I'd say its more accurately the 'lack of' a graphics card (What you have is an integrated graphics chip in the CPU). Naturally there are workaround options such as the Optifine Mod, which gives minecraft the ability to utilize multiple threads and also uses cleaner algorithms for completing math operations. (In other words it makes minecraft run fast) You can also play with the settings in-game at Options-->Video Settings--> And low Render Distance at the top right until it's reasonable and if you DID install optifine, work with some of the options under Performance tab, quality tab
