Yeah, it is a fantastic texture pack. Easiest to get working right, and looks fantastic. I like the style of it. I was using the Bordercraft one on my own. I might switch to that after I have a few things built in the game world.

Working on a boat dispenser at the moment, then an elevator that I want to make. Based on EATS and docm77 made a tutorial for a boat elevator. So with those concepts, should be interesting to see if I can do it. Of course it will be recorded for YouTube. :biggrin.gif:

This is a stab at my very first Minecraft video. So if you are interested in helping out possibly with the direction, even some feedback would be good. I didn't have a script or anything for this, as it was mostly a test run to get the perfect settings at recording and editing the video. It seems to have worked and now it is time to unleash it to the public.

I do talk about belief in there (religious undertones), as I plan to create a series coupling the two concepts together. Minecraft and Christianity. I plan to keep this at a minimum, but this is an effort to play the game I enjoy and get a message out to the world as well.

Feedback, feedback, feedback. I would love to see someone brave enough to check it out and either comment right in YouTube or even here.

Thanks for taking the time and enjoy!

Well, I'm looking at starting one. Not sure if it will be multiplayer, haven't thought of that concept. I'll have to think on that.

posted a message on New Let's Play - Feedback Please?
Hello everyone in the Minecraft community here! It has been forever since I have played and I'm rusty as a run down iron pickaxe! I was seeing the new Let's Play series popping up due to the 1.0.0 version, and so I was thinking of hopping on that wagon. Of course I would be uploading the videos to YouTube, as that seems to be a good method to get content up and on the web these days. If you are interested in helping the direction of this series, then read on!

    • Synopsis: A Let's Play series where YOU get to tell me what to do. Whether it is explore, resource gathering, house building, etc. It is all up in the air and I will let you, the audience direct the action.
    • Frequency: About once a week.
    • Length: I was thinking about 30 minutes a video, depends if I can pull off enough content.
    • Theme: Commentary, otherwise who would want to watch a video where you run around doing stuff without any talking. Would explain any weirdness and other strangeness going on. Even would allow me to ask the audience of what should be filmed next. As well since I'm a Christian, I was looking at throwing that into the mix. Maybe some apologetics. Depending if people would be open to that. Obviously it would be all clean and tasteful, it just bothered me that other "Christian's" bash video games and unfortunately I disagree with many of those views. So obviously there would be no profanity.
    • Time Playing Minecraft: Bought it back when it was in Alpha, so yeah, I've been keeping up some what.

Well, I don't have much experience on a good part of the game as I haven't even reached the Nether or anything of that sort yet. I plan to go there for the Blaze Rods for brewing, and I plan on doing some interesting redstone projects, eventually. Of course I'll be working to enchant, since that seems to be achievable early on. I'm looking at even doing a bit more, but that all depends on how well the feedback is. Just remember I'm open to suggestions and anything else that I didn't think to mention.

Thank you all for any feedback, and I hope to see if anyone even bothers to respond. If you have read this far, then thank you for taking the time and effort to read this information and I look forward to seeing the responses.

    Best Regards,

    Martin a.k.a. Sharlenwar

If you know of any lugins that do just let me know.

Well, I found the Essentials plugin to do most of what you would need. You can find that here: http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/gen-essentials-v2-0%CE%B2-collection-of-essential-plugins-in-one-package-multiple.1262/. Then I would also get the plugin for managing group privileges and what not, found here: http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/admn-info-groupmanager-v1-0-pre-alpha-because-permissions-2-x-is-past-326-485.4723/.

Otherwise if you have any other questions, feel free to PM me. Good luck!

Well, I have been using this as a way to backup my server files. Since I like to make sure I have daily backups, this allows me to quickly bring the server down, backup, and get it back up and running. It has minimized our downtime for manual backups.

So far I haven't found anything wrong with the Windows version. Awesome job!

posted a message on NoName Vanilla Server - [24/7] [Dedicated]
Well, since I'm new to the scene I might as well create a completely vanilla server. What I ask, is anyone who comes to play, please refrain from Griefing if it is in your nature, please respect others as you are going about in the game, and please don't grow attached to your places or structures.

I am as well learning how to play Minecraft, and figured that doing it in a multiplayer environment would be fun. I also do plan on using the mods that other servers seem to use, just as soon as I figure out the ropes.

So, the point of this server is just to hop on, run around, maybe build a few things. Survive. Find other players and see what sort of places we can build. I also ask that all of you please keep to building structures as real as possible. This means that if you need a tower to survey the surroundings, find a nice hill, build a mine, and build a nice tower to do so. Try to roleplay a character that needs to survive in the world somehow. Thus, no items will be given out, nothing handed. Just use what is in the world. If you find a chest, be nice and take only what you need. Don't clear it out. Heck, as I play I'll have a chest in the middle of no where. You are free to it, as long as you give back some items, or leave some in there.

Anyways, to connect you can type in the IP: demuria.game-server.cc

    To summarize:
      [*:26cofr4u]No Griefing
      [*:26cofr4u]Be Respectful of Others
      [*:26cofr4u]Have Fun!

For those interested further in helping me out in learning about how to run a server, you can always visit the forums I have setup at: http://www.demurianrealms.org/forums/index.php?/forum/14-minecraft-project/. I look forward to seeing people online. There are 20 players that can be connected at one time. Since I have no idea how the lag will be. There should be very little, if any, but you never know. Have fun!

posted a message on Minecraft Server...
Now, I have been combing the forums here. A lot of information to process and now I'm at the point where I'm stumped and need a bit more pointing in the right direction. I've discovered Minecraft here in the past couple of days. I'm in love with it!

From playing around, I know that one could spend literally hours on creating a world. I tried out the multiplayer server, and again I am amazed. There is this basic game concept that works and keeps us all entertained. Of course in the past I have run various servers for other games, so I understand the networking, etc. I was wondering if the community could point me in the right direction, I want to run my own server and I see some servers already out there that amaze me. They also boast various "plug-ins", which seem to be modules that change the behavior of Minecraft? I guess really, are there any guides out there that go beyond the "Load Server, Connect, Voila!" routine. I'm looking for more the next step after, once I have the server running, is there a sort of "GM" mode? What sort of administering abilities do I have? What is every Admin's toolbox look like for your server?

Any help would be appreciated, and I'm glad to have stumbled upon this gem in the internet.
