Moved Pocket Enchanter to another topic.

Basically, if you open an enchanted book, you will see one slot and a button. After filling the slot with the item and pressing the button, the item should have all the enchantments of the book, then all enchantment levels on the item will be raised by one. This effect stack with normal enchanting without any restrictions, but does not stack with itself.

E.g. Sharpness V Knockback II book + Smite V Knockback II sword = Sharpness VI Smite VI Knockback V sword

How about the duration?

Each 20 uses, every added enchantment's level will decrease by one until the added enchantment is no more. This does not apply to enchantments applied by enchanting table.

What is the XP cost?

(number of enchantments on book) + 1 + (number of enchantments on item).


FAQ

Is this a temporary enchantment?

Yes.

Why would I want this when I can just plop down an enchanting table?

To overenchant (i.e. get an enchantment over the max level) an item temporarily at a high cost to get out of sticky situations like being trapped in a Vechs dungeon with 100 zombies clawing at you.

This will not cost lapis. Just a book, some levels and an item.

Probably less than a normal enchantment (maybe 8?).

Enchantments:

Weapon:

#1: Cleave: Weapon deals splash damage. That means that mobs around the attacked mob in a X radius gets damaged by Y%.

e.g. A weapon with Cleave I will hit mobs in a 2 block radius for 15% of the damage.

Why? More crowd control in custom maps/when you are stuck in a ton of mobs.

#2: Lifesteal: Attacking anything with the weapon will restore the wielder's life by X% of the original damage.

#3: Foodsteal: Attacking anything with the weapon will restore the wielder's hunger meter by X% of the original damage.

Helmet:

#1: True Sight: Reveals invisible players and mobs.

Tools:

#1: Smelt: Ores mined by the pickaxe will yield multiple smelted ores (iron bars).

#2: Detector: The pickaxe will alert you to ores if the mined block is within a certain radius of the ore. Distance is shown, but direction is not.

What is Elfsbane?

It is a succession-style LP (that means you record an episode then pass it on to the next person).

Storyline (I made it up)

There were two. Two survivors of the fortress. One of them was a hardy dwarf, the other was just a dwarven child. Both were creepy as a result of their hardships in Boatmurdered, passing through several rulers every year whose spirits never seem to stop haunting them, even after they buried their bodies.

To appease them, they created an intricate mechanism much like a dwarven body for the rulers to command in order to found a new dwarven settlement. They loaded him in a caravan full of stuff and sent him away into the unknown.

You are the construct. You have arrived at your destination. It is time to found a new settlement!

Strike the Earth!

Rules:

• Maximum playtime of 1 hour per LPer, not including travel time and grinding. After that, you must pass it on to the next LPer.
• You must record any non-grinding non-traveling footage.
• Your episode must link to the thread.
• You must upload the world after you are finished.
• Try to build things that are relevant. This is not a hard rule and you can pretty much build anything you want as long as it can barely fit the theme of 'something in a dwarven fortress.

Holiday Advent 2013 Map #2 question: Xekaj, are you that evil as to intend the chests being blown up a possibility or am I just very unlucky?

Did first map in 2 tries, second map in 5 tries. Editing videos now.

P.S. I hacked red wool in in Map #2 due to exploding red wool chest.
