Figured you would like to know that someone stole the coding right from under you (http://www.planetminecraft.com/mod/laser-shader-132-complete/) and tried to post it as their own; pathetic, really, since they even took the banner! I tried to flag it but aparently someone who has no posts on planet minecraft has no swing in this. Maybe you could do something about it?

The only reason that people say Minecraft was epic back then is because they had never seen anything like it before. About 2 1/2 years after its first release, the shine of this new great thing has worn off. We should all be happy we still view something like this as great or even good.

I would love to see you conduct this again, with 40-50 people and a 300x300 area. If you do this again it would be fantastic if you could record all of it then condense it into a 15 minute timelapse. Fantastic work

He's referencing the war over resources. October was the milestone last year that marked the fact that the world did not produce enough food to feed everyone. Period. Things like oil among other things will most likely be a luxury in 50 years assuming we don't start using renewable resources more and things like electric cars. This world is going on a vertical decline right now and isn't showing any sign of improving.

That's because the latest version of optifine is in 1.2.5. We're almost at 1.3, 99.1% updated, COME ON!

No, I was using the 1.3.1 preview.

posted a message on Where has the Minecraft Mod Index gone?
Probably became too much to handle for the people updating it. It would of easilly taken a team of 40 people to keep every mod in the index updated now, where as when it was first made it would of only taken a few people. The modding community has grown a lot for Minecraft.

I don't know if anyone else has ran into this problem, but upon installing the latest version of optifine I have found that when using the default texture pack. The iron texture seems to be upside-down. I don't have this problem with any other texture pack.

^What he said. Hopefully someday Mojang will add menus and menus of world custimization for people like me who would spend an hour tweaking their world, but for now, we have to deal with it.

Is Chunky completely updated yet to recognize all blocks? I've been having a hard time rendering some of my builds that I made in snapshots.

Honestly, I hate when modders wait till the official release to even look at the new code... Like they gave us pretty much final 1.3 pre release one week before the actual release. But I doubt he even began to look at it. I don't like that ****, they give us pre releases for a ****ing reason

Actually, we got prerelease 1.3, and the update was released as 1.3.1, so the changes put in it probably would of broke the mods again. Go rant somewhere else.

You guys are funny. Optifine won't do much for anybody; all it will help with is basic rendering. The real problem is that single player now creates a temporary server that will be enclosed to your world.
That said, Optifine is client-side. Not much we can do about that, seeing as they only create a temporary server to host your world in, which cannot be modified as it is deleted as you close your world and cannot be edited while in use by Java. 1.3.1=Less lag spikes, but not much we can do to fix what exsites.

Now, for what we can do. If you are really needing a performance boost, you can set up a local server. All you have to do is download the server and set it up (for more info just google "setting up a local Minecraft server"). Then open Minecraft and go to multiplayer. Click "add server" and name it whatever you want. For address, simply name it "localhost", all one word. (Note that you do not have to port-forward while doing this; this will be strictly local) What you have just done is set up a local server like 1.3.1 does, but this one is permanent, without the limitations of it being deleted when you exit (and yes, for all of you out there that wish the new SPC had all of multiplayer's commands, it now does, you just have to add yourself to the admin list).

The final step is something I will leave to you; do some research and find some performance-enhancing mods for servers. This, although much more complicated than just installing Optifine into your Minecraft jar (which I still highly reccomend for 1.3.1, as rendering is half the load) is the best way to set yourself on your way to better fps in 1.3.1. (no more depending on one mod, that would be too easy)
