I don't need alpha testers, because I'm doing alpha testing alone. However, I may need one or two more beta testers, I'm not entirely sure yet. If it'll turn out that I do need them, I'll hand-pick them from a group of people who would be interested in helping me.
You already have four very willing volunteers should the need arise.
Question: My friends and I want to do "Race for the Wool 2" The problem is that every Minecraft server jar that we've tried it on, the arrow mechanic is broken and the arrows when fired just drop straight to the ground at the firers feet instead of flying. What version of Minecraft do you use for this one? Every other mechanic in the map seems to work except for arrows for some reason.
I would not trying to play Vechs RTW because they incredibly out of date. There are plenty of other good RTW's out there that are just as good if not better than his.
So if I wanted to /kill a specific item as it was dropped (say, like, rotten flesh) how do I put it in the /kill @e command so that ONLY the rotten flesh item entities get killed...?
As for the CQ (along with quite a few regarding map aesthetics) all I can say is that I care not for pretty buildings, just show me you can make hilarious mobs. Mobs are what make a map come ALIVE. Pretty buildings are nice and all but they're so static and boring without interesting and challenging living things to defeat. I'm also not talking about random vanilla zombie spawners or even plainly geared mobs, nowadays you need to include stacked mobs with interesting mechanics for it to be as fun as CTM maps should be to play. Of course making a map pretty and aesthetically pleasing is important for the production value of a map... but time should also be spent making your mobs stand out and be entertaining to the player. They don't just look at your map, they PLAY your map (hopefully).
TL;DR: Enough about static map aesthetics; interesting mobs are like having LIVING aesthetics.
And I'd really like to know about that first bit in this post, pl0x...
I agree a little bit as long as you don't have wool mobs. WOOL MOBS ARE EVIL!
Your thread is basicly dead so there's no point in bumping over and over unless you want to get reported to the mods. If your craving activity make a new map or update your existing maps for the current minecraft version.
Have you ever replayed a CTM map, and which maps were they?
It just struck me that most of the time, we play CTM maps for the right to say we've completed it, or to enjoy the experience, but past that they don't have much replay value, aside from just having fun or speedrunning. For me, I've only ever played Rugged Horizons and Spellbound Caves more than once, both because I was attempting to speedrun them. Has anyone else felt/observed this in their own playing habits?
Septum Immoriel but that was mostly because there was new content by the time I finished what was there before.
I FINISHED UT3 !!! \o/ Just completed the monument, with those two last episodes =D
And so, I thought I could review it...

Difficulty: 8 Overall Enjoyment: 8
Comments: What a good map, woah. I liked it a lot !! Very challenging, and I never was in trouble with the resources, which is a good thing. There are some cool gameplay ideas too, but I didn't like the Energy Drinks very much, and OH GOD the last intersection.... Aside from the Rage Piglet Citadel, which was awesome and easily my favorite area of the map cuz it's so much fun, it was a total nightmare. That black wool. So painful. Too many mobs for my PC, too, I guess. So, FPS drops and frustration, I hated these last two zones so hard. But all the map before that was so good, it was nearly flawless.
Nearly. The end of Thunder Valley was just chaos everywhere, and thus, not fun at all for me. Getting ambushed in a giant cave and one-shot by a ghast is not fun. And giant zombies at the end of the map. Seriously ?...
However, it was a lot a fun altogether. Some areas were very pleasant to be in. The Citadel is so friggin' epic.
SCORE Aesthetics: 7/10. Simple but effective. It works. Creativity: 9/10. A lot of ideas were in the map, sometimes bad ideas but creative ones nonetheless. Gameplay: 8/10. I had fun, chests and drops are there, very good ^^ TOTAL: 24/30
