Sep 1, 2012Well, I literally burst out laughing when I saw the dance animation, even better when I started sneaking and the animation kept playing; never fix that. I already managed a bunny on the default model, so I don't have as much a use for that aspect, but those are some excellent RP animations. You should really make the item on your back an option, however, since I'm not particularly fond of it, and I know I'm not the only one.Posted in: Minecraft Mods

No one is making you use these new items and features. If you don't like 'em, don't use 'em!
If I want books now, they stink of dead cow. Obviously don't use the new features, what of the old things that were changed for no reason? What about the literally unplayable buggy nature of both Singleplayer and Multiplayer? I clearly stated that I'm fine with new features that I have no use for, but they are breaching the existing aspects of the game with their changes. That's the part that irks me.

But, yeah, 1.3.1 is buggy. Work in progress.
The snapshots had the excuse of "work in progress," releasing it to the public in this state is just unprofessional.

So, basically, the only reason you don't like Jeb's additions to Minecraft is because They Changed It Now It Sucks?
I'm fine with "additions," content that is useless to me is still content after all... I'm honestly not mad about writable books, even if my playstyle has no use for them, but they've crossed the line between "Pointless new content but content nonetheless" and "Let's just start fixing things that aren't broken!"
Aug 13, 2012Jeb and Dinnerbone seem nether-bent on making Minecraft more of a "game" than it should be. Minecraft was, and should remain an aimless sandbox all about player choice, and the freedom to play in any way you see fit. Explore, build, hunt animals (or don't!) Minecraft isn't the same for everyone. They are placing way too much focus on one particular style of gameplay lately; getting the best gear and now (for 1.4) slaying tough rare monsters. They need to diversify and spread out their content.Posted in: Recent Updates and Snapshots
Endermen and Silverfish (Tough rare monsters to fight!)
Sprinting and Critical Hits (New ways to fight them!)
Strongholds and Mine shafts (Go explore!)
Melons and pumpkin farming (Harvest Mines!)
New health regeneration system (As controversial as it was, you have to admit it only made building and exploring easier long-term.)
"Improved" Enchanting (Fixing nary a broken system! But hey, EASY GEAR!)
Trading (Trade up to the point where you can buy MORE GEAR!)
The "Merge" (Let's bring most of the bugs from multiplayer to singleplayer, and add more while we're at it! Who cares that the game has gone gold already?)
Writable Books (People aren't killing enough chickens and squids, let's lock out animal lovers from a larger percentage of content!)
Changing of the alpha-old book recipe (Let's try and fix what isn't broken some more, and then not even put it in the patch notes!)
Farmable Cocoa (Hey, let's make this ugly jungle wood useful and let people grow something that they should have been able to grow eons ago!)
"Fixed" Pistons (Don't get attached to your worlds
until Minecraft is out of betaever.)
All in all, I agree. And I flat out refuse to keep this update until OldDays gets a stable updated version.

To my annoyance, the zombie villager does not actually have it's own texture file.
We absolutely need a separate skin for each zombified villager profession. I've been working on a texture pack with villagers that come from hither and yon; Owlkin, Rabbit People, Frogfolk, how in the nether am I supposed to adapt to this without destroying the variety I already have?
Aug 9, 2012ShiftSix posted a message on Why do Villager emotions have to be more PARTICLES?You know, you can make the models expressive, guys. Breathe some life into the blocky things! Villagers have reached the point where I'm certain that on the inside, they are just sprite pinatas. Give them facial expressions! Make them bow when happy, and look down, shaking their head slightly when mad! Make them jump around giddily after they rip you off, something!Posted in: Suggestions
Aug 9, 2012Honestly, I have nothing against the texture, but it is just the right shade of gray to make the crosshair nearly invisible when looked directly at from a distance:Posted in: Recent Updates and Snapshots
This could be solved by returning the pinkness to it, even if the detail remains, this would also help address other people's complaints.
Aug 8, 2012I've said this before, and I'll say it again, I dislike much more of 1.3 than I like. Farmable Cocoa and Netherwart in the Overworld are the only thoroughly positive changes. Trading is terrible, using a new ore for it is terrible, leather for books and the required meat trades are a step away from the freedom that defines Minecraft. Rotating logs need a system more like levers, and less like pistons. The merge should have happened a long time ago, it's too late to introduce all these new bugs now. I agree. 1.3 is a joke, and I'm not leaving 1.2.5 until a stable OldDays release.Posted in: Recent Updates and Snapshots

Amen. I'm tired of Jeb/Dinnerbone overdoing everything. This should just be "rare loot tweaked for difficulty settings and visible/active on monsters." We don't need baby zombies in diamond armor.
Aug 5, 2012Honestly, I think blocking should block all damage for the first two or three game ticks (20th of a second) with rapid reduction in resistance the longer you maintain it, with a visual indicator that works like a reverse eating animation. (in your face at first, gradually but quickly moves back to native in-hand position.)Posted in: Suggestions
Jul 27, 2012Anyone else notice the long head on the skeleton? It looks like a Villager from the PC version. Anyways, my favorite is the hand over the fire. Perfect for the home of the hospitable one.Posted in: MCX360: Discussion
