgar

    "Are you alright up there?!!!"

Elgar was preoccupied and unable to respond, the Kobold immediately began swinging his shortsword with mild inacuracy, his arms more used to archery and not being right up in the fray. Elgar slashed back, causing the the kobold to drop the reigns, in turn making the hogbeast buck and sway. Dropping to his knees Elgar clutched to the creature's fur for his life, he then began hacking at the creature's tough, leathery hide causing it to react even more violently.

Solar_San, pokemad, angelgirl and GeorgeNinja are now considered inactive.

Solar_San and pokemad has given appropriate notice so will be pardoned.

Inactive players will not recieve extra ability points/ skills at the end of each chapter, so if you wish to advance along side the others be sure to post! Experience is rewarded for quality RPing and player interaction, not quantity, so do not feel you need to post essay length posts if that is something you worry about.

That said, without any posts, I can't award you points/skills pokemad anyways. So post if you want your character to advance!

    Scouur - Elgar
Limping out of the alleyway and back to where the Hogbeast and archer were, Elgar spotted some sort of creature burning up on the ground ahead. He had managed to finish off the second alley kobold with a brief visit of his sword to the being's sternum. He tore off his breeches below the knee and had bandaged his leg to the best degree he could amidst a fightful interruption such as these kobolds presented. Hobbling over to the flaming creature lying on the ground, E inspected though he could hardly keep both eyes open as those kobolds had put up a fair fight. "I can still sense a faint residule aura emanating from this bright creature, it will live another day if I can stop that thing from doing any more damage."

The Hogbeast snorted and taunted with one of its hooves, as if to charge. Elgar stood his ground and while clutching his side with one arm, raised his sword with the other. Elgar side stepped and the beast turned with him, he did this once more so he was sure the beast would not charge his collapsed friend. "Come and get me!!" Elgar ran at the beast as it charged him, the beast was quick, but Elgar too possessed some unhumanly dexterity. At the last moment, he was able to push off the ground with his good leg and clamber onto the creatures face. The Archer atop was not expecting this and hurriedly swapped his two-handed crossbolt for a shortsword laying at his feet, so that he would not have to release the reigns.

Elgar swiped at the kobolds feet as he hauled himself up onto the platform. The kobold nimbly dodged the attack but was unable to stop Elgar from climbing aboard.

    Scouur - Elgar

Parrying their furious swipes, Elgar was slowly being pushed back towards an alley which presumably ended in a dead end. Not wanting to be at such a disadvantage, he struck out at one of the Kobolds, allowing the other an attack of opportunity. His sword sliced into the first creature's scaley flesh with some hesitation but was eventually the attack was enough to end the creature. Elgar flung the kobold carcass towards the other, sending it flying backwards and crashing into some crates. Elgar used this brief moment to readjust himself and realised that his left arm was now covered in many razor gashes. While his arm was fairly stable, the leg wound was bleeding and would need some attention soon.

    Scouur, Hogbeast - Hikaru

The flameling's fist comes into contact with the unsuspecting hogbeast's cheek, it burns through a small patch of the creature's bristle-like fur. The Kobold Archer controlling the creature lets loose several arrows but they bounce on the pavement too far away from Hikaru, he had not expected anyone to rush in so close to the creature for some obvious reasons. The Archer dropped his bow to one hand and pulled on the reigns with the other, causing the Hogbeast's head and consequently tusks to rear to the side and slam into Hikaru's side, flinging him back a couple of metres. The archer knocked an arrow and once again took aim at the burning entity.

    Scouur - Elgar
Elgar ran up behind the two Kobolds, One was carrying a crook, which was essentially a long stick with a metal hook on the end which it was using previously to snatch coin purses, The other still had its bow. The two were aiming their weapons at some townsfolk, holding their hands out as if they expected people to just hand over their valuables. "Not so fast!" He swung his sword against the cobble horseways causing it to cast menacing sparks like a flint firestarter. "You're kinda stupid for choosing to try and raid a city filled with adventurers of all sorts." E held his sword with two hands infront of his face with his feet shoulderwidth apart, his prefered stance of fight. "Have at ye."

Elgar ran headlong at the Archer, who in a hurry tried to parry with his bow which almost immediately splintered. The other swung wildly back at Elgar, catching his leg, gritting his teeth Elgar kicked the hook away from himself in a hurry, causing it to catch on the 'clothes' of the now bowless Kobold archer. A brief moment of trying to get his hook unstuck without depantsing his comrade gave Elgar chance to swing down at the crook, splintering the shaft in twey. "Ha, what now my weaponless friends?" The Kobolds decided to respond to his jest by raising their taloned appendages with which they could use natural attack. "oh..."

    Quote from CloakedShadow»

    Name: Elena Cataegis

    Accepted.

Note: Elena cannot use effectively use 'binding ritual' to store objects due to heart chains preventing any part of her soul interacting with other planes of existance (including extra dimensional realms).

You can still bind objects to your soul, but instead of disappearing into you, they will clatter to the floor and gain the curse: HeartChains. You can then call the object forth to your hands as per usual. These objects cannot be stored in extra dimensional spaces (Such as bags of holding or portable holes). Those with Aurasight can see metaphysical chains leading from the object all the way back to the soul they are bound to.

When calling back a HeartChain-Bound Weapon, those with aurasight can see the chains retract, but at insane speeds that cannot be comprehended unless they also have 'keen eye'. (those with aurasight but not keen eye simply believe the chains to have vanished along with the weapon)

    Scouur - Kobold Riders

One of the lizard creatures with a bow made some hand gestures to his fellow crewmembers. The ones with the crooks as well as two of the archers abandoned ship and dove into the surrounding crowd and streets, fanning out to maximize on the chaos. There were three groups of kobolds running around while one archer remained on top of the hogbeast. The archer that remained pulled a string and all of the arms and pulleys folded into form a barrier of sorts. The archer dropped his bow and lifted some heavier weaponry, a heavy crossbow to be precise.

Elgar weighed up his options and decided to follow one of the small groups of kobolds that had dashed into the crowd. The hogbeast seemed a little out of his weight class when it came to fighting, but perhaps taking down a couple of lizard men could gain him some credit in this city.

    Scouur - Elgar

Pocketing the key to his room, Elgar decided to look around the town with the last few hours he had before sundown. The immediate vacinity outside of the inn/tavern was a circle of cobbled sandstone surrounding a number of general trade stores and other more specialised stores such as a tailors. It seemed only logical as many archeologist would travel here to set up shop and would need long term investment gear as well as goods on a daily basis. Elgar peered in on some of the displays but knew for a fact he could not afford anything.

Just then his window shopping activities were cut short by a peircing squeal from somewhere to the north behind where the inn was situated. Elgar grasped the hilt of his sword and made a break for the curving roads that would lead him to where he estimated the sounds originated. Upon closing in the sound of thudding hoofs and mangled snarls became apparent and the sources of all sounds became immediately obvious.

Seven spindley lizardesque creatures swung from the back of a fat hog-like creature with at least six legs. Shoddy looking wooden aparatus swung with them, utilized to make a larger platform on the creature's back so that all seven could fit. The aparatus looked like an upside down pyramid platform with a series of rope pulleys and swings. Three of the kobolds stood in the middle of the platform, armed with bows, the rest were on the pulley-swings armed with crooks, liftings purses off the belts of merchants and travellers while the huge creature steamrolled along the cobble streets.

    Gate - Inn

"WHY I." Grol, spinning, raised a fist but hesitantly transformed it into a pointed index aimed at wood elf away. "YOU- YOU CAN'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO." He punched the very table he had slammed his fist on before, sending it and its contents clattering towards the floor, his strike had snapped the table's grounded post uncleanly in two. The brute of a man made a dive towards the tankards of ale from before, knocking a few patrons trying to hold him down out of his way quite easily. Before he could reach the tankards they were slid away from his grasps. Grol then turned to an interjection by a newer patron.

"DO YOU WANT TO START SOMETHING MATE." Grol lifted an emptied tankard from near his side and threw it at the kitsune fellow, but through his hazed vision he sent the cup clattering into a wall far right. This apparent miss angered him and, gritting his teeth, he began wading through the crowded tables towards the foxman. "I'll show you who can't aim properly." as he waded, knocking over patrons and their meals alike, Grol stopped momentarily to smash a table dramatically and lift a portion of it as a makeshift club, no doubt giving himself numerous splinters in the process.
