    Character Description:

    A rather rough looking man, Eli tends to keep to himself. His voice is deep and scratchy, matching his appearance rather well. Underneath the hard, intimidating furrowed brow and sandpaper cheeks lies many tender secrets, locked away from the world's ever piercing eyes. Even though he prefers a peaceful lifestyle, he will protect himself when in danger. He is a skilled workman, proficient in mining and construction, as well as farming and raising livestock. One may often see Eli in a marketplace, selling his surplus resources.

    Character Quirks:
    Although strong and independent, Eli has a fear of dying alone that occasionally tingles in the back of his thoughts. He also has a soft spot for children and may make irrational decisions in the possibility of protecting them from danger. He secretly wishes to have his own child someday.

    Homeland: Erinn, the "Paradise" land, overrun and destroyed by a dark race of monsters.


    Character Backstory:
    On a crisp Autumn morning, a baby is born.. Unfortunately, not in the comfort of a farm on a sunny hillside. The child is birthed, wrapped in a crude blanket, then left in the back room of a moldy, run-down inn. Attached to the baby is a crumpled note that reads, "My name is Talfryne." The parents are nowhere to be found, and are completely unknown. Leave it to the widowed seamstress to find the abandoned baby on a quiet, fateful evening.

    Fast forward a few years, young Talfryne Eli lives a privileged life under the roof of wealthy Nora Eli, in the town Dunbarton. The news that she had found the baby escalated from "The poor woman found a baby" to "The brave woman rescued the helpless baby from certain doom!". This had given her much attention, and she was able to earn a modest fortune. She's even made robes for some of the King's officials! Little Talfryne Eli recieved a strong education, and learned many helpful skills for living independently.

    As Talfryne grew, he eventually became curious about his biological parents. The story that he had been abandoned stabbed and tore his heart like ten swords to a tomato. He learned that if it wasn't for Nora, Talfryne may have never been found, and would have died. Talfryne couldn't handle the facts, and stopped going by his birth name, instead going by his given last name. As time passed, Eli became tolerant of his origins, but kept using the name Eli. He's not entirely sure why.

    On a clear, Winter night, a shrill scream slices through the frosted air. Eli, now 19, shoots out of bed in instant alarm. He rushes to his mother's room, and finds a dark figure looming over her bed. It turns slowly, glaring at Eli with piercing, icy blue eyes. Blood drips from its mouth onto the floor and Eli bolts away. The creature belts out a hideous roar and chases after the boy. Through the snow and ice and without shoes, Eli dashes through the streets of Dunbarton, winding through alleys and streets and through the plazas, only to find more creatures, seemingly at every turn. A few soldiers emerge from a tavern and rush after the creatures. The blue-eyed creature grabs Eli's foot and dangles him helplessly in the chilly air. With another hideous roar, Eli blacks out.

    He wakes with a jump and a shout, breathing heavily, eyes darting around. He's in a bedroom at the tavern. Music plays on the other side of the door, and a solemn collective mumble hovers in the air. Eli leaves the room and finds a few of the soldiers, and they explain that this wasn't that first attack. Many towns have been attacked in past months. Eli tells the soldier that his mother had been killed, and he barely escaped, and the soldier, named Ranald, offers to bring Eli to his home to train him. Eli agrees.

    For a few years, Eli trains for the army. He hones his skills with a sword and bow, and also learns key survival skills, such as finding resources and building shelter. However, after Eli's first real battle as a soldier, he decides that he isn't mentally capable of dealing with the effects of war, and leaves without so much as a goodbye. Using the life skills he learned from Nora, and the battle skills he learned from Ranald, Eli boarded the next ship to the distant land of Aldeiron. Even now, he regrets not saying goodbye or giving his thanks to Ranald. However, now he's stuck in a completely foreign world, now on the verge of war, with no money or goals. But he's not looking back.

    posted a message on Crash with Forge 1.6.4 - Many Mods, Pixelmon
    Okay, so in a small Pixelmon server I play on, the owner has compiled a pretty big modpack that includes about 16 mods. The first version of the pack worked flawlessly, however, he has made a new version, and suddenly I cannot run it. I'm placing the files in the correct places, I've tried reinstalling forge, reinstallign the modpack, redownloading my entire .minecraft folder, all to no avail. However, Forge wil lrun completely fine on it's own without these mods added. Nobody else on the server is having issues. In fact, two of my friends are playing on the server as I type this.

    When I first tried out this pack, I didn't have any access to connected textures.
    I thought it was all right, but wasn't too impressed.

    Now that I've finally gotten Optifine, I decided to give this pack another go. One of my friends said it was really nice.
    AND SHE DIDN'T LIE! Connected textures make a world of difference! I love absolutely everything in the pack!
    I couldn't resist making some sappy post. I'm going to be using this pack for a long time. Keep up the jaw-dropping work, and I'm being 100% serious, it left me in awe. So many creative uses of so many blocks (Especially the doubleslab top of cobble!)

    My advice is to keep all of your builds that you're unsatisfied with. Keep making more and more builds in this mosh of "bad" builds, each time trying to better yourself. Study your builds, and look for places where you could improve. "This wall looks a little bland, I could add some depth!" "Is roof looks strange, maybe if I make it out of a different block!"

    When you throw away "bad" builds, you throw away a lesson learned, the things you don't like that you can later use as a guide of what you need to avoid. Hope this helps.

    A long time ago in my middle school days, I drew a picture of a cyborg potato.

    Terminator + 'Tater = Taterinator. Then I added an "i" prefix and slipped an 8 in there somewhere. I don't even why.
    So now I'm stuck with iTaterin8r. LOL

    I want to change it so bad. The potato thing kinda sticks for some reason. I've been going with "SirTaters" or just "Taters" recently.

    Why do you prefer playing in a small community?: The biggest reason is because small communities are the most personal! With the larger servers, it's pretty much impossible to communicate with anyone unless you have some form of authority. With smaller servers, everyone's voice is heard! I love forming friendships with many people on servers, which is just too difficult on the larger ones.
    What is your favorite aspect of playing on a server with vanilla-like gameplay?: It makes me feel at home. Everything is simple and familiar without those lame plugins and the who-whats and the i-don't-evens. Minecraft is just fine how it is, it doesn't need all that nonsense.

    Tell us something about yourself: Well, my name is iTaterin8r, obviously, but most people just call me Tater (or Tooter, to my closer friends. Cute, right? hah). I tend to build more rustic/medieval styled builds, but it's always fun to experiment. However, unlike my building skills, I can't work with redstone to save my life. I made a hidden hole in the floor with pistons, but that's about as complex as I can get. Like no joke.
    Why should we accept you?: Because reasons. Kidding. I know what it's like to deal with people who disregard all rules ever in the server and act like complete idiots because "lol im boss k swag". I will follow all of the rules to the best of my ability and try to help the community when I can. I also bring the party. Woop woop.

    The purple is my magic room. Might change the color.
    Should I change the white glass to gray/dark gray? I think the white is a bit much.


    The back of my castle is still pretty much nonexistent. :P

    Wow, I love the update!
    However, I get this glitch with the water in 1.6.4.



    It only does this in my 1.6.4 server, but works fine in 1.7
    Not that it's a big deal, just wondering. It didn't do this before.
    The update is great! So much awesome content added and renewed.

    However, the stained glass is a bit too much to me. Looks like nighttime constantly inside my houses, haha.
    May I try experimenting with the glass to make it a little more translucent? It's the only turn off in the pack for me.

    I love your stained glass, but honestly, I wish it was a bit more translucent. I like to use the black/gray stained glass as windows with default textures, but I can't see very well outside of them with yours. This new glass looks cleaner, but still looks close to opaque.
    However, if you intentionally made them opaque, sorry for stomping all over your creative decisions. D:

    I'm not meaning to sound critical. It's just something that I kept noticing in my survival worlds/servers.
    Anyways, keep up the amazing work! I absolutely love your texture pack. I'll definitely be using it for a long time.
