It is another block that is on top of the rest of the sand around it. this has been discussed to death the F1 command to remove the HUD is active so you would not see the hand or block being held.

I am currently 28. When I started playing Minecraft during Alpha most players where only a few (1-3) years younger then I was. Mostly due to it still being an unknown thing to most people, so for the most part the people that bought it where people with the resources to purchase it themselves without relying on their parents. I still play from time to time, though mostly on my server as I get bored of the game fairly quickly playing by myself.

Nope. I do not plan on resetting my server after the update. It has been stated that the updates to the End will not require you to reset your End either.
You are free to update without problems. Though just in case, I would recommend creating a backup of your world.

I am running minecraft 1.8.1 with optifine and shaders and it work fine for me on Windows10.
Try making sure your graphics drivers are all up to date. It might help.

As a server owner I have had some dumb reasons to have to kick or ban someone. I am fairly reasonable, but here is a story from yesterday.
New person joins the server for the first time, after a few minutes the new person gives me a book with clickable text simply saying KLICKHEIR. (on my server all new players spawn in with 1 book&quill) Of course I do not click it. a few minutes later the person ask if they can have GM1. I simply replied "no". Then my anticheat plugin notifications light up on the new person and the plugin auto kicks them, twice. They have yet to return again.

Firstly, Item duplication glitches I consider cheating. Secondly, If you own the server you could just use console commands to give yourself as many diamonds as you want.

Good luck to you. It is really hard to create a successful server like that this days. I have tried. Took me nearly 2 years to make a semi-successful server like the one you are trying to make.

Try using the command /region flag [Region name] use allow
Also in your "server.properties" set your "spawn-protection=0" the servers default spawn protection can sometimes block sign usage.

How can we come in game to help if you give us zero information about the server IP or how to join you?
I run a server and am knowledgeable in how to set up sign shops. I have many working sign shops on my server with now issues.

I believe that IOS and Android versions of Minecraft are identical apart from OS compatibility. So a Pocket edition server should work for IOS, Android and Windows Phone versions of Minecraft.
