    posted a message on [1.8.7]SineCraft v2.2 - 7.15.2015

    Welcome to SineCraft! Now v2.2!

This resource pack is (finally) compatible with Minecraft v1.8.x!

    -------------------------------------------------------

    New Releases:

    SineCraft v2.2 - 7.15.2015

With this release, skins for all the regular sets of armor (not including Chainmail) have been added. That's all for now!

    GOOGLE DRIVE: http://adf.ly/1KrRRF

    SineCraft v2.1 - 7.14.2015

This release brings some minor changes and fixes a small oversight. As for changes, I have modified the designs of the iron bars, both trapdoors, and all of the dyes (thanks go to xiondisc for the suggestions.) Additionally, the fire particle effect was larger and redder than it should have been; this was an oversight and it has been toned down a bit.

The next release will likely be a major update. I still haven't provided a GUI for whatever the beacon is. I've also began working on mob skins, but I currently only have the Ocelots done. The work is slow and I'd like to finish at least most of them before doing another release so I wouldn't expect it to come quickly. After mobs, I plan to at least do the armor, but I wouldn't hold out for paintings. If anyone would like to help me with paintings, mobs, armor, or any other 3D things that I'm not great at skinning, I would very gladly accept!

After mobs and armor are complete I will obviously continue to update SineCraft for any new Minecraft builds. However, the primary focus will likely shift to mod packs. At the very least I'm currently interested in supporting the majority of FTB Infinity and whatever the latest build of Tekkit is. If demand is high, I might also put up a website for SineCraft with that awesome customizer all the cool resource pack authors are using ;)

Who knows what the future holds?

    SineCraft v2.0 - 7.11.2015

    IT'S DONE!

Not really, but the goal for v2.0 was only to get the pack to at least the same completion state it was in before I took a hiatus, and at this point I have far surpassed that state. With this update I have finished adding new assets for every survival item and block texture, and I feel that the pack is ready to go out of pre-release in it's current state. Regular version updates will follow from now on.

This release does not include spawn eggs and a handful of other creative-only items, nor does it include some special effects overlays, etc. that I will probably just leave as defaults. 3D textures for armor, mobs, or paintings are also not included; those will come in a future update.

Okay, so let's discuss the update! New textures are in for Nether Quartz and Podzol Dirt (thanks xiondisc!) to correct their mismatched look in the last pre-release. As before, every default item left in the last pre-release has been redrawn to match the SineCraft style.

Let's talk about dye powder - for now, I'm going with a unified 'powder pile' design for every dye color. In the future I may decide to draw unique textures for each color of powder, but the goal of SineCraft has always been to make each item easily identifiable; I feel like the new powder design does that very nicely.

The Armor Stand world textures are in the early stages and will probably be tweaked in the future, but for now it's serviceable.

    -------------------------------------------------------

    About SineCraft:

SineCraft is a 16x16 texture pack featuring clean lines and simple designs.

This is my first 'from scratch' Minecraft texture pack. I guess it would best fit into the 'simple texture pack' category. At first glance it's loaded with simple and minimalist designs. On further inspection you might see a little modernism thrown in for good measure. But if you look very closely you might find that this pack is more than meets the eye.

In any case, I wanted to create a pack where each block could be easily identified. The color palette and some of the block designs are inspired by Doku's RPG texture set, and some of the items were inspired by vamediah's item set. I also ditched the normal Cobble style in favor of a brick style.

    -------------------------------------------------------

    Additional Stuff:

If you like the pack, please support it by using the following signature!

    SCREENSHOTS

    SineCraft v2.2:

    -------------------------------------------------------

    CHANGELOG

    v2.0 Pre-Release 5 - 7.8.2015

With this update I have created a new panoramic for the title screen. I have also animated flowing water and lava (what a pain in the ass that was!) Additionally, I've never been happy with the way the old mosaic pattern lava looked, so I've created a new lava texture that resembles the water texture.

    v2.0 Pre-Release 4 - 7.8.2015

In this update I've again tweaked the tall grass to better match the biome gradients (Thanks to xiondisc for helping with that!) I've also added all the double-tall plants.

    v2.0 Pre-Release 3 - 7.7.2015

The hits just keep on coming. This is mainly a UI update - most of the UIs are now complete, including the creative UIs, with notable exceptions being the achievement and beacon UIs. I have also fixed a lot of minor issues, i.e. incorrect side/top textures on the jukebox, an alignment oversight with the compass, and tall grass contrast (it should now blend in much better with grass blocks.) I have only slightly modified the detector texture but I consider that one finished for now, it actually matches the SineCraft style pretty well by default. Additionally, I have added/tweaked a few more items, but there are still a ton of them that haven't been redrawn.

More to come soon, stay tuned for the next release!

    v2.0 Pre-Release 2 - 7.7.2015

With this release I have taken SineCraft back to the old mosaic style from way back before v1.0! Back in the pre-1.0 days I had changed the original mosaic pattern to one that tiled better, but in reality I've never been happy with this change. I've always felt that the clean lines of the original SineCraft mosaic style and the blocky nature of Minecraft went really well together.

Now, let's talk content - in this update I have added a ton of assets that were missing from the last pre-release! At this stage, there are only a few block/terrain textures left that haven't been done yet! All of the crops are done, most of the foliage is done, and pretty much all terrain blocks are done (water temple blocks aren't done.) Items and GUI are still not complete either, but I'm working on them so please be patient! :D

I've ported the textures for boats, minecarts, etc. Additionally, I've created brand-new textures for the hopper, the control block, and most of the Redstone circuitry blocks that were missing them before (I think the detector is the only one I haven't done yet.)

    v2.0 Pre-Release 1 - 7.6.2015
So, it's been a few years! I've finally began the long process of updating the entire pack for 1.8.x! At this stage, I've mostly just ported over what was already present in the last SineCraft release. I have added a few of the new blocks/items, but the vast majority are still stock or unfinished (thus, this is a Pre-Release.) I will keep working on the pack over the next few weeks releasing small updates as I go along. If anyone finds any bugs or misaligned blocks, please let me know! Thanks for your patience, everyone. I know this took a lot longer than it should have; I just haven't had the time :/

    v1.2.0 - 6.4.2012
This update makes SineCraft compatible with Minecraft v1.2.5. I have added the new wooden plank textures. That's about it for new stuff.

    v1.1.1 - 3.4.2012

I've fixed jungle saplings, which were incorrect in v1.1.0 due to an oversight on my part. Thanks to xiondiscthree for pointing this out!

    v1.1.0 - 3.3.2012
SineCraft is now compatible with the Minecraft 1.2.x update, including 1.2.3. All of the new blocks and items have been added. I have also changed the signature code, so please update your SineCraft sigs!

    v1.0.1 - 2.12.2012
This update fixes Redstone Wire. It seems Mojang made a minor change to the way Redstone Wire textures are pulled from terrain.png, and I failed to notice that while working on SineCraft v1.0.0.

    v1.0.0 - 2.7.2012
Minecraft v1.1 is out, and SineCraft has been updated accordingly. In addition, SineCraft v14 was to be the 'final 1.0' release of SineCraft; I would have continued to update the pack, but the core textures would no longer change after this release. As such, SineCraft will use the vX.X.X versioning scheme from now on to better represent it's 1.0 status.

    v14 Pre-Release 4 -- 12.25.2011
//Pre-Release 4: In this release several textures have had small tweaks.
With pre-release v3 I have taken everything back to the mosaic style, but I have changed the mosaic pattern so that it tiles well (screenshots of these changes below.) These will most likely be the textures used in the final SineCraft v14 release. The new pattern applies to every texture that uses the mosaic pattern; this includes grass, dirt, sand, gravel, clay, stone, nether/end terrain, cloth and it's variants, and leaves, among others. The mining indicators have also been updated to match. I have left up the SineCraft v13.1 download below for those of you who prefer the old textures.
Please tell me what you think about the new mosaic. If there's enough interest the new textures will come standard in the final release of SineCraft v14, which will come after Christmas.

    v13 -- MAJOR UPDATE
Minecraft 1.0.0 Gold is finally here, and now there's a SineCraft pack to match it! SineCraft v13 features all of the new blocks and items added in Minecraft v1.9 / 1.0.0, as well as SineCraft redesigns for all of the new blocks. Some of the new items have been redesigned to match SineCraft, but not all of them are updated yet. I wanted to get this version up as quickly as possible. The GUI is 100% complete though, so don't worry about any blatantly obvious mismatches.

    v12.1 -- MINOR UPDATE -- 9.14.2011
With v12.1, I have added a SineCraft-style food bar. It's normally orange in color, and changes color appropriately when the player is under the influence of different status effects, such as poison. Since this update came so quickly after the v12 release, I will keep the release notes up below.

    v12 -- MAJOR UPDATE -- 9.14.2011
Minecraft Beta 1.8 is here, and a new SineCraft update has been created to match! In this update I have included textures and items for all of the new 1.8 additions. A few textures and items are still Minecraft 1.8 defaults because I don't have any good designs to replace them yet, but almost everything has been updated to match the SineCraft style. I have also included new GUI files to complement the new XP bar and bar locations (a SineCraft-style food bar is coming soon.) Textures are also included for the new chests :D

    v11.1 -- MINOR UPDATE -- 7.28.2011
v11.1 brings various small tweaks and fixes to things that have been bothering me for a while :D I have fixed a bunch of alignment issues in items.png, and I have tweaked the designs of some of the items (most notably Diamonds) to better match the pack or the inventory squares. In addition, I have fixed some alignment oversights in the Aether GUI files; the Enchanter and the Incubator GUI's should look correct when they are being used now.

    v11 -- MOD UPDATE -- 7.23.2011
In this release, I have added support for the Aether's new/modified GUI files. If you use both SineCraft and the Aether mod, you'll definitely want to grab this update. No other files have been modified -- if you DO NOT use the Aether mod you can skip this update. Please note that this update is only to keep the Aether mod visually consistent with SineCraft from a GUI standpoint; I have no intentions of creating textures or items to replace those in the Aether.

    v10.2 -- MINOR UPDATE -- 7.5.2011
I have re-designed the records and modified the minecarts in items.png. In addition, I have modified the boat skin color palette.

    v10.1 -- MINOR UPDATE -- 7.5.2011
In this release, I have included new textures for the minecart. I have also made various small tweaks to items.png. The only things left are paintings and mobs! I am planning on doing at least some of the mobs for the next release, unless Beta 1.8 hits and there are new blocks/items.

    v10 -- MAJOR UPDATE -- 7.4.2011
Happy 4th of July! This release includes re-designed items, as well as a new arrow design. I also re-designed the Redstone Repeater in terrain.png, it should be much easier for new players to understand. Almost all the items have been re-designed to match the pack. The current exceptions are the items used in making inks, records, and fish; for the time being those will continue to be Minecraft defaults. In addition, I have corrected alignment and scale on many of the items I had already designed for the pack.

I used the previous item set (which was still mostly vamediah's items) as an inspiration for a lot of the items in the new item set.

At this stage, SineCraft as a whole is nearly complete. I am gaining interest in doing the mobs, but I have no idea how to skin for Minecraft; if anyone has any tips for me, they would be greatly appreciated!

    v9.3 -- MINOR UPDATE -- 6.30.2011
This update fixes the cake textures as well as the oversight in the Shears item. Thanks to godlikekitten and PimpasaurusRex12 for pointing them out!

    v9.2 -- MINOR UPDATE -- 6.30.2011
This update fixes the bed textures. Like an idiot, I completely overlooked the fact that Mojang changed their location in terrain.png. Thanks to NorthenerSouth for pointing this out!

    v9.1 -- MINOR UPDATE -- 6.30.2011
This release brings a minor tweak to the Paper and Map items. I never did feel like they fit the theme of the pack, so I fixed that. I also added screenshots of v9 to the bottom of this post. In addition, bed textures seem to be broken currently; I assume it's a bug in the Beta 1.7 update.

    v9 -- MAJOR UPDATE -- 6.30.2011
This release adds compatibility for the Minecraft Beta 1.7 update. I have added Pistons and Shears, and I have tweaked various small things I didn't like about the pack, most notably the minecart rails. I have also redesigned the cookie item to better match the pack. This release features the mining indicator that matches the design on most of the blocks, and future releases will continue this trend.

    v8.2 -- MAJOR UPDATE -- 2.23.2011
With this update I tweaked a lot of the textures in the pack. Most changes were minor, but I did completely redesign the wooden plank and glass textures; those of you that felt the old glass was too hard to see through should like this release, and the new planks tile much better than before :RFlower:

    v8.1 -- MAJOR UPDATE -- 2.23.2011
When I was updating terrain.png for v8.1, I forgot the new texture that is to the right of the obsidian texture. I have added the texture and redesigned it to match the rest of the set. I also redesigned the new masked white texture from Beta v1.3 to match the set. It's similiar to the redstone texture, except it's white.

    v8 -- MAJOR UPDATE -- 2.22.2011
Well, it's been almost a month to the day since release v7, and Beta 1.3 is out now so it's update time once again! This update adds the new items introduced in Minecraft Beta 1.3, those items being the Bed and the Redstone Repeater/Delay blocks. These textures were re-created to match the rest of the pack. It also includes ... er ... whatever the two new masked white textures are in terrain.png. In addition, compatibility with the Wild Grass mod was kept in, and I also added the lily pad textures for that mod.

    v7 -- MAJOR UPDATE -- 1.23.2011
Heh. So, I lied when I said that v6.x would probably be the last major update for a while. I just couldn't stop finding things I wanted to change. In this release, I have made minor edits to the doors, glass, and torches. I just didn't feel that they were detailed enough before. I also made minor changes to the water texture to make it smoother, and I changed Clay Brick and Sandstone to match the Cobble Brick design. In addition, I re-designed Reeds Sugarcane, and I made some major edits to the Wheat and Wild Grass textures to make them look cleaner. And finally, I tweaked the Dispenser texture to make it more Dispenser-like. This probably will be the last major update for a while. The only things left to add are a new minecart texture, the art pack, and maybe mobs, but I have little interest in doing any of those. I also never got around to doing a proper 'from scratch' item set, but that's okay too.

    v6.2 -- MINOR UPDATE -- 1.23.2011
In this release I tweaked the sign texture a little to improve readability.

    v6.1 -- MINOR UPDATE -- 1.23.2011
I accidentally botched a folder name inside the zip file with release v6. As a result, boats and signs didn't work. This update fixes that.

    v6 -- MAJOR UPDATE -- 1.23.2011
Boats and Signs are included in this release. At this point the pack is pretty-much complete. I doubt there will be any updates for a while.

    v5.1 -- MINOR UPDATE -- 1.22.2011
In this minor update to v5, I changed the cobble again. The lines no longer contrast with smooth stone. I also replaced the old water with a new texture that should be less headache-inducing (but Lava remains unchanged since everyone seems to like it.) In addition, I fixed a minor symmetry oversight in inventory.png.

    v5 -- MAJOR UPDATE -- 1.22.2011
With this release, the pack now comes in two flavors -- one with a totally new mining progress indicator, and one with the bar-style indicator from v3. The new progress indicator follows the outlines of the mosaic blocks. It won't match every block, but it will match the pack as a whole. While I was working on the new indicator I tweaked the cobble block to have less contrast. I also tweaked all of the ore textures, they should be more distinctive now. In addition, I changed the plant/flower textures back to red/yellow styles since they are now used in dyes.

    v4.1 -- MINOR UPDATE -- 1.15.2011
After I released v4 I realized that Notch added a new block specifically meant for the top of the furnace. I placed the wrong texture in that spot for v4. The correct stone texture will now be displayed on the top of the furnace.

    v4 -- MINECRAFT BETA 1.2 COMPATIBLE! -- 1.14.2011
In this release I have updated the pack to be fully compatible with the new Minecraft update, Beta 1.2_01. I have included all of the new blocks, items, and a GUI file for the cage (is the cage even present in-game yet?) I changed all of the new block textures to match the mosaic design of the pack, including the cake. I also changed the cake item icon to match the new texture.

    v3.2 -- IMPORTANT UPDATE -- 1.10.2011
I accidentally left out the new progress indicator in v3.1, download this release to fix that.

    v3.1 -- 1.10.2011
This is a minor update from v3. I changed the leaf texture to better match the mosaic feel of the pack, but it looks kind of wonky so I'll probably change it again in the future. In addition, I replaced the default mining indicator (the cracking texture) with a modern progress indicator. I feel that it fits the pack better, and it makes mining easier in dark areas. I got the idea from copperdomebodha's Sanguine pack but this progress indicator is my own design.

I had no idea how great the colors were for the hardened clay. Great job, man! I love them. A lot.

Thanks! I've actually recolored the brown and orange hardened clay for the next update, they didn't look brown or orange enough to me before.

Hello all! Yes, I am still alive, and I have news!

After some consideration, I have decided that now would be a good time to continue SineCraft development since Minecraft development has slowed down a bit. I am going to start updating the pack immediately, and hopefully a new release will be ready in a couple of days. Maybe sooner.

    Keep watching this space!

Hello again, everyone! I am not dead! :D

Unfortunately I have decided to cease development of SineCraft so I can pursue other projects. If one of you guys wants to update the pack and release a new version you have my full permission to do so. Just give me some cred in the release thread :D

A new release is up, and SineCraft is finally compatible with Minecraft v1.2.5. Sorry for the huge delay, and thanks to everyone who has posted in this thread for your support! You guys and gals make it worth it. I probably wouldn't have continued to work on the pack without you.

So, I guess this is the definitive version. I wonder if Minecraft will ever be updated again? It's been a couple months so who knows. In any case, I will try to continue updating the pack.

NEW RELEASE! (Finally!) v1.2.0 is up!

    v1.2.0 - 6.4.2012

This update comes three months to the day from v1.1.1. Sorry it took so long, I've just been really busy with other stuff!

Anyways, this update makes SineCraft compatible with Minecraft v1.2.5. I have added the new wooden plank textures. That's about it for new stuff.

Hey, Sine. It's me again. Just wanted to explain my current thoughts on the pack and bump this thread some more. :tongue.gif:

As SineCraft has reached v1.0.0, I have already decided that all existing textures will be 'frozen,' i.e. they will no longer be changed. In my opinion the pack is mostly complete, and my current focus is keeping it consistent in new releases. This means that I do not plan to change any of the current textures, with some of the items being exceptions; notably the items that are still Minecraft default.

    Quote from xiondiscthree
A few textures I believe need to be redone, but I'm fine with the way they are now. I would just rather have them look slightly better. The first being the axe texture. It looks a bit too, how do I say this... Fisher-Price for me. The next is the diamond. It looks fine, but I think a better, more cut, looking diamond would fit nicer with this texture pack.

A problem is that tools are difficult to work with. The texture for them has to be slanted at an angle or it doesn't look correct in-game. The axes and diamond tools match the rest of the tool designs, which is why they are the way they are. I have no plans to change this.

    Quote from xiondiscthree
Then there are the water and lava textures. It might just be me, but I don't think they have animations and they need one. If you can't do an animation, then at least normalize the colors a bit on the water to make the lines less drastic.

The liquid textures are not animated, although I would like them to be; I just can't make it work well. The water texture doesn't bother me in-game, in fact I think it matches the rest of the pack quite well. As such, these textures will not be changed.

    Quote from xiondiscthree
This next one is just a little personal thing of mine. I really wish the cookies and beef's corners were rounded a bit. :tongue.gif:

The food items in the game are square because they match the overall theme of the pack, which is square and rectangular mosaics. These items look fine to me, and as such, will not be changed.

    Quote from xiondiscthree
Fifthly, the snow on the side of the grass block needs to cover all the grass. The grass that you see underneath isn't always the same tint as the biome specific grass around it.

I can understand your point here, I am also not very happy with the way non-biome terrain looks next to biome terrain. However, this is a Mojang code issue, not a texture pack issue. I COULD modify the snow/dirt texture so that it covers up all the grass, but I wanted to show that there's grass under there.

You should be using a Better Grass mod anyways, it kinda takes care of this issue.

    Quote from xiondiscthree
Lastly, the wool textures should have the same pattern as the grass and stone.

I kept the square border around the wool because, in my opinion, wool is a 'manufactured' item, whereas sand and stone are 'natural' items. I've tried to make 'manufactured' and 'natural' items discernible in the more recent SineCraft releases.

    Quote from xiondiscthree
I'm curious, what are you going to do with the redstone lamps?

I'm confused. Redstone lamps (I assume you mean redstone torches) already work fine, and do not need to be changed any further. If you are referring to an upcoming Minecraft feature, then I have no plan for it at this time; I'll take care of it once it comes out. I like to wait until the patch drops so I don't waste time working on items that may not make the final cut.

    Quote from xiondiscthree
Also, are you going to make this pack compatible with the seamless glass feature?

I always found the default glass style to be very ugly. I prefer glass that looks more like window panes, with borders to match. As such, glass will stay as it currently is.

    Quote from xiondiscthree
As always, thanks for the amazing texture pack and good day, sir. :smile.gif:

    -xiondisc

Thanks for your input! Although I am not planning to change anything right now, I will take them under consideration for future updates. I'm glad you're enjoying SineCraft :biggrin.gif:

    New release! v12.1 is up!

    v12.1 -- MINOR UPDATE -- 7.28.2011

With v12.1, I have added a SineCraft-style food bar. It's normally orange in color, and changes color appropriately when the player is under the influence of different status effects, such as poison.

EDIT: Here's a crop of the SineCraft v12.1 HUD. The health (red) and armor (blue) bars are on the left, the food bar (orange) is on the right, and the XP bar (green) is above the quickbar.
