Now some suggestions: You could mix things up with an accent material on future builds. Nothing but Cobblestone can be hard to look at sometimes. Add some wood or something to the walls to make it pop. Try different looks and see what you like most. Also, you can add more dimension to the build. Have some parts of the wall extended outwards. Just make things look less like big rectangles of cobble on top of each other. Most importantly, make sure you like how it looks! Hope this helps a bit.

Its actually pretty funny, I actually did everything you suggested this morning even before I read your reply....weirdddd 0_o :tongue.gif:

Hm, the Minecraft Force is strong with this one.

I'm assuming you're using INVedit, Single Player Commands or Too Many Items, judging by the glowstone, but I don't care. For a first house, it's pretty damn good.

Thank you kind sir, and actually no i didn't use any cheats, I just went into the nether and built a cobblestone tower to the nearest glowstone hive :tongue.gif:

Ok guys, here are the updated picturesssss =). Im going for a "wood and stone" theme. Ive added a smooth stone half-step walkway (to make it around the torches) and I <3 fences with torches on top, so I've added a few :tongue.gif:. If you couldn't tell already, I am extremely OCD when it comes to the symmetry of the house. So I have a dilemma, should i keep the "look 1" and keep my skylight intact or go with the "look 2", which is a lot more "complete" looking in my opinion and more attractive, but my skylight is goneee. Opinions are welcome as always as to what I can do to improve it :smile.gif:

Look #1 (with skylight still intact)

Look #2: more aesthetically pleasing but no skylight =(

    Why the skylight disappears -___-

    no skylight

Thanks a lot for the kind words, actually I am in the process of adding more wooden accents to the house, screenshot will be up shortly (only front of the house is upgraded so far) =)...

Ok so I've been trying to build a ladder system up the back of my house, BUT one layer always starts disappearing as i move away from it, and i tried all things (moving the ladders sideways, sticking them out and even trying on the other sides of my house) but no avail -____-. Please offer a solution. It will be greatly appreciated

the 4th set of ladders from the bottom (2nd from top)...starts dissapearing while the other ladders don't

    Quote from Shalasax

Hey Miners, this is essentially my first build on minecraft with much help from my friend ThunderCaptain. What we've done is after travelling a ways we found a mountain (?) that had what looked like a island on top. We havent done anything with the very top except add massive trees, but the main part was to hollow out the island and recreate it with glass. when outside or inside it give you a very cool feel because the glass looks generated when it usually cannot be so natural looking. Ill call it the Glass Mountain, tell me what you think! Thanks!

Here is the view from far away:

Also can someone tell me how to put an image right on this page?

    Here is the interior:

unless that actually madethe images appear:P im new to forums haha:)

both images are the same :tongue.gif:

Lol it is my first house, it initially was a long-house sort of abomination (30 blocks x 4 blocks high) and i didn't like it, so i cut it in half essentially and built a pyramidical structure. And why did the gentleman above say "glowstone on your first house"?...i used it because torches on the walls didn't prevent mobs from spawning while i sleep :tongue.gif:

Also...can anyone give me tips on how to make a better way to access the higher floors? (instead of the ladders)...but i would prefer if i didn't have to do any major reconstruction :smile.gif:
