    Quality or Free

Pick one. The two do not coexist for a MMO that requires server upkeep plus content patching/tweaking.

Its light years ahead of the stand alone at this point. My group had a server running a good 6 months but school started and stopping us from moderating it properly. Napf is my new founded Arma 2 map because how varied it is and so many good places to build but we had ours on Taviana which has a good balance of space to build and hotspots for encounters.

That's less "difficulty" and more "the game basically requires a wiki to play".

More like patience and exploration. A practice that is being lost in RPGs these days with auto guidence quest objective icons ahem,, Skyrim..

Dark Souls just reeks of bad game design rather than actual difficulty.

Of course... a game isn't suppose to beat the player. Its suppose to support a player.

The mistakes you make in the game are your mistakes, there are very few circumstances where the game is at fault. Leading overheads is the largest problem but even that can be beaten beyond that there is a way to overcome everything.

None of the elder scroll games are action RPGs

Well if its not action, then is it a story driven RPG? Because if thats the case the game is terrible if thats what its going for... Baldurs gate, Mass Effect, and Dragon age are what I describe RPGs. They are turn based D&D style like games the latter two have it so you can go into "action mode" that emulate it flowing freely but the old school RPG mechanics are still there.

Now beyond that it seems everyone is being nice and let Skyrim pass as an RPG at all here. The focus on character development in every aspect is very slim much more so then Dark Souls or other Elder Scrolls even to the point it can draw so many comparisons to a action adventure game like Watch Dogs, Assassin's Creed and even Killer is Dead and similar. Sure you have a skill tree so does the other three games, your choices in the game do not affect the world in the slightest nor do you have a choice beyond maybe one or two pre-determined quest lines. Don't forget each three have very similar scenarios "oh your the dragonborn (or enter clan name here)" compared to "oh its the vigilante on TV" or "oh its an Assassin" is not an affect on the world.

Both games are completely different, it's like trying to compare Mario and Uncharted 3.

They are both RPGs so no its not like trying to compare a platformer and a action adventure game.

Everyone likes to rave about Morrowind having more atmosphere than Skyrim, etc. but the combat system looks to be completely unworkable. Whether your shot hit the enemy or not should be based on, uh, aim, and not a RNG.

Well combat in Skyrim isn't exactly great either... Dark Souls trumps Skyrim in that department mainly because an object three times as larger than the character only stumbles you in Skyrim, in Dark Souls you're knocked down with decent mechanics to get away quickly via rolls and not just strafing.

posted a message on Metal Gear Solid 5 coming to PC confirmed, Steam pages available.

    Its about time!

Kojima announced that both Ground Zeros and Phantom Pain are coming to PC and with a nifty little video to show off their plans.

    Steam pages:

    Ground Zero

    Phantom Pain

I knew it was going to happen eventually and supposedly there has been traces of it on steam for around 5 months already; but I am still excited, as a long time fan of MGS series I will can't wait to see what it has to offer.

posted a message on Why I believe Batman: Arkham Origin's is a terrible game
Or you could of just said the game was bad because its arkham city with %40 (all of it pretty useless and bland and 10% being the bridge) more land mass to explore and the least interesting story line of the three games.

posted a message on Ubisoft is telling the truth when they say they could not add female character to Assassins Creed Unity
    Quote from _Gaia_

Pretty sure there was a prominent female character in either AC II or Brotherhood, but the female voice actor died in a car crash so they couldn't carry on.

Also the main character of that AC short film was a female.

There's actually an entire game based on one which had a "HD" remake for consoles, then you have the templar/assassin chick from the first two.

posted a message on When playing single-player RPGs, do you prefer...
Witcher is my favorite RPG series so far, Baldurs Gate coming in second but sadly only one game recently attempted too do the same thing and have the other party be actual players not just NPC's.

So if party means other players I will always prefer that over single player experiences granted the game pulls it off well.

DICE is making it and most likely on Frostbite so I am not getting my hopes up at all... Hit registry errors with projectiles popping off light sabers will not be fun.

You have to understand though. I think it's a good thing, I would hate for the WiiU to be the same thing as an Xbox One or PS4. It's it's own thing. It's a great companion.

Define great competition. Because right now AAA publishers are not even attempting to make ports of the "next generation" line up for the Wii U anymore. The gamecube strived to beat its competition in every way game wise (RE4 deal with capcom biggest example to get ahead early over its competition), hardware wise it trumped Sony's platform and kept up with the xbox and especially ergonomically superior in every way the controller and the entire layout of the platform has been the best design for the entire package deal durable, comfortable, and economical.

So to me when I think of the gamecube I am reminded how great Nintendo use strive for the best things and looking now seeing the last two platforms they released I fail to see that and I would have never dropped Nintendo if they continued it.

Great console, great controller, good games. Too bad Nintendo doesn't think so anymore and try to strive for a gamecube 2.0 and instead went the Wii route.
