Am I the only one who doesn't get what other people see in the Xbox version? The PC version has nearly unlimited worlds, hundreds of people on the same server, easier controls, mods, texture packs and you don't have to pay for skins. In my eyes, that's easily worth and extra $7.
I feel like Technic or FTB (or any other 'modpacks' for that matter) would kind of be cheating for something like this, since they're more or less seen as one mod by now plus you only need to install one thing.
The most individual mods I've had once was the Butterflies mod, More Animals, More Creepers and More Ores (Plus Forge and Optifine but I don't think those really count). Played for a couple days before I got tired of constantly going back to the mods' wikis.
Since then I usually just install one mod, test it out for some time, and decide whether or not it's worthwhile keeping and playing later.

I tried the free online version (.30) and I thought that it wasn't that good. A few weeks later I looked at the current full version, and after watching some videos of it on youtube I decided to get it. Two years later and it's still the best $14 I've ever spent. I joined late september 2010, version 1.1.2_01 alpha.
Damn, this thread is making me feel old, having bought the game in Alpha 1.1.2 and all.
Usually I only use creative to find new features that were added in the latest update, or features from a mod I downloaded. I don't use it for redstone because if there's something I want to test out I'll just use one of my main survival worlds, particularly one where I've amassed a large amount of redstone from previous mining ventures.
