Dec 11, 2011With a budget of $1,600 you should be getting a better GPU then a GTX 560 Ti. Seems kind of odd to post a build that you might not even build for a year. You probably won't even end up using this build by the time you have the money. Better parts will be out and prices change a bunch in that amount of time.Posted in: Computer Science and Technology
Dec 11, 2011You can find Filco Majestouch-2 on amazon. I use to have a ninja and it was very nice. The Rosewill RK-9000 is basically the same as the the Steelseries 6Gv2, TT Meka G1 and the Filco Majestouch. Another nice board is the Deck Legend if you want a back lit mechanical board.Posted in: Computer Science and Technology
Dec 11, 2011I don't have any knowledge of this case but I hope you made sure a GTX 580 will fit.Posted in: Computer Science and Technology
It's the mATX board but it's still a great board for the price. I have one in my LAN rig.
The keyboard, mouse & fan controller are horrible. I got that mouse awhile back as a gift and it's just terrible for gaming and has buggy drivers. It just sits on my desk and looks cool like a statue as I can't stand using it. The keyboard is just gimmicky junk. The only good keyboard thermaltake makes is the MEKA G1 but it's a little overpriced. Even keyboards like the Logitech G110 or Microsoft SideWinder x4/X6 are better around that price.
Most touch screen fan controllers are horrible and get very annoying. It also has very low wattage per channel.
Only decent fan controller NZXT makes is the NZXT Sentry Mesh.
This is what a good fan controller looks like.
Dec 11, 2011Like I said earlier Antec cases aren't the greatest but if your set on that case you should get the newer version. The one you have up is very outdated.Posted in: Computer Science and Technology
Antec Nine Hundred Two V3
Dec 11, 2011The G9x is much better imo. Death Adder is very light compared to a fully weighted G9x.Posted in: Computer Science and Technology
If you want a really good Mechanical Keyboard I would go with a ducky shine. It doesn't have a million macro keys but the build quality is much better then Razer.
The blue LED ones are sold out right now but they'll get more soon. I personally like brown switches more then blues.
Blue LED version but only with blue switches.
If you really want a Black Widow I would get the stealth edition unless you really do like blue switches.

Really? I've had quite good experiences with the gamer series with the blue LEDs.
Any chance for a source/link/forum post/etc. that says they were made by channel well?
I never said it wasn't a decent PSU. Channel Well isn't a bad manufacture. This unit is just overpriced a bit.
This list isn't totally accurate since some contracts have changed but for the most part it's good.
This will show you how to find the real Manufacturer.
Here is a pretty good article to those that think any 80+ is a quality power supply.
Dec 11, 2011SnowCrash posted a message on Is this a good power supply? And should I buy computer parts on christmas? If it says gamer and has blue LED's you know your overpaying. It's one of Corsairs lowest quality models made by channel well. I'm not saying it's bad but it's overpriced and you would be better served to get a higher quality PSU like the one Gringo_Starr recommended. If you want a bit of color just buy some blue led fans or a cold cathode.Posted in: Computer Science and Technology

It's a pretty simple budget build. All the parts except the case are decent. It's kind of waste of money to buy such a outdated case. You can buy newer cases with much better features for the same price.
Dec 11, 2011Probably would been smarter to get a i5 2500k and got a better GPU and PSU. I would probably ditch the Razer keyboard and get a mechanical keyboard. The case sounds like it's pretty bad if it's so old that it's still running 80mm fans. Not a very balanced build really but it's decent.Posted in: Computer Science and Technology
Dec 9, 2011The EVGA card is a GTX 560 and the Gigabyte card is a GTX 560 Ti. Any GTX 560 Ti will be faster then a standard GTX 560.Posted in: Computer Science and Technology
A single fan card generally exhaust most of the hot air out the back of the case which is better for cases with poor airflow (Dell or HP type cases with only a single exhaust fan for example). Cards with dual fans dump the hot air directly into the case which isn't a problem if the case has good airflow. If you have a case that vents out the top and back the dual fans coolers are usually much better for noise and heat. Pretty much all GTX 560 Ti cards run pretty quiet unless your at 100% fan speed or have a messed up bearing in one of the fans.
Dec 2, 2011You would know better then us what you might build in the future. Are you gonna open it up and cut down the wires not being used? You can always solder and re-wrap the cables and make it like it was before. It's a $20 part and probably not worth worrying about.Posted in: Computer Science and Technology

Ok. I will look for low profile RAM.
*EDIT* Is it fixed? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231315
They will be very close but they will fit.
