Minecraft, a game based on fantasy instead of realism? I never would of guessed! I mean, Skeletons, massive spiders, zombies and exploding green creature sure seemed realistic to me. Not to mention the fact you could destroy trees with your bare hands and carry thousands of pounds of stuff on your back.
I have played this game since it was nothing more than a browser game where all you could do was creative mode.
All I have to say is the changes he has put into the game are great, giving it more meaning and more playability.
Before these past somewhat recent updates the game was full of endless repetition each time you play.
Quickly build a house, get leather armor, get ores, get better armor, get diamond and you're done. From that point onwards everything is pointless because you already have everything you can get in the game. Now, there's reasons to explore. Find mineshafts, strongholds, create portals to other worlds. In terms of gameplay and replayability, there is more to Minecraft now than there ever has been. -

So, for some reason you feel you are entitled to pick and choose the the features of the game? You didn't make this game, ya know. If you don't like some features, it's very easy to just downgrade your minecraft.jar to a previous release. It seems a little silly to expect that your opinion should outweigh the developers' opinions. If you don't like something, either go back to before it was implemented, or get over it. Srsly. -

Naucitos posted a message on No worries! Notch will likely still work on the dragon code!Theres a difference between a finished product and something being finished forever.Posted in: 1.0 Update Discussion
Being a complete product and marketed as such doesen't mean it can't be improved or updated later, but advertising something as complete when it clearly isn't is a bad idea -

That being said, 1.9 is awesome. I love it.
And even if you're not that into mooshroom biomes or whatnot, there's at least one thing that you should be psyched about:
the Silk Touch enchant. -

flazooni posted a message on The new Moon Phases make no sense :pPosted in: 1.0 Update DiscussionQuote from Pyrkie
So Notch added phases to the moon in respose to a twitter post answering:
"Uhm. I'll fix that."
But in reality the moon and sun are polar opposites in the sky, and never change from this... so really... the moon should be phaseless (techinically you could argue that the moon should be in constant eclipse from the minecraft world). :tongue.gif:
In conclusion.. I hate knowing stuff so that I can pick holes in an otherwise cool feature... :tongue.gif:
It's minecraft.
Does it really make sense that punching trees gives you wood? -
