Looking good. I can never, ever do grass or dirt, so kudos to you.
This is my progress so far (using Jimmy's palette).
I'm aware the rails are tiling oddly - I've fixed it but can't be bothered updating the screenshot. The vine's greener because it's using minecraft's biome tinting. What I actually have to work with is the dismal green you can see on the Emerald.
Looks good so far, but I'd suggest skipping the cracks on smoothstone slabs, those tend to be, well... smooth.
(There's coal ore in the fireplace, but it's kind of hard to see, I'll post a terrain.png update soon.)

I thought that dithering was a "no no".
I use it more often to mix colors than I do for detail, and given how restrictive iipod's palette is, I don't really have any other way of making anything look remotely varied. But I suppose I could cut back on the times when I use it for shading and go for something sharper.

Here's my update, not sure I like it much but here ya go.
Top row: Coal, Iron, Gold, Diamond, Emerald, Redstone
Bottom: Smooth Stone, Gravel, Dirt, Side grass, Top grass.
I like the symbol ores, though you might want redstone to be a hollow heart, or something. Missing a card suit seems off for some reason...

Like a stuffed animal, or a piece of paper, or something.
Snagging that idea! I was looking for a way to stuff my ego in here! (har, har.)
Also, I finally found a use for those pinks and purples.

Here's a WIP from me.
It's pretty bad, so all of you people who think your work doesn't cut it, prepare for a confidence boost!
Dark, atmospheric, I like it; very Halloween-y.
Foliage fun for everyone!
Still iipods pallete, but I decided not to skip on foliage colors,it's amazing what Minecraft will consider gray.

Okay, well I decided to just go with Neoncube's palette like I was going to originally. Definitely outside my comfort zone, but then again that's the point.
Very nice, very Joliesque

Nope they are gone. It was just a one snapshot thing
Quote from doctorseaweed2
Nope. They added them to the game just to remove them in the next snapshot.

Naaah these little things are never going into Minecraft.

They ain't worth it. They don't drop anything useful. They r pointlis an stooped.
Don't let these guys fool you, bats are very likely to be permanent, however they may see some changes before the actual 1.4 release. I've yet to see a feature that's enabled in a snapshot be flat out removed by the launch of the update.
Sep 14, 2012Love it! If I could make a suggestion though:Posted in: Minecraft Mods
Make damage enchantments for swords increase base damage rather than add a random amount on each swing, I personally hate the way Sharpness/Smite/Bane of Arthropods are implemented in vanilla Minecraft.

nice one! I had retextured my leather armor into a black suit, maybe you can understand why I didn't like the old way of colouring leather armor before ;P
But not the suit can remain black, for all eternity!! muahahaha
With a dyable tie!
(The texture artist in me occasionally overrides my hatred for killing animals.)
Sep 6, 2012Clean out a mineshaft of cobwebs and cave spiders, light it up, seal off dead ends, and spawn it in the square room. Use the supports to slow it down, and litter it with arrows while running around in those naturally-generated corridors, once it activates Wither Armor, start using splash potions or your sword while it continues to eat the supports in pursuit. With a big enough mineshaft at your disposal, the fight should be a cinch.Posted in: Discussion

It is a legitimate question; if one cow should drop its special loot every time it is killed, should the other mobs?
The answer is yes, they should. Blazes and skeletons are literally made of their unique items. Endermen are too obnoxious to fight to get nothing out of it. Creepers capable of igniting also must have gunpowder somewhere in their crunchy, leafy bodies. Cows are obviously wearing their own hides. They added guaranteed porkchops to pigs, so why not extend that certainty mentality?
