Jul 10, 2011Si1entSniper posted a message on what does your avatar think about the avatar above you?Posted in: Forum GamesQuote from jumjummju
My MS Paint Avatar thinks your avatar is too generic. Anime is so overdone.
My avatar thinks your avatar's opinion is flawed.
Anime may be overdone, but good anime is phenomenal.

Thats not really a standpoint on evolution. that answers my second question which is would it conflict with the bible, and appears to be no for you. it doesnt address whether or not you think it happened.
Opinions don't matter. I've studied too much to believe in opinions. I'll believe in variables, etc.
Mar 26, 2011Posted in: Politics, Philosophy, News and ScienceQuote from shairn »Quote from Si1entSniper »Does this all count as religion?
Hm, we did get side-tracked quite a bit.
Well, debates tend to do that :3
To go back to religion, however, I believe that if there were a "god", it doesn't exist anymore or doesn't act upon its creation. If I'm to refer to the bible, you can clearly see that "He" was quite present at the time, but isn't nowadays. Are there too many people? Or is "He" simply gone? :ohmy.gif:
That is a large debate. I hope we are all aware of the Trinity. In the Old Testament, there was God, he led the Israelites and we are well aware of what he did. Then, after some time, the New Testament came, with Jesus's birth (God's son and perfect sacrifice), Jesus then preached about God, and came for our sins. He was brutally beaten and killed for our transgressions, but if you catch what the New Testament says when Jesus comes back to talk to his Disciples one last time, he mentions the Holy Spirit. At first, God was mainly for the Israelites, then Jesus was to transform Jewish religion into Christianity, as they need Jesus to become cleansed, but Jesus/God sent the Holy Spirit for all. He is pretty much Jesus/God's messenger, who some call our conscious, It tells us right from wrong, what is wise, what is foolish, etc., and is meant for all. God didn't go away, it's just he's using the Holy Spirit to reach out to everyone.

OT: I believe everything in the Bible, plus a large majority of science. I used to be Catholic, but the things they do is something I just cannot accept. Praying to saints and Holy Mary, going to church to forgive sins, the Pope, and much more are things I can't accept in Catholicism. If I'm going to pray to someone, I'll just pray to God. :/
That's the thinking that led to Protestants, which is what I am, I am just more interested in Religious Philosophy.

Religious people are silly.
They believe in a person who has the same level of existence as Santa and the Easter bunny.
Don't you think your so cool insulting other peoples beliefs.
You do know people who do that are just arrogant douches right?
Why can't you let people believe what they want?
Not a religious person by the way.

Are you suggesting that the U.S isn't poor and needy? :wink.gif:
He's suggesting that Republicans don't care about the poor and needy.
Anyway, probably not for a few reasons:
1. Jesus taught the "poor and needy" part. HE'S A SOCIALIST!
2. Jesus was Middle-Eastern. HE'S A TERRORIST!
3. Jesus taught people to "hate the sin, not the sinner". HE'S LIGHT ON CRIME!
4. Jesus healed the poor sick folk. HE SUPPORTS SOCIALIST HEALTH CARE!
5. Jesus preached peace, and was killed by soldiers. HE'S ANTI-MILITARY!
6. Jesus taught people to pay their taxes. HE'S AN OVER-SPENDING LIBERAL!
Jul 10, 2011There are many ways to get a scholarship meaning free college. If you work hard and get good grades you can apply to get one. It's all based on how hard you want to work. The USA has many programs to support those with little money and while I don't agree with all of them it's enough. There is no need to remove classes altogether.Posted in: General Off Topic
If you wanted a family restaurant, your family would pool together some money and buy a small building to start the restaurant. How do you think most of the rich started out? You start small and slowly get bigger. All chain stores started with just one store. Hell, Steve Jobs got started by messing with computers as a kid/young teen in his garage then building some and selling them with his friends. If you think it's unfair that people with money can do things like start a businees that's stupid. Save money up and invest it in the stock market. There are tons of ways to get money and it always involves money. Think of the lottery. They don't just hand anyone who asks a ticket. You spend money in hope of more money. It's risk/reward and it can sometimes be VERY rewarding. If you get a job it's not always going to be within walking distance. What do you do? You buy a bike or a car so that you'll be able to get to it. You just spent money so that you can make money. This can apply to most things.
May 29, 2011To comment on the OP I'd say most people are born with talents. Up until college/university you're finding your niche, and along the way you find certain talents.Posted in: General Off Topic
For instance, I love sciences, mostly medical sciences, thus I am studying to become a nurse. Now I noticed that I'm quite talented at chemistry, math, and things of that sort, I am untalented at history related courses. Sometimes your talents can help further your education, sometimes they have nothing to do with them, but in the end a talent can't be learned to an extent. I can't study to the point of being talented at history, because it's something I just don't get, I can do good in classes that deal with history, but it doesn't mean I've gained a talent in that area.
Also entertainment greatly influences how well you do. I also find history boring, meaning I generally do worse even if I was talented. While I love functions & equations, this ends up making me better at math.
That's at least how I see it.

Please stay civil and don't turn perfectly good threads into flamewars, even though it seems that's a lot to ask of most of you. Nothing good ever came out of mudslinging, but plenty of good can come out of a calm discussion. A debate can get heated, but when you start insulting others that's taking it too far. With that, I'm closing this thread and here's to hoping that in the future you people can behave yourselves :3

Honestly, this Thread should be locked because were not getting anywhere at all.
Yes, I sense some trolling here.
All thread like these are doomed to become flame-wars for the simple reason that you cannot punch annoying people over the internet.

You're obviously incapable of understanding simple statements, so I'm done with you.
May 22, 2011What if the Rapture happened today, then God didn't take up the conspirators that believed it would happen yesterday because they were false prophets, or the people who joked around about the Rapture not happening because they weren't nice to people. About 20 people would go up, and I would laugh.Posted in: General Off Topic
