posted a message on [REQUEST]Mod Compatibility
Hai~! Can i make a request to make Tinker's Construct Swords compatible with Dynamic Sword Skills?

Or can someone tell me if it's possible to make them compatible? The problem is that Tinker's Construct Swords don't have the extension ISword on them i think and Dynamic Sword Skills only recognizes items as Swords with that extension to be able to use the skills. So i was wondering if anyone can make a patch for it to change the Swords for Tinker's Construct to something Dynamic Sword Skills can recognize? Thanks

Hmm reading the rules again and again... I guess it's safe to say that i can't include this mod in a public (free) modpack? Or can i get permission to do so? xD

Exhaustion = hunger, just like running, jumping, and fighting - those all add exhaustion, which eventually takes down your hunger bar, so no, no new HUD :P
As for being exploitable, that's why I added the window option; if you install Smart Moving and don't disable windows, that's your choice. Adding slabs won't necessarily fix the problem - there's nothing stopping someone from adding a mod with an item that destroys any block without checking, or teleports the player through walls, or some other kind of exploit. A player that wants to cheat / exploit the game will always find a way, and it's up to each player to decide for themselves how they want to play.

It's not exactly a beginner's guide... once you learn a skill, it will have a detailed entry in the skill gui, but nothing else about the mod is explained in there at this time. Still, I think it will be a valuable addition to the mod, since many people seem confused about how the skills actually work.

Aww well too bad then xD I'm always kinda excited for HUDs for some reason lol
Well true. There are a whole lot of mods that could be used to cheat (like a certain mod which allows you to pass through walls) so it's pretty much just a waste of time to fix.

Oh yeah i forgot to point out earlier about the adjustable skill orb drop rate on specific mobs in the config. I have no idea what that is for. I've set it to 100 but it doesn't seem to change anything. Although the other configs about Skill Orb drop rate doesn't change anything either. I was thinking the specific mobs meant either the mobs in the mod or the bosses in the boss castles. But i didn't get any from them. Is 100 meant to be 100% chance?

A couple pages back, I posted this:

Seems to be what you were asking for, right? :P

Oh i am so waiting for that. Btw are you planning to add a new HUD for the exhaustion? While i don't really get that mechanic at all, from what i understand, it's how much you are able to use skills until you can't anymore and be exhausted. It's just a speculation though, and that never occurred to us before so just wondering.

Also with Smart Moving installed, you can crawl into one of the boss castle's windows to skip the "kill all the bosses" phase of the castle and get the chests/flames/master sword xD
While i know there is an option to disable the windows AND requires to have something like Smart Moving installed, it is still a bit exploitable don't you think? Maybe putting some slabs or unbreakable glass on the windows would do it but it's just a minor thing to point out :P

Ok after experimenting with all the mods i have, i found out the cause of Naryu's Love hunger issue.

Ofcourse, it had to be Smart Moving. If the mod is set to Easy mode, the hunger will almost never go down no matter what you do. I had it to always set on easy that's why my hunger doesn't go down when i use it. Setting the mode of Smart Moving to Medium or hard fixes the issue. Took me too long to find this out xD

@Shunraiki: Nayru's Love worked perfectly fine for me in Hardcore Mode (without changing anything), taking down my hunger bar all the way to zero in about one minute. Are you using any other mods that might affect the vanilla hunger mechanic?

I see.. Hmm not sure.. I have about 50 mods installed but there aren't any of them that are directed towards the hunger mechanic... There might be some that affect it indirectly i'll have to check.

Thanks for the clarifications. I'll give it a test. As for canceling it, that wasn't an option in the original game, you're just stuck with it until it runs out :P Otherwise, you could activate it just for a short time to take advantage of the invulnerability, then switch it off when convenient, which would make it even more powerful than it already is.
Ohh true. xD Though using it till your hunger runs out is powerful enough.. Hmm maybe have it only used once per game day? That might be a more complicated thing to do but it would make it less powerful to be broken. I'm still kinda leaning towards it being a 5 minute buff item though xP

Hmm nevermind, maybe i want this mod to be as close to the original game as possible xD But i do want it to be balanced so... Just recommending the once per game day i guess~

Your hunger isn't going down? Are you on Peaceful or something? I'll admit, I haven't tested Nayru's Love since I first introduced it (at which point it was working), but I haven't changed anything relating to it, either. I'll take a look at it.

I was pretty sure I had already disabled sword skills while it is in effect... guess I slipped up and missed that :P Thanks for pointing that out.

Leaping Blow and Dash... both require right-click; are you using the mouse, or the keyboard RCtrl button? And which version of Minecraft are you using, 1.7.2? I'll look into it.

No i'm actually on Hardcore when i used Naryu's Love.

I'm using the 1.6.4 version. The problem is that when i'm using Battlegear 2, Leaping Blow and Dash doesn't work but when i have the sword at the action bar it works just fine. I use the mouse.

I hope you would also put a way to cancel Naryu's Love manually than to let you hunger bar run out xD

Quite a huge update there... Keep up the good work ^-^
btw i found a quite overpowered mechanic xD

Nayru's Love is pretty broken right now. It grants invulnerability until you run out of hunger but for me my hunger NEVER goes down. I have actually gotten through multiple temples without ever worrying about hunger. o_o
The trade-off for the item seems unfair as well since people would more or less use swords 90% of the time.

A suggestion would be to just make Naryu's Love a 5 minute item instead. And maybe disable the use of Sword Skills as well? Invulnerability is a very powerful thing in the game. :(

Also in the new patch it seems you can't use Dash and Leaping Blow while using Mine and Blade Battlegear. Is it a bug or intended? :o

I have no idea. I already mentioned I looked through it but didn't see anything useful. What in their library should I be looking for? I certainly hope he's not suggesting I iterate through their item registry to check for specific items... but I really don't see anything else in there that could possibly be useful in this scenario.

I've got some modifications to the API already in the works that will allow for any item to declare itself as a sword, among other things, and all it takes is an extra "implements ISword" in an Item class - no methods need to be implemented at all. In other words, it should be extremely easy to use.

That's a problem with TC mod - they've flagged their blue slimes as bosses -.-

Heart pieces from my mod drop VERY RARELY, so the fact that you saw them twice is pretty good. The best place to look for heart pieces is in secret room chests, or better yet, find yourself an entire heart container in a boss dungeon.

I'll have to ask them about the Library thing :/
Is the API something easy for me to do myself? I kinda doubt it though i have yet to start modding
Maybe sending them the API would be good and hope it goes well.

I didn't see anything in the TC Library that would allow what they seem to be suggesting, though maybe I just missed it.

I did notice, however, that they no longer have support BG2 due to "constantly changing API"... all changes to BG2's API that I've seen have been major improvements, in my opinion, and are well worth the little time it takes to update to.

Anyway, it doesn't sound like you or I'd have any guarantee that TC would use or continue to use a sword/skill API if I developed one (actually I've already got one, but it doesn't have this feature yet).

I see.. so the only sure way would be to use the TC Library then? How hard would it be to make a sword/skill API for them? I'm not really forcing a compatibility here, if it can be done, awesome. If not then i wouldn't want to keep pushing you guys.

I hope you can make it though. TC swords with Zelda Skills would be epic.

The mod author of Tinker's Construct said that this mod could use the TConstruct Library to make sword skills available for TC weapons. Or alternatively, provide an API for the mod author of TC to use.

    Is either of these possible?

Add more Lapis/quartz. These modifications have tiers that activate once a certain amount of material has been added. The number shows how much was added/how much is needed for full effect.

How do I do that specifically? I tried adding more lapis but it only takes 1 per modification. I can only put 3 modifications so if I put all lapis I can only get about 18/75. Unless I can increase the amount of modifications I can put infinitely how can I get a 75/75 modification?

That's been on my to-do list for a while xD Good suggestion about disabling lock-on of players - I should be able to add that in the next update.

Awesome thanks! You don't know how many times my brother and i nearly killed each other in Hardcore mode cause of accidentally locking on to each other xD
