as compared to rack servers which?

Are cheaper, use more power (for the same amount of server [in most cases]) and use slightly more rack space (in most cases).

To validate my claims of a one-of-a-kind server, here's a link to our Wiki. Now, to the point.

We're a small group of four core devs, and various other builders who float in and out, but the core four of us have pushed hundreds of man hours into this project already, and I predict we'll have hundreds or thousands more to follow. As you can see by the wiki, we're not your average PvP or adventure server. We hope to be something new, something the Minecraft community has yet to see. Something huge.

For that however, we need more than we have. As I've said before, we're a small group, with three of us in school. We simply don't have the resources to pour into all the things we need to really get this flying. For the past few weeks we've been building the plugins and world required on an old server one of us had lying around, but it doesn't really cut it at this point. 256MB of RAM, with custom plugins constantly being tested and large block updates being done, isn't enough, and we're getting constant crashes at this point. The impending issue of hosting is also an issue, since we hope to get into some sort of closed alpha in the coming weeks.

I know I'm going to ask for a lot here, but I'm looking for a server host who is willing to give us a boost, and provide us the resources we need, which at this point is a proper development server, and the basic hosting for our transition into pre-alpha. I can't honestly say we can provide much in return, at least at first. The main reason I come here asking is because this is honestly worth supporting. We intend an eventual profit, and with that, we will be more than happy to pay like any normal customer, but in the time being, there's not much we can provide other than advertising.

Again, I know we're asking a lot, but this will rise above the rest, and it's worth supporting. Even if you can't provide anything yourself, input is always appreciated.

I can be reached here, through email @ '[email protected]', or through Skype at 'dmiller02'. You can also reach the creative director here, at 'malice.red'.

    Thanks.

    Added you on skype.

We are interested in sponsoring you with a ~1GB server, and we can increase that as you grow.

    While I can't help you with sponsoring a server (don't support Bukkit), +1 for a well-written request!

This, except +1 for the KSP avatar :)

Pay Best For Less With Us!!!!!!

I see a slight issue with that slogan.

If I'm paying the best, why am I getting "less"?

    This post is a test....
    I need a server:
    2GB of ram
    Bukkit support
Preferably on a Dual Quad set up
    Cheap

    Come at me.

The post quote is a test...
    Also, please define "cheap".

Anyways, we have a 2GB plan (The End) for $22/mo.

You get your own dedicated VPS with a free dedicated IP and 50GB of disk space. Bukkit is supported and preinstalled, and you are able to upload whatever build you want, without waiting for us to enable it.

We currently run on E3-12xx or E5-26xx CPUs, so we don't have any Dual Quad core systems.

Servers are located in Dallas on GigE ports, and have software RAID10 on older nodes, and hardware RAID10 on newer nodes. Also, keep in mind that hosts running dual quads will probably be using more RAM in their nodes, so performance for the user will be more or less the same.

Well wireduphosting is planing to do that but i guess in general what are you hosting because we are going to prob get some blade servers and some rack servers it depends because we may be moving to VPS

Well, WiredUpHosting is planning to do that, but I guess in general it depends on what you are hosting. We are probably going to get some blade servers and rack servers as we may start offering VPS servers.

    :/

    Simple answer:
    Buy gold.

While you may not support/use BitCoins, there are plenty of people who do, and it is a perfectly legitimate way of accepting payment.

    Quote from HarlekinFilx

    Good afternoon,

I'm looking to host a server of approximately 20 people. It must be hosted in the U.S. and have a very high uptime.

    - Bukkit compatible, preferably.

    - I will be loading Tekkit onto the server.

    - Would prefer to have someone from the company load Tekkit for me, though I can do it myself.

    - Friendly and knowledgeable support.

I'd prefer if you have some sort of reputation behind you so that if I ask other people they can confirm that you are a valid and reputable host.

    Thanks,
    Dan

We have a variety of plans that will meet your needs, take a look at our "The End" or "Aether" plans, they should be just fine for you.
Our servers are located in Dallas, and you can view some of our customer's reviews on our MCF post here.

Tekkit can be installed for you for no extra charge by our staff.

Go for a provider in the West Coast of the US (We have boxes in Dallas, however it's not the optimal location), as the west coast is the closest you can get to singapore without paying outrageous prices for Asia/Pacific bandwidth.

If you need a custom site design, we can do one for you for ~$200.

Otherwise, wordpress isn't really a good choice for a host, you can find many great themes on places like themeforest.
