I was just thinking of a point to point system (One portal/teleporter directly links to its partener), but your idea also works.

Something like either of these ideas would be great. The minimum distance idea is also good as you can't just spam them around the place.

So minecraft is a great game with huge levels.

It can take a long time to get back to where you were, especially if you started to build a second house there.

So why not have some type of portal or teleporter thing that can quickly zap you between your houses in case of your untimely demise?
