Is it legal for me to buy a, for example, WoW gift code and trade it for a minecraft gift code, in order to circumvent the required authenticator for my bank's website? I assume you can't answer for Blizzard, but I'm fairly sure you know your own rules indepth(I couldn't see anything about this on your terms).

Though if you include shipping that leaves you about 130 for the video card, its up to how much you want to spend i guess, good cards in that range are of course the HD 5770 and the GTS 450, unless you want to go to a way cheaper card.
That's pretty much just the price/performance mix I was looking for. However, the rebate on the graphics card expires on the 15th. I'm not going to order it until tomorrow. It says that I print it. Will HIS have to receive the rebate by then, or does it have to be sent by then?

Sometimes there's an activation time. I got one from Wachovia that can be used anywhere a normal credit card can. Make sure that you "register" it, if you can. They'll often activate at checkout, but not register until you do it online. Did any papers come with it that would point you in the right direction?

Don't, ever, ever, ever, get a Rosewill PSU, or any other offbrand one.
PSU is not worth skimping on, they short out, explode, start fires, and can fry your entire 1k+ dollar computer just cause you cheap out 20-30 bucks, not worth it.
I'm willing to spend up to $200 on the whole thing, although I'd rather not spend any more than $180. This leaves me with 2 questions:
1. What's a good brand that sells reasonably priced PSUs? (I don't need all 700 watts, but I think 550 is the lowest I'd want to go.)
2. Is the video card okay?
Hey everyone. I bought a new computer a while ago, and it was a prebuilt. I knew I was going to have to upgrade the PSU and the GPU from the start, but that was okay. It was a fantastic deal, so I had to take it.
Now that it comes time to actually buy the GPU/PSU, I'm freaking out. I'm not sure if I'll get the right thing, enough power, if I'll be wasting money, etc. Anyway, I've found a good card, and I'm pretty sure it's just what I need. I don't need anything excessively strong, but not too weak. The card I'm looking at is the Sapphire Radeon HD 5770. Now, while I was looking through the reviews, I found two things that alarmed me.
1. It has a high chance of being faulty, and Sapphire has terrible customer service.
2. It will go to above 100 degrees Celsius on very rare occasions.
Now, it seems to me like a bit of a gamble. 86% of the reviews are 4+ stars. 14% are 3 or lower. I'd rather not pay $130 for a 3-star product. That leaves me with a 14% chance of a faulty (or generally poor) card. Since people are saying Sapphire has terrible customer service, this worries me quite a bit. I'd like to think that since most of the people say "didn't work, installed drivers, now it works," that the people with "faulty" cards must just have the wrong drivers. I'm not going to convince myself that that's true, however.
The second problem really worries me. While I understand that's only on peaks, that's enough to boil water. Now, I don't know much about computer temperatures, but I'm pretty sure that my prebuilt couldn't handle 60 degrees Celsius. Could I be wrong? It has a built in case fan, and the card itself has a fan, but I don't want anything melting on me. I've heard that certain chemicals can help prevent that, but I honestly don't think I'm responsible enough to reply it at (frequent?) intervals.
There are several other 5770s that have better ratings, but most of them are significantly more expensive. I picked this one because it's coupled with a 700 watt PSU for $150. I've looked into getting the GTS 450, as those are around the same price, but there seems to (usually) be a gap in performance, with the 5770 leading. Of course, that's all my observations, I could just be seeing bad results.
Also, I've been looking at this power supply. It seems to be significantly cheaper than most of the others around that wattage, but the reviews are a bit unnerving. Faulty stuff everywhere, poor SATA connectors, (no idea what that means) and Rosewill won't cover anything that it destroys, should it happen to destroy anything. It has an 81% 4+ star frequency, so I'd think that it only destroys everything in extreme cases.
It does turn me away from this combo a little, however. Because of that, I'm wondering if A) I should get it anyways, or :cool.gif: I should get something else. If so, what should I get? I'd like it to be at least as strong as the 5770, and at least a 550 watt power supply. I prefer ATI cards over NVidia, but I might be willing to change that opinion should a good option be presented. My budget is $200, although I'd rather not spend more than $180.
