Hi, thanks for the replies. The little graph is neat. I usually enchant books unless I need something specific, but all info is good info I don't usually enchant stuff directly as I like the satisfaction of looking at my diamond blocks.

What level do you get the most variety of enchants without wasting xp when you enchant books? I always enchant books below 17 so as to not waste lvls on books that have incompatible enchants, but I'm looking for the sweet spot as I mine a LOT and have set up an enchanting section near my little underground base.
I like to combine my books to get super armor, and I am all set with a couple of really good picks that I have been fixing. Every once in a while I have built up xp over 17 so wait until a higher lvel to enchant something specific... but I am interested in building a better book collection to build up my current books. I use the minecraft enchantment calculator and it seems you can get 11 different possible enchants at lvl 5 and above, so I was thinking of just enchanting every 5 lvls but have you found a better method?'
Also, do you bring your pet dogs mining with you? I just started bringing 3 dogs with me, keep two in a pen as backup, and 1 with me while I mine. I find having one is good for attacking a mob while I'm finding my sword slot (haven't been playing for very long to get used to my bindings). It does occasionally get in the way and I have to make it sit, go around it, and then make it stand back up again... pain in the butt actually. Is there a better way or do you just not bring any dogs with you? If you bring dogs, how many do you prefer?

I only play on my friend's server and haven't ventured out of there yet, but I do plan on it soon.
