Just going to be a ball-buster and point out that with limited memory, there can be no infinite bounds.

posted a message on Preferred Biome Poll 1.7.2 New
I tend to build anywhere that looks good, but as far as the new biomes go, I like the flower forest and the sunflower plains.

    (What? I like flowers, okay?)

The mesas are beautiful, mind you, but I wouldn't want to live there. Not a fan for places that lack green unless they have snow.

posted a message on I need to whine about the stupid Ender Dragon
Sorry to hear that. I haven't gone after the ender dragon legitimately yet, but I've fallen into the void before with awesome stuff on (some joker on a survival server I was on broke holes through the bedrock)

posted a message on What bothers you the most?
The fact that I get people on my server who grief not because they're cruel or malicious, but because they think that's how survival servers work. I've had several people who started out stealing from others, and when I told them that was against the rules (I did it in a way where they didn't know I was watching), they turned around, put the stuff back, and carried on as a "normal" player.

I suppose that basically what bothers me is the idea that a lot of survival servers either are or are perceived as PvP/griefing servers. I just don't see Minecraft that way.

posted a message on Anybody got good challenges NOT achievement wise?
I like the religious challenge suggested above, and the best part is: it's not mutually exclusive with my suggestion!

I'm currently doing the City Construction Challenge*. I'm really enjoying it, and have been recommending it to everyone.

EDIT: (Oh, and as Atheism - as I assume the term is being used here - is marked by the absence of religion, then trying to do an "Atheist Religious Run" would be like trying to do a "No Stone" challenge where you can use stone freely)

Rei's minimap. Darned handy for keeping track of where all my players are building at.

I don't always wander into a suggestion forum to voice my lack of support, but when I do, everything I could say has already been said.

    Stay crafty my friends.

posted a message on What is your preferance for a survival world home?
I don't merely define home as a place where I'm living for the night, but as a place I would enjoy continuing to live in. That said, my first shelters - holes dug into the sides of hills - are merely places where I hide while waiting for night to pass.

My first homes typically take the shape of log cabins in various designs, simply because wood is often the most abundant material I have available. After that, my next home can be darn near anything. I've built flying islands, underground temples, castles, airships, wizard towers, floating ocean platforms, and probably some other stuff I don't recall.

I think at that point, you're going to want to program a whole mod. The redstone circuit required for that level of calculation would likely be so complex that the delay (assuming you could get it to work) would prevent any strategy from being implemented faster than the player could act.

posted a message on What are some ways to remove fear of caves?
    Quote from Toms007

That was a nice grave digging, fellas. The topic is 18 months old.

What did you expect from a dinosaur?

Anyways, since I've come this far, I might as well get my thoughts out, necro thread or not. Who knows? Maybe another cave-aphobe will come along. I'll note that most of the solutions presented don't really allieviate the fear; They simply remove the cause for it. Or, if they don't do that that, they tell the OP the best way to allieviate their fear is to stop being afraid. This is why you don't come to gaming forums for therapy.

The only thing that removes fear (asside from certain types of brain injury) is experience. I recommend heading into caves regularlly. Be your own judge of how far to go in, and how long to stay. Of course, bring torches, armor, and weapons as suggested, and your odds of survival should improve.

But even if they don't, over time you should just get used to it. You may still hate caving (as I do), but you won't be afraid anymore. Heck, you might even grow to enjoy the adventure.

posted a message on 1.7.2 Zombies and Doors
On my Hardmode SMP, The zombies don't appear to be breaking the doors down. We generally react to them pretty quickly, but the usual cracks aren't appearing. I would have tested it out, but I didn't really think about this until just now, and I'm not at home.

Has anyone else noticed this? Are they failing to break the doors down, or is their a texture glitch not showing the cracks? Or, perhaps, is something else at play here?

(I'm certain the server is on hard mode. Aside from double checking the configuration, other hard mode effects are in play)
