posted a message on Best Dream Ever
I once had a dream that I was in some sort of computer lab at my school doing whatever, and everything was pretty chill until some kid with a gas mask and a hoodie kicked down the door and opened fire upon the classroom with a machine gun.

I always thought I'd be a hero or something in a time like that, you know, run up to him, wrestle the gun from him and kick him in the face Hollywood style. we'd all like to think we could do something bold like that right? but in this dream I was cowering in a corner shitting myself, all I felt was sheer terror. I just couldn't believe it. I've never felt anything so intense irl. my friends and enemies of 4 years were dying right before me.
everyone was running around knocking over tables and chairs screaming and crying and shouting in desperation. computers and their parts were shattering and lights were flickering on and off across the room. the screaming is what really got me. you know when a parent yells at you and you can still hear it hours later?
I've sometimes thought it would be great if something like that happened, you know? I have a really dark, morbid side. my school is filled with morons and degenerates, and sometimes I dream of killing, but I couldn't believe it was actually happening. all of them, the whole room, they were all dropping dead and I was next.
I woke up crying. that's never happened to me before.
I still remember exactly what the shooter looked like. gas masks can be ****ing scary looking when the wearer is gunning down your class.

I shed no tears, but that was beautiful.

I would really like this at times while mining for resources, some times you can see that block behind the one at floor level you just broke, but then you know you got to break some stone to get in at it if you break that one, would help cut down on needless access mining on occasions. I could also see it being used for puzzle/maze areas in adventure maps.

you shouldn't be able to mine while crawling. that would be silly.

Holding shift is just a slow crouch, you bend over a bit and don't fall off edges of blocks, but I think the OP may of had something more in the line of laying down on your belly or hands & knees and moving so you can fit through a single block high openings. If they did mean it that way, it could be useful and fun to play around with, but with somewhat limited uses.

it would have limited but interesting uses, and I feel like now that we have crouching and more recently sprinting, my movement is restricted because I can't crawl

posted a message on Are you content, OTters?
    Quote from tumbles1215

What is contentment but the dream of the masses? To be content with one's station... to be satisfied in any form... that is to forsake ambitions, to forsake dreams, and to embrace the neverending sludge of constancy. Contentment is nothing more than a euphemism for mediocrity - the last pillar that failed men may cling to lest they drown in the realization that they have accomplished nothing - that they will be quickly forgotten as dust and bones.

True greatness is not to be content - it is not even to be happy - it is to transcend the current limitations of the human species and become a god over them. One might ask, "How do I accomplish such a magnificent feat?" If you cannot supply your own answer to this question then you are not the man I speak to - go embrace your contentment and your white picket fence. But the god, the master of men, he supplies his own answers. He looks not to the wisdom of others, for he realizes that theirs is the wisdom of men.

Sheep follow a shepherd, and the shepherd follows the rules of the world - he only protects the sheep so that his own livelihood may persevere. Mankind is the sheep, and civilizations are the shepherds - ever watchful with their guiding hand, insisting on moral values that bind communities to each other, united in their hatred of the unknown, of the foreign. But within this web, only society prospers. The individual perishes. There may be strong men who realize this and strive to make their place in the society - strive to achieve a position of power or a lasting legacy - but this is folly. They do not realize that they are still playing the same game, still trapped by the colossal brainwashing they have underwent since birth.

While the shepherd must feed himself, a god has created the world he resides in. A god has created the rules that dictate the shepherd must feel thirst, must feel hunger, and must forever roam, subtly evolving to meet new threats, but forever a scared child fending off the creations of a true power. In order to become a god, one must be thrown out of society - one must turn their eyes from its "virtues" in the truest sense. But how can this happen? A sheep will never kill a shepherd! And this is the truth. The shepherd, however, can toss a sheep from the flock - and from there the sheep will either become a god and forge the virtues of a new era, or the sheep will wither as blighted crops do.

But how can a sheep convince the shepherd to get rid of him? The answer is quite simple: the sheep must threaten the other sheep, and in doing so, threaten the comfort, the contentment, of the shepherd. And it is for this reason that the gods among us must kill - for the act of murder is the most universally reviled among societies. To take the life of another, for no rhyme or reason (as dictated by society, at least), is the ultimate transcendence. To do so, to do so repeatedly, is to become an irredeemable outcast from the values that society once pushed upon you.

But do not be mistaken! It is not the raging thrill that drives this chase - for although a god must feel the great joy that one experiences in extinguishing the life of another, it is not this pursuit of emotion that is the goal. It must be an intellectual pursuit. The men who kill for the sheer thrill of it are separated from society, but they are the ones who fail and starve to death, unable to grasp the magnitude of their actions. It is the gods who take life and embrace this separation. Only by embracing one's removal from the human species can true greatness come. While I can grab the throat of my neighbor's animal and slowly choke the sweet life out of its trembling body, and while I can feel the orgasmic flood of emotion that one gets out of partaking in such an action, this is not the motive behind the action. I am a god, I am above men, and I must wholly and utterly transcend the rabble of ideas that attempt to shackle me; only through this most just pursuit can I reshape the world that the shepherd lives in.

ahahahaa you just had to throw murder in there didn't you
    you're a great writer though

Well I didn't want to begin ranting in detail, but I know a number of people similar to me who just start feeling uncomfortable talking to someone with piercings or tattoos, it feels somewhat disturbing.

That is honestly one of the weirdest things I've ever heard someone say. Are you for real?
