This new reporting feature isn't going to kill the minecraft game, it's just adding some accountability to it. I remember when minecraft first launched, it really wasn't a kids game during alpha or beta stage it was mostly an older teen and adult game until it got an educational game version and moved to consoles outside of a PC. Now it's a mixed range game of young kids, teens and adults playing it so yeah this report feature was bound to happen eventually.
From everything posted so far to use this reporting tool you have to navigate to the social menu and select the message in question to report it and the player in a specific category. Then a moderator team reviews it and decides what type of infraction to levy on the player for that message. If people are using profane/insulting language offensively to attack people then that's their own fault. I doubt that soft curse words will get you banned from minecraft but if people are using stronger profanity words or outright insulting people or being a bully or a bigot then they deserve to be held accountable for their actions.
I would personally prefer only to invite people that are over the age of 30 since I am in my 30s, but I know that can be difficult to manage so just be over 21 and be an adult. So far this is a small community of only a few players but looking forward to it growing bigger with more activity.
At spawn there is an in-progress village community area being built but no one is forced to participate in that build project if they'd rather wander farther out on their own.
GENERAL RULES - USE COMMON SENSE
1 - Don't be a douche
2 - Don't use derogatory words, remarks or statements that involve discrimination towards anyone
3 - Don't post anothers personal information without their permission
4 - No cheating/stealing/griefing
5 - If you didn't build it then don't touch it unless invited to or given permission to, check the claimed locations channel to help not make this mistake
6 - PvP must be consented upon by all parties involved
REALM RULES - USE COMMON SENSE
1 - No cheating/stealing/griefing
2 - Be careful with any type of farm that can overflow
3 - Spawn Proof any builds you do close to spawn please
4 - Please be careful of Creepers around spawn and try not to let any of them explode near the spawn building or community builds. The Keep Inventory After Death is turned on so if you die you don't loose your items so if you can't kill the creeper, then as a last resort please try and lead it away so that it detonates away from any buildings.
5 - Raiding Ocean Monuments - Mansions - Jungle Temples - Desert Temples - Mineshafts - Strongholds - Ancient Cities - Nether Fortress. Be mindful and if you don't level it to the ground for the structure materials then please leave the structure lit up with some type of light source (torches or lanterns) so that anyone venturing out after you can see that it's been chest/loot raided so that they don't waste their own time looking for items/loot.
6 - DO NOT SOLO THE END/END DRAGON. Don't be that douche that solos the end, group up with others and do the end as a team effort or I will reset the world and then we all loose our builds and have to start over.
6a - If no one wants to group up to kill the dragon but wants items from The End and access to the End City let me know and I'll change to creative mode and kill the dragon so that the portal to The End City appears and no one has to deal with the Dragon.
