I always thought it would be fantastic if Pokemon could defend you from mobs like the vanilla wolves do.
Any idea if this could ever happen? It would add a lot to the game, I feel.
Obviously it would not really be feasible to make each attack in the game work outside of a Poke Battle context. It would be cool if there was one type of attack for each status effect and each Pokemon would use the most fitting one of those attacks (ie: fire pokemon would cause burn, psychic pokemon cause confusion or sleep). I imagine that some of those status effects would turn out to be pretty similar in their implementation (not sure how to differentiate between burn and poison for example?) But it could be as simple as just having different particle effects on the enemy.
There could be some pokemon that would use healing abilities to keep your hp up rather than attacking your enemy too!
Even if that could not be done, though, just having your Pokemon defend you in the exact same way that wolves do (tackling enemies that you attack or that attack you) would be so useful!
So when I try and start the world up after I create the save, it tells me that I have this long list of missing blocks / items.
Then if I try to start the game anyway, it crashes. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
Is this backwards compatible with old archimedes saves?
Like it won't crash my server or anything if I delete the old one and replace it with this one, right?
The wand tooltip simply does not show the slot at all until the wand holds that aspect the first time. Such as with any new wand it doesn't show ANY Vis amounts until you get some.
It should be able to. I'm getting more and more curious about this as I've never seen anything like this before.
Before I saw your post, I thought I'd try to make a gold-capped wood wand to see if that would have a 6th vis slot (for perditio) but you need perditio vis in order to even MAKE that wand, and it is doing the same thing (showing that the 3.3 perditio I need is missing)
You have an iron capped wooden wand, the lowest tier of wand. As such, costs go up. You can see that clearly in the tool tip of the wand in your screenshot.
However, you should have enough, and it's odd that it is telling you that.

I am fine with paying the extra 10% for now, I should have enough for this: it's only 3.3 perditio including the extra costs. But there are only 5 slots for vis on the wand. Can it not hold any perditio?
Can anyone explain the problem here?
It looks like it is saying I don't have enough Perditio, but the wand clearly has 25 (when only 3.3 should be needed).
Help?
Edit: On second thought, maybe I have 25 ordo, not 25 peditio. but I don't even see a place for perditio... Can Iron capped woodan wands not hold perditio or something?
They don't create more points. When the ones that have the sparkle run out, the last use will use up the sparkle, but that one will regenerate over time. So you can only ever have one free research point per aspect.
Oh. That's odd because I heard someone talking about how they put a bunch of crystals clusters around their table and then after a while they had several hunred points in each primal aspect. Maybe they had an older version?
So the best way to stock up on research points is just to go Node Hunting then?
The clusters really aren't that useful in the early stage then, huh? Because as you are trying things out, you will use up that point pretty quickly.
Could somebody maybe explain Crystal Clusters to me?
I have put them on bookshelves around my research table. I do see the little sparkling light next to certain aspects, but they do not grow in number at all. I have stood by the table to make sure the chunk was loaded for several hours to test and the research points definitely did not increase.
So I have a server that is running LOTR mod version B21.3 on Forge version 10.13.2.1232 and it has always worked fine.
Yesterday I tried updating the server to the newest LOTR version (B23.3) and the server suddenly got really laggy (almost unusable) even when I was the only person on it.
Make backups of your saves, update, then put your saves back into the folder.
So basically...
1. back up world folder in a safe spot
2. download new LANG files from the front page of this thread
3. replace old LANG files
4. paste backed up world save back into the Saves folder
5. Play updated game

What is the best way to update the mod?
I don't want to end up screwing up my current world save but I would love to check out the features from the last few updates!

The grappling hook doesn't seem to work for me?
I right click and it gets tossed up, but no rope comes down and it remains in my inventory.
