It has an interesting concept, but I'm questioning the logic behind this Universe. If the government of this new planet is aware of children with powers, wouldn't it be more wise to kill them on sight rather than wait for them to "Turn" and suffer for years?

I do like the idea that the children of this new planet are all 'infected', in a way that they are a valuable necessity for the continued survival of humanity, but there is something wrong with them. I like that aspect of this RP, I think you should give it a little more thought and consider it with a bigger concept in mind, so that there is actual material to work with when Roleplaying, such as the children coming to terms with their powers, understanding their significance to continue humanity's existence, and work together to find a solution before they would 'Turn', it can create some amazing conflict.

Thanks for the feedback, now that I think about it that is a huge flaw and plot hole. I'm thinking of rewriting it so that the events of the rp take place before/after the first new child turned. That way people would be able to have freedom to work with their powers while still feeling the weight of the government trying to control them.

Hi everyone, ShotgunPenguin here and I'm here to see if anyone would be interested in joining a rp that i thought up.

The basic plot is this, humanity has destroyed the earth and must search for a new place to call home. They cryogenically freeze themselves and travel through a wormhole where a starnge object attaches itself to their ship. They find a new planet and find out that the object changed their Genomes so now children may be born with special powers. However something is causing these children to go insane at the age of 18 so the government rounds up all of the children and puts them in a special prison where they live until they are executed at 17. You will take the part of a prisoner (Aged 9-16) and attempt to escape the prison and fight back against the government who imprisoned you.

That's just the basic gist of it, I'll probably write something more substantial if this gets enough interest. So just leave a post down below if you're interested in joining.

"Geeze haven't heard that line a thousand times before" Jaune thought as he rolled his eyes at Tacitus's obvious attempt at flirting with the elf. Gaurda didn't seem to notice however as she responded to his question, quoting the meet pies as the reason why she was here. Jaune wouldn't know anything about the pies though as he had never bothered to order anything from this tavern in particular. The way he lived you need to buy food that would last since you never knew when you would scrape enough gold together to eat again so his diet included bread and water. Before Jaune could speak up a sudden rumbling shook the bar as tacitustook cover under the bar counter.

Before he could join him under the counter the rumbling stopped as Tacitus got out from under the bar. He then excused himself from the bar and said his goodbyes to Gaurda before exiting the bar. "What, no goodbye Jaune? I may be a thief but that was just rude." Jaune shook his head as he got up from his seat and made his way to the door. "Well it was nice meeting you Gaurda, and barkeep are those going to be delivered by tonight." He asked referring to the stack of applications that was under the counter. The keeper gave a quick nod before returning his attention to his customer. It would probably be some time before his letter was reviewed for acceptance so Jaune decided to just return home and wait till the morning. Then he would check to see if he was accepted, probably steal some bread to fill his stomach and just laze around the rest of the day.

Waiting for Tacitus to answer his question Jaune suddenly found himself looking when a rather good looking elf took a seat at the bar counter. If Jaune had the time maybe he'd try his luck with her later, but for now he had company. Answering the elf's question Tacitus explained what had happened just a few minutes prior. About the drunks outside, the lizardman and the cloaked man that healed him.

Jaune couldn't help but sigh as Tacitus explained why he was against him stealing the drunks stuff. A lot of people looked down on thieves just because they had to steal to make a living but he thought differently. People become thieves out of necessity, not greed like many would think. When your clothes were ragged, your wounds festering and your stomach empty you do what you have to to survive. Those who have money always like to believe that they were generous and charitable, but those same people who boast about their charity would look upon the forsaken like they were lesser than dirt. No one had cared about the young boy when he was cold and hungry on the streets so he was forced to find a way to survive on his own.

"Just because you are drunk is no defense. Even if they were drunk they knew what they were doing, the man wasn't even fighting back yet they just continued to beat on him. People like that need to be taught a lesson and a simple beating isn't going to be enough, no they need to be taken down a peg." Jaune scowled as he heard the elf, who introduced herself as Garuda, say that she agreed that stealing from them would have gone to far. "Whatever, everyone has their own moral compass they follow, guess mine is a bit too skewed for you two." He paused for a moment before adding "Name's Jaune by the way."

"Yeah to be perfectly honest I'm usually not that strong. Pretty sure it was that cloaked dude that gave me that boost." Jaune said while rubbing the back of his head. "Normally I'd just try to crack em over the head with Ol' blackjack here," Patting the cudgel at his side he continued "but since they were just drunks I was worried that I'd swing to hard and kill them. So I just decided to rush him and hope for the best." It wasn't like he was against killing if he needed to, but killing any of those drunks would have landed him in hot water with the guard. Now that was something that he would need to avoid if he wanted to acquire a few coins before he headed back to his shack.

"As for my name, it's Jaune Nikos, but my friends call me Jaune." He said as he turned in his seat so his back was against the counter. "As for my guild, well there's only one real answer to that. Thieving is pretty much all I've ever been good at. Well that and charming the ladies." Winking at a passing woman Jaune turned to face Tacitius before continuing. "So the thieves guild would be the most obvious choice for me. If all else fails I can try to get into the mercenaries guild but personally they're a bit too combative for my tastes." Jaune paused for a moment before asking "By the way what was the deal with you telling me to stay out of those drunks stuff? They deserved to be kicked while they were down after what they did."

"Fine I'll pay, looks like I'll have to settle for drinking you over the table instead of drinking you under it." Jaune chuckled at his own joke as he lead the way to the nearby tavern. The soft glow of the torches casting a warm glow on the outside of the tavern. Opening the door he was struck with the familiar scent of alcohol as he felt a large grin settle on his face. He was no stranger to the tavern scene as it was an easy place to pick up a few gold from unsuspecting drunks. Depending on how the night went he might have to rely on this trick again to pay for his drink.

Taking a seat at the tavern counter Jaune calls out to the man behind the bar "Bartender, I'll have your biggest, strongest, cheapest drink. And a water for my companion here." Jaune could swear he heard the man mutter the word cheapskate as he reached under the counter and produced two glasses which he roughly placed on the table. He then produced two jugs from one of the shelves above the counter and poured their contents into the glasses. One of the cups was filled with water while the other was filled with some unidentifiable liquid which quite honestly smelled a little better than a pile of manure.

"7 gold" The man seemingly barked as Jaune reached into his pouch and dropped the gold onto the counter in a messy pile. The man swept the gold from the counter and placed it in a pouch at his side before leaving to attend to another patron. "Well here's to beating up drunks and saving a guys life." Jaune said as he lifted his glass before taking a sip of his drink before immediately coughing while holding his throat with his free hand. "Oh man that, that is awful." Looking at the offending drink Jaune took another sip before repeating his previous gesture. "Yeah not better the second time round." He said as he placed the glass back on the counter.

"Hey barkeep, you wouldn't so happen to have a quill and some paper back there would you?" The man looked towards Jaune before grumbling something under his breath as he placed a quill, an inkwell and a paper in front of him. Placing his last coin on the counter he took the quill and begun to fill out his application as honestly as you could expect a person of his profession to. After finishing the application the bartender took the paper and stuffed it under the counter. It was obvious that the man was used to this as Jaune was able to spot the edges of what looked like similar applications under the counter. "So do you have any idea on which guild you will be applying for? Judging by the sword I'd say either a mercenary or a watchman for you."

"Hey man it's not stealing if he has nothing to be stolen." Jaune said while shrugging off the other humans remark. Personally he couldn't understand why he was looking down on him, people take spoils of war all the time yet no one calls them thieves. Deciding to check on the victim of the drunkards beatings he grimaced as he saw that the man was a Lizardfolk. They were frequently a target of racism just because of their appearance and the thought of that made Jaune mad. It wasn't their fault that they were born that way so why should they be treated any differently by others? "Scum" He thought as he looked towards the unconscious trio.

After that the apparent mage had called him and the other man over to where the lizardman was on the ground. The mage then explained that the victim would awaken in about 2 hours and that he would leave him some gold and a note for when he woke up. He then explained that he would then leave to train until he gets a response for his guild application. "That reminds me, I still need to fill one of those out." Jaune thought as the mage burned something into some nearby cloth for the lizardman. After that he left, leaving Jaune, the swordsman, the 3 drunks and the victim. "Well I don't know about you but I'm feeling thirsty." Jaune said to the swordsman "So how about you and I go and grab a drink at the tavern? I'm sure that whatever the mage did the lizard guy should be fine."

Jaune's mind suddenly felt like it was kicked into overdrive as his muscles twitched and the world seemed to slow around him. "Woah it feels like I've been blessed with the energy of a god!" He thought to himself as one of the drunks charged towards him, but with his new heightened reflexes it seemed like he was merely walking. Deciding to meet the man head on Jaune leapt at the drunken man, to both of their surprise his leap sent him colliding right into the man. The end result was both of them lying in a heap as they both groaned in dismay. "Okay, that was a bad idea." He said as he got up from the ground.

It would be hard getting used to his new energy all of the sudden so he would have to be careful not to seriously injure the drunk. "Sorry about that mate, let me help you up." He said while grabbing a hold of the mans hand before hauling him up onto his feet. A loud popping sound was heard as the man screamed out in pain as his shoulder was wrenched out of his socket. "Ohh sorry about that, but it shouldn't be that hard to fix right?" He said while patting the man on the back, which only served to drive him back onto the ground with a loud thud. "Well they do say that sleep is good for the body, but I think you're taking it to seriously." He said to the now unconscious man.

Kneeling down rummuging through the mans pockets Jaune sighed as his hands came up empty. "Oh come on buddy did you drink yourself dry?" He asked while looking towards the others in the alley. "Oh don't mind me, just checking if this dude has anything worth taking." He said as if he was simply buying produce.

The morning sun shined brightly as Jaune raised his hand in an attempt to block the offending light from his eyes. The decrepit shack that he called home was little more than some hay and a worn blanket with a broken table propped up in the corner so he could eat whatever he was lucky enough to get his hands on. Life has never been easy living like he did, but it wasn't like he had any other skills to fall back upon. Stealing wasn't exactly a honest profession and he had to be careful not to steal too much or else he would attract the attention of the guards.

"Looks like it's time to make another food run." He sighed to himself as he grabbed his cudgel, lovingly named blackjack, and headed into town. The walk was peaceful and short as Jaune entered the town, his eyes scanning his surroundings as he slowly walked the streets. Something was wrong, there weren't as many people as there should have been, almost as if they all went somewhere without telling him. "Oh well, hopefully that just means I won't have to worry about the guards." He said to himself as he broke into a light jog towards the center of the town.

He had just about reached the center of the town when he encountered the mass crowd which seemed to be dispersing. Walking up alongside one of the citizens who were walking Jaune asks "Excuse me, but where did everyone just come from? I seemed to have missed the message?" The woman paused for a second before answering "We just attended an announcement by headmaster Korlund. Every citizen must now join a guild if not already in one." Huh, joining a guild? Sure the thought of joining a guild had crossed Jaunes mind more than a few times, but he always decided against it since he liked to be free. "But now it's mandatory to join a guild I'll have to act fast. maybe I can get into a guild and just sit around all day and do nothing" He thought as he smiled and thanked the woman. As she left he took a moment to open the leather pouch that he had swiped off the woman while she was talking. "6 gold pieces, nice." Deciding to get something to eat and find a place to fill out his application he heads towards the nearest tavern.

Hearing a commotion from around the tavern Jaune walked towards a nearby ally and watched what appeared to be a drunken brawl take place. 3 drunken men were facing off against a possibly slightly less drunken man. Another man was just watching while yet another was beaten and on the floor. Now Jaune was no saint, but even he couldn't just stand there and watch while the men fought. Bringing forth blackjack he twirled it to loosen his wrist as he stepped up besides the man who drew his blade. "Hey there, name's Jaune, and I'll be the one kicking your ass today." He cheered towards the 3 drunken men.

    Name: Jaune Nikos

    Gender: Male

    Age: 24

    Species: Human

Appearance: Jaune is a man with blond hair that has two small strands sticking out from the top and blue eyes. He comes out around 5"6 and weighs around 128 pounds. He has a slim but athletic build and a few scars around his right arm. His facial hair consists of a soul patch and a small stubble along his jawline. His clothing consists of a plain tan shirt under a brown leather vest and a pair of brown cargo pants and black shoes. He also wears a red bandanna around his left arm and a brown finger less glove on his right hand. His armor consists of a metal spaulder and a leather vambrace on his right arm as well as a set of leather greaves.

Personality: Jaune is very happy and friendly person who tries to be friendly with everyone. His sense of humor mainly revolves around puns which sort of undermines his attempts at making friends. He is also very talkative when it comes to certain subjects, like animals, weapons and burgulary. Despite his profession as a self proclaimed master thief Jaune is rather neutral when it comes to his work, caring not who he steals from or who's paying him. He also deflects all attempts to pry into his past with humor as he himself is quite unsure about a good chunk of his past. Also unbeknownst to even Jaune himself is his second personality tucked away under his memories. This persona is cruel and efficient and has little regard for human life other than himself.

Biography: Jaune was born to a mother with a less than respectable profession. That's what he was told anyways since he was apparently dropped off on the steps of an orphanage when he was still a baby. It wasn't one of those good orphanages where kids were cared for, it was one where you either shut up or you get beaten. Growing up in an orphanage Jaune never really had anything to his name and for a time he was fine with that. He was 14 when he finally decided that it wasn't fine anymore. One day he was playing outside on the streets when he saw an older boy swinging around a silver chain with a gold trinket. For some reason Jaune knew that he wanted it and when the kid wasn't looking he pushed him down and ran off with the necklace. Of course others would be suspicious of how he obtained that necklace so he was forced to distract them with humor. Acting friendly and making jokes seemed to come natural to the young boy and it soon became his default personality.

However after stealing the necklace Jaune found that he quite enjoyed "redistributing" others possessions for himself. Things were simple until he attempted to steal from one of the caretakers and was caught. He was beaten so hard that he blacked out halfway through and when he woke up there was a lot of blood on the floor. Sure some of it was his but most of it came from the bloody face of the now unconscious caretaker. Fearing the repercussions of his actions Jaune fled the orphanage and lived his life as a street rat. His memory kind of blurred during this time and some nights he would wake up covered in blood next to another body.

This needed to stop, he couldn't keep living night to night wondering if he was going to wake up in a dark cell for something that he couldn't remember. Visiting a local mage he payed him with whatever gold he could get his hands on to fix him. The mage instructed Jaune to simply let him into his mind and he would do what he could. When he woke up the mage said that he was done and that Jaune would no longer have to fear this seemingly psychopathic person he was becoming.

Now with a fresh conscious Jaune returned to what he was best at, stealing and robbing people blind for years to come. Well that was until the new law came into place, so now he was probably going to have to join a guild. Oh well, at the very least there was a guild that was all about what he was good at, so that was nice.

    Inventory:

    - A black steel cudgel with a set of pointed metal bars right below the handle.

    - A leather pouch to hold his gold (the pouch currently contains a measly 2 gold)

    - A silver necklace with a gold dagger trinket

    - A dragon ball that he stole from some kid with a monkey tail and a staff (Which he actually lost but he's too ashamed to admit it)

Other: He obviously intends to join the thieves guild.
