The restrictions are the unavoidable, non optional, RPG aspects.

And if someone says "play creative" they can suck it. Playing as God gets dull. Having survival is fun, but now it is pushed to the forefront, which distracts from building quite a bit. Its a game changer in a game whose success was build on the sandbox format.

survival never had a primary focus on building. it's focus was on surviving. if you wish to build then you have creative. if you wish to play a game then you have survival.

let me be clear- creative mode is fail. period. so stop using that old and lame response

also, peaceful is pointless. if i wanted to play without the mobs (and thus with zero challenge, which results in boredom), i'd play creative (which again, is a fail mode)

yup your a troll this proves it.

    Creative Mode:
    -You can fly
    -Destroy blocks in one hit
    -limitless access to all material
    -No hunger restriction on creative
    -No damage taken in creative
-You can stay underwater in creative
-slide your difficult to peaceful and you are practically god.

Ok Princess, why are you upset again?
You practically got a whole game catering to everything you want. Everyone of your points isn't a point in Creative Mode...

    Cave Johnson!?!?! YOU ARE REAL!

you make good points, however you do so in an unnecessarily hostile way

i play the game all the time, much more than i spend on the forum. so that's an incorrect statement

the majority of these new features are, in fact, not optional. which makes me wonder, do YOU play the game?

honestly, there's one simple thing notch could do that would fix everyone's concerns: make more option toggles on world creation. he's already got a toggle for villages, why not add some more? mob toggles, pregenerated feature toggles, etc. this would allow us to choose how we want to play, instead of forcing us to play a game we don't want

i'm sure i'm not alone in that i didn't buy minecraft to play a tryhard rpg. i bought minecraft because it allowed me to jump into a massive, randomly generated world, that i could sculpt without limits and create my own goals. pure sandbox gameplay. however, this is not the case anymore. this game is no longer a pure sandbox, and is becoming less so with each update

have you not heard about creative mode? I'd like to point out this line " bought minecraft because it allowed me to jump into a massive, randomly generated world, that i could sculpt without limits and create my own goals. pure sandbox gameplay." what you said was not possible before creative mode was put in(outside of mods or really old versions of the game). before you had to find every block and you had to make tools before you could mine some blocks. in what way is that without limits? not only that but you say something about not having monsters on. right so there has always been peaceful mode and that also takes away hunger from your argument. the only logical thing I can think right now is that you are a troll because what you are saying makes no sense at all. if this is what you truly wanted then creative mode would have made your day maybe even your life. but for someone reason you believe it takes away your choice of how to shape your world.

I would make one if I had a server or a PC that stayed on 24/7. I would make one and it would be ****ing FABULOUS. Freaking milk and honey would pour from the sky.

well nothing sort of the streets being paved with gold would make me interested :tongue.gif:

The age part is quite offensive.

meh not really. if they want to play with older people there's nothing wrong with that unless they tried to force everyone to play like that

also toys aren't fun in the long run. look at spore. it was fun for a bit sure but it wasn't really game it was a toy and that's what it wasn't very popular. toys are limited in what you can do and games...games are nigh on limitless

by restrictions, i'm talking about things that impede the freedom of play. things like hunger. aesthetic restrictions are things like the biomes, which ultimately alter the overall "feel" of the game

granted, there are tons of new things that have been added that are awesome, but is it really worth the downsides?

also, there's plenty of features that were added half-assed. an example of this is the colored wool / dye system. instead of fixing the problem, notch half-assed it and made the problem worse (colored sheep? really?). also there's still no fix for brown dye. while you can get brown wool from sheep, there's no way to obtain it legitimately otherwise without finding a dungeon (which is generally a difficult task)

Hunger? colored wool being hard to get? um maybe you should try playing in creative mode....it's rather creative :tongue.gif:
