posted a message on (1.12.1) Trying to get back to main End island after coming to outer islands, only teleports me back to outer island portal.

I don't understand what I did wrong. The world is kinda old but outer islands were still in the game when I killed the first dragon(haven't killed it again since). I don't want to have to kill myself and I'm definitely not bridging back. What can I do?

Yeah I have some nether tunnels to a mesa, village, end portal, etc. but I don't like building full buildings like what you suggested, moreso buildings that are set into the walls of that area. For me it just looks to plain to have buildings plopped on the ground. I don't really have a real home, yeah, but that's not what I'm going for. I don't want everything in one little house, I want to live in that entire area. I'm probably gonna move everything into the storage room and just use that "hidey-hole" for bulk storage and stuff like that. So because all my buildings are kinda set into the side of the hills, what do you think I should do with that middle clearing?

Seems like a great place for mossy stone brick ruins or other structures that are partially buried in the ground. Perhaps something like this:

    or this

    Ehhh...

Ruins isn't really the style I'm going for, I want it to look developed and maintained.

I really don't know why you don't know what to do. I'd love to have a world that developed for 1.11...

Although your storage does need a lot of work.

Yeah, it does. I kinda just don't know what to do with that blank clearing between my storage room area hole in the wall and the sugar cane farm by the bridge to the swamp. Ideas? My build style has mostly consisted of buildings set into the walls of the place rather than normal above ground stuff, so I have no idea what to do there. Ideas?

    So here's my world:

The area I was pointing at behind the hill and walking up to the cliff coming from the cow farm, is where I want to expand the cow farm so that there are a bunch of cows just roaming all over the top of the hill and up to the cliff.

So mainly what I wanna know is some ways I can make this area specifically look better. Like how can I develop the area more and make it prettier, etc.

Cool, thanks for the ideas. I think I'll post a video if I can get the Windows game bar to work and you guys can suggest some stuff.

posted a message on How can I make my world more enjoyable to be/work in?

Well I haven't played Minecraft for quite a while and I got back into it about a month ago and now I'm burning myself out, and starting over is the last thing I want to do. Starting out isn't the most enjoyable part for me, getting established and then doing fun stuff with the tools I have now is what's fun. But once I get established I never know what to do, and I find one thing only to do and get burned out doing it.

What sort of builds do you think I could do to make things more enjoyable? I'm kinda tired of infrastructure type projects, I wanna build, but I don't know how I can do it in a way that will make my world more fun to be in. Maybe later I'll post like a video or something showing my world and you guys can suggest stuff for it?

They would still be shown in the entity count, then. Gizor, where are you getting your "63" from, is it the first or the second number of the entity count? Like when you say 63, does it say something more like "62/63" or more like "63/72"? The first number is how many entities are in your field of view (not necessarily visible, it counts things behind walls and stuff) and the second number is the total entities in loaded chunks. There is always at least one (the player) that is loaded but not rendered. But if there are more than that,it might mean mobs that spawned or teleported outside the trap. What's it say when you step back from the killing area and look around? How about straight up? The fact that they start flooding in again as soon as you kill the ones that are there indicates that there's nothing really wrong with your spawn rates, and you are just running into the mob cap. The only weird thing is that you're not getting the full 70+ mobs inside your killing chamber.

I was watching the second number but that doesn't change the fact that they're capping for no reason.

Well that doesn't seem right, I think Etho has had more than 70 endermen at a time in his farm. That can't be right..

Also update, definitely as soon as you kill off the 61-63 they flood in and stop at 63-ish, and it takes like 20 seconds if that to get there.

What are some tips for not getting burnt out on my world? I find myself getting bored of my world because I do too much of one thing or get stuck doing something and get bored of it, or I just don't know what to do with my world anymore, like what to build or something. What are some ways to keep myself busy and give myself fun stuff to do in my world? Something Etho mentioned when I was watching him(and I think he does a good job of keeping himself busy) and he said to make your world so that you have to go through what you've built and enjoy what you have on the way to where you're going.

What other tips do you guys have for me?

Here's a somewhat extensive explanation of mob spawning:
    http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Spawn

You mentioned that your spawner is located on an island, Which limits the available spawning area, thus reducing the spawn cap for endermen.

The faster you kill off the mobs, the faster the replenish according the the wiki.

Sorry, I misspoke then. It's 200 blocks FROM the main island. It's not about how fast I kill them because no matter what it caps at 63 and no matter what it replenishes to 63 super fast.

What's your render distance? There's a bug that affects spawn rates when your render distance is anything less than 10 chunks. Even if you normally have to play on less than that, your system can probably handle it with nothing else to render way out there in the void but the farm itself, try upping it to 10 chunks or more and see if that doesn't sort you out.

Since always? I thought so, anyway. Isn't that why we need a "water curtain" around our killing area? Otherwise we'd all just make the roof out of half-slabs and be done with it.

Ok I'll check. It turns out they can teleport to half slabs which I think is retarded but whatever. Also no matter what it caps at 63. Like, I'll be sitting at the kill floor at 63 endermen and then go to the top and watch like 20 spawn... Go to the bottom and there's 63. Are they despawning?? Like how does that even work? That makes no sense..

EDIT: Render distance doesn't seem to change anything. When I kill them all off, there's a constant stream of endermen until it hits 63-ish. Wut!

What game version is your farm running in?

    1.11.

By the way I also realized my bridge to the farm has a bunch of guys spawning on it so that could be slowing things down.

Now though, it's capping at 37 or so and filling up super fast again.

EDIT: Nevermind doing a little better now, but when it gets to 60 the rate of spawns really slows down or even stops,

posted a message on I have a problem with my enderman farm..

So I have an endermite powered enderman farm 200 blocks from the original island but it seems to really really slow down at around 50-55 endermen. If I kill them all, they replenish to 50 at a much faster rate than they were at 50 originally.

I haven't completed the spawn platform yet, so I'm wondering if the platform I have is spawning a bunch of endermen and then once groups of endermen have spawned in pretty much the entire platform, that it rarely spawns anymore in areas that endermen have spawned before? Like once an area on the platform spawns endermen, then it won't spawn any more, at least for a while? I left it running for about 20 minutes maybe, and it never really got past 50.

So like immediately after I kill off all the endermen, they start raining down to the kill level again, much faster than before. Why??

I'll expand the platform in a little bit, but are there any other reasons it's doing this?

EDIT: Oh yeah also, SINCE WHEN DO ENDERMEN TELEPORT TO HALF SLABS?!
