posted a message on Looking for a Co-Owner and Head-Admin
    IGN: Koredir.

Positions: I'm not a member of staff in any other server.

**I wanted to note that about which position I would like - I wouldn't like to be head admin (I'm not sure I know what you need in order to be a head admin - responsabilities and such). but I would like to be an admin or even start off as a mod, if I'm not qualified enough.**

Reason for wanting this position: I like the game and I like helping others. I know the game well and I think I can contribute a lot to the community of the server. Also, I think it's fun, being an admin or a mod.

Experience: Only in a different game but the idea of the job was the same. No experience in Minecraft tho.

Contact Info: I got skype, email and facebook.

Dedicated time: 5-6 hours a day unless I got exams which will mean 3-4 hours a day, sometimes more.

What can you bring: I can bring a fun vibe to the server and players. I can ease the experience of newcomers as well as veterans if they encounter problems when playing. I am mature, relaxed and polite. Also I got pretty good jokes.

Proof of work: There isn't anything to proove, yet.

    Timezone: GMT +2

About yourself: I am 16, male. I like animals, I have 2 dogs and 2 cats. I like to BBQ a lot with friends and my favorite movie and 2nd favorite game is The Lord of The Rings, first being Bioshock and third Minecraft. I am mature and nice. I don't get angry fast as I have a little brother which is pretty much a whole lifetime long anger management class. I'm not very.. Artistic as you may call it. My builds look lousy, but I always say that if it works, I'm ok with it. I don't really care for fancy buildings and stuff like that. Probably because I'm not good at it ;) . I am also into music, Led Zeppelin, Radiohead, Metallica and The Offspring are my favorite bands. I live in Israel, but I have very good English.

Others\Extras: I know the rules of admins and players in the game, and I act with common sense when I don't. I follow the rules, listen to what I'm told and take advice. I am a fast learner and I think picking me for the job is a smart move.

    Thanks for reading my application!

Role: Admin, although if I'm not qualified enough I don't mind being a lower rank.

    IGN: Koredir

    Age: 16

    Bans: None.

Experiece: I have never been a staff in a Minecraft server before but I do have experience from other games (The idea of the job is the same, just a few little tweaks).

Maturity: I am mature and relaxed, I don't get into fights and I know how to deal with annoying people.

How can I help: I can help preventing griefs by enforcing the rules, as well as stopping fights and every other actions that break the server's rules. In addition, I can help new players as well as veterans of the server with their problems, whether it's a chest that they want to lock or a building that got griefed. Bottom line, I think I can contribute a lot for this server.

Do I have good grammar: Yes.

    Timezone: +2 GMT

Plugin Knowledge/Building abilities: Plug knowledge - I know what basic plugins do and I know their player commands, nothing more. Building abillities: Not much of a builder, but I think I'm not that bad either. I build a lot when I'm bored. Also, if plugin knowledge is required I'm a fast learner.

How much will you dedicate to the server: I will be online a lot, generally. I would say 5-6 hours a day, except on thuesdays when I go to my dads (parents are divorced) and once in a while when I have a lot of exams I will only be on like 3 hours a day.

How long have you been playing Minecraft: A little after it was released, on and off. I know pretty much everything about the game.

How will I treat new players: I think new players are just as important as veterans and I will respect them just as much. Also, I will help them with questions about the server, problems they are having etc.

How will I treat Rule-Breakers: Depending on how bad the action of the player was, I would either mute, kick, temporarily ban or permanently ban them. For example if a player is cursing (if cursing is forbidden on this server) I will kick him. If he doesn't stop, I will mute him, and if he keeps on going I will ban him for a day or 2. I will still respect rule breakers, as long as they stop.

Why should we pick you: You should pick me because I am mature, familiar with Minecraft, know the basic rules of players and admins and I follow these rules. I have good English, I'm not usually rude or angry and I am generally nice. I like helping others and spend time doing so. I like Minecraft, and I think I'm going to like being an admin as well. I am responsible and will be loyal to the server if I'm picked. I'm online most of the day and reaching me is easy via Skype or Email.

Tell us more about you: I am a boy, I like animals and I have 2 dogs and 2 cats. I like music and listen to Metallica, Radiohead, The Offspring, Led Zeppelin and more great bands. I like making firecrackers with home made materials and I BBQ a lot with my friends. My favorite band is Radiohead and my favorite movie is The Lord of The Rings. My favorite games are: Bioshock at the top, then LOTRO then Minecraft. I live in Israel and my parents are divorced, as I mentioned before. I go to school and hoping to get to med school. I also Scuba Dive, favorite places are abandoned ships.

Thanks for reading my application, you won't regret picking me!

I have built Dcom's golum farm on my island survival, so I might be able to save you a bit on your villager spawner. Since I was on an island, I had no villages to get villagers from. instead I cured three zombie villagers from a zombie spawner I found underground - transported them to the surface and built a villager trading machine, which I then used to breed villagers for the farm

A few extra tips, keep the trading machine at least 100 blocks away from the golum farm. use water elevators to get them up to the higher ones, then build a minecart track up there to move them to which ever pool you are filling at the time - you only need to get two in each pool to start the machine.

here are the videos I used to make my design's

the actual trapping of zombie villagers and curing happens around the 4 min mark.

all I did to get villagers from this machine was to remove one of the blocks in front of it's minecarts, connected it to the track that goes to the farm , and pushed minecarts into the machine to get the villagers out.

Thanks, will probably use that technique as well. After all, my mob farm does have.. 8 zombie spawners in it ;)

As long as any player is close enough to the chunks it is on to keep them loaded the farm will keep running, on an SMP server you are going to need to automate it so that the golems fall on pressure plates and activate the crushers themselves (or use a cycle timer), then have the water push the iron into a hopper that feeds it into a chest (or multiple chests connected by hoppers). That way you wont ever have enough entities spawned at once to lag the server even if it is running all the time.

The default distance to unload chunks is 10 chunks away but the game doesn't count the chunk your in so it is really more like between 10 and 11 chunks distance. The thing will keep running unless there is no player within the range of between 160 and 176 blocks of it, so it will probably lag the server when your away if you don't automate the killing process.

I see, thanks for the info and idea ;) Sounds pretty awesome, I will put it near my public mob farm and automate the killing process and ill have plenty of iron! Awesome.

The chunk where you build the farm has to be loaded, so I think you have to be like within 140 blocks or something. What I did, was that I built it close to my main base. A place I am a lot. Use tracks or a water elevator to get the villagers up to the highest spawner cell. I did it in my LP episode called "The Iron Golem farm", if you want to see how to do it.

Ty, will certinly check it out.

OK so yeah I did mean an Iron GOLEM farm. I ment that I will get a spawner for the villagers since I don't have any spawn eggs of em. Thanks for the info :)

If You Meant Iron Golem Farms... There Not Woth It. You Find Iron Nearly Everywhere When Mining So Whats The Point

The point is I don't want to go mining because I wanna go afk and then collect so I only waste like 10 minutes of playtime but I get 2 stacks of iron.

    Quote from Freezerpick

Do you mean an Iron Golem farm? If so they are totally worth it :) I built one in my LP and it fills up really fast.

Check out Docm77`s tutorial on the Iron Golem farm on youtube!

Another thing - I have watched some of Docm's video tutorial but.. How can I get the villagers to the upper part? And do the Iron Golems keep spawning when I am away too? If so, won't it clog up the server really bad eventually?

So I wanted to make an iron farm in an SMP server I am playing but before I buy the spawner and build the whole thing and waste a lot of money on it I wanted to ask if it's really productive and useful or will I only get like a stack of iron per hour? Also if you got video tutorials you recommend please let me know :)

I know I'm being the annoying one here, but go to a new server.

I actually thought of a new server but I just can't find a good one. Everything is either too laggy, the towns are too lame, too new and lacks commands or too few people..

I named my cat Loki. Best name for a cat ever cause in a few weeks that critter will begin to cause all types of hell.

Though she tought her name was "DAMMIT!" for the longest time.

Don't like Diablo, lol on the cat and I am going to the army after 2 more years of school for 3 years then med school so shut up.

Pvp sounds good but it's in a different server so I would have to start over :(

So I am playing in that online server and I have done almost everythingI could:
-I got rich, one of the richest on the server.
-I made an xp farm only for me with 8 spawners and 2 hit k.o with a fist.
-I have 4 houses, my own island and my own mushroom island.
    -I built a village.
-I have several shops made of diamond blocks.
-I have a house in the end.
    -I have an enchanting/brewing house.
-I have a room with a villager spawner for trades.
-I have all kinds of farms.
-I got banned for 10 days.

What else can I do??? And also I got a new cat in real life, shes 2 weeks old. Ideas for names?

You'd possibly like the Lunaverse: play.luna-network.com
We are a 200 slot 24/7 server (but I'd say that 15-20 people play there regularly), and there is pretty much no lag from the servers side.
It is a multiverse, which means we have different worlds. The survival world is a towny, no pvp and economy based survival world. A creative world, if you like to build with full creative menu, you can do so. And also an events world where we have mini-games, and sometimes bigger events.
We also have a teamspeak server, so feel free to come join us there: voice.luna-network.com

If you are interested, go get yourself greylisted at: tinyurl.com/lunaverse with you ign and age.

I sure do hope you'll consider joining us :D
    -Selene

Thanks :) Sounds like what I'm looking for. Posted a reply on the thread with my age and ign.

posted a message on Ideas on how to improve this farm?
First off let me say that I am not 100% sure that this is where I should post this question but it seems appropriate since in creative mode you build stuff :P

In a server that I am playing I have built an XP farm with 4 creeper spawners. The creeprs fall down and die with one-two hits of my fist. Now I want to add like 4 more spawners, making this farm insane. But there is the problem - how do I do that if I need to maintain space between spawners so they release enough mobs and keep the spawners close enough to the farming point so they actually spawn mobs. The point in which the creepers fall is right below the spawners in the middle (about 6 blocks below them) and the other spawners from the sides are like 4-5 blocks to each side, like this: * = block

    [spawner]*****[spawner]*****[spawner]*****[spawner]

    *
    *
    *
    *
    *
    {Me}

The roof is very tall. Any ideas?

EDIT: It doesn't count spaces but I am in the middle.

Hi, I am looking for a (preferably new) small SMP server. No add ons like new monsters, no new items, no new ores, nothing special. Not too laggy and not full all the time at 50/50.. Also if possible access to all features of the server without paying for them.

    Thanks in advance!
