Mojang just released a way to change your username every 30 days at account.mojang.com, however, you need an email and password to your account if you wish to do so unfortunately,

posted a message on Minecraft Launcher Failing
Hey all, so I'm having an issue starting up my minecraft client. When I click play, it starts initializing, and then crashes, giving me the message

Error: Could not start the java virtual machine

Error: A fatal exception has occurred.

On my game output it says

    Invalid maximum heap size: -Xmx4096M
The specified size exceeds the maximum representable size.

I changed the JVM argument in the profile editor from the orginal

    -Xmx1G -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC -XX:+CMSIncrementalMode -XX:-UseAdaptiveSizePolicy -Xmn128M to

    -Xmx4096M -Xms4096M

My client was running fine for the past 3 months like this, and I changed it back to the original command line and still got the same output. I also updated java about 2 days ago, and just tried to log in today, so I'm wondering if that could be an issue as well.

Any help would be appreciated ^_^

Alright thanks. One final question: How do I connect obelisks up to my other blocks? Every time I try to use my wrench to connect the blocks up it either does nothing or says "this source node doesn't provide any power that the destination can use"

Hey all, i'm currently trying to set up the light nexus for ArsMagica, but when I try to place the chalk, it just creates a symbol on the ground, titled as tile.arsmagica2:wizardChalk.name

I've been looking everywhere for the answer but haven't found it yet, since most of the content seems to be old. Was wondering if someone could tell me how to make it work or send me a correct link to making the nexus' work? Would really like to progress in AM, but this is stopping me right now.

I'm looking to install shaders for chromahills. Was wondering if someone could guide me through or send me a link to a proper tutorial.

I have magic launcher installed, but on start up I get an error and it just closes on me. Any help would be appreciated :D

Here's the copy pasta of the message after it closes and an image of the mod installation.

posted a message on Minecraft Client Bugged?
Update: It seems that my client is slightly more stable in the 1.7.4 client version. I can type commands or chat without the text being deleted. Also, one thing I forgot to mention was that the client would freeze when I died in game, and the only way to respawn was to exit out of the game and restart it. That is no longer an issue as well. Now it just seems that the client is constantly flashing (flickering) constantly.

Just a side note, how do I completely erase the minecraft files? I went to the .minecraft folder and tried to delete everything from screenshots, to maps, to bin figures, texture packs, and mods, but they all re-appear when I download the client of minecraft.net? Thanks.

    Some screenshots would be nice.

Screenshots wouldn't work as it wouldn't catch whats happening, but I can try to upload a 30 second segment on youtube if you would like.

posted a message on Minecraft Client Bugged?
Hi there, to give a brief history, I have been playing Minecraft for well over 2 years without any problems or issues. However, when the 1.6 update (yes it has been a while) that introduced horses and a few new items was released, my client started acting strangely. (This applies to every update after 1.6)

    A few issues that plague me are;
Minecraft client flickers constantly while I'm on it.
Loss of control character, ie; he will start jumping, moving in one direction untill I hit that same button, jumping up constantly, or in creative, flying down
Whenever I enter any text into anything, it deletes itself, whether it be entering a world seed in, typing a command into chat, saying anything in chat, or renaming any items, any word I type will be deleted. (I think it has to do with the flickering)

Now I have played Minecraft for the last few months with these issues, and it seems that removing any of the files or all of them, and re-installing the client have not worked for me. I have gone back to past versions such as 1.5.4, right before the horse update, and my client runs flawlessly again, with no issues.

I'm currently running on Windows 7, my graphics card is an old gtx 560, and yes, java is at the latest update. I'm hoping someone will be able to shed any light on this, and thanks for your time :) If there's any other info needed, just ask.

I'm running windows 7, but I've never had this problem in the 3 years I've played minecraft, and even with multiple programs in the back round, I've never had this problem

So ever since the 1.6 update came out, I've been having issues with my client, none of which I have ever experienced before.

I'm going to get straight down to the point here and try to be as detailed as possible...

    Issue 1:
When I use t, or / to open chat or commands, I will be typing a sentence and the whole sentence will be erased, or it will seem like someone is holding backspace on me. If I alt tab out of minecraft, there seems to be a 10 second grace period where I can type without it erasing everything.

    Issue 2:
This one is a little rarer, but sometimes I will be walking along or mining or doing something, and my character will suddenly keep walking, walk in a different direction, or stop crouching as if someone was holding down the wasd keys. Also, even more rare, sometimes my character will continue to hold left click even though I have let go of the mouse.

I've tried re installing the client, and changing my resolution on the new client startup menu, but those did not work, and I haven't seen this anywhere in the forums. Any help or insight would be appreciated, as it is ruining my minecraft experience.

Note* My minecraft icon on the task bar will sometimes flicker and disappear for a split second if that makes any noteworthy problems or causes.

This is in response to Wyld's post on the Acecraft forums...

I have to say, I've been here for almost 3 months, and I can honestly say this server feels like home. Before Acecraft, I rarely pvped, and I never built anything really good. However, the competitiveness of Acecraft inspired me to actually get into pvp, going on hunts with others and sometimes a killing spree or two. It also caused me to build some really cool things that surprised even me, (such as my wizard tower, I still question how I built it, lol!) as I wanted something to stand out on this war torn server. The spawn is what I truly like about the server, as it feels more like a base to hang out rather then just a simple symmetric design, and seems to be the source of much grouping. Lastly, the people of Acecraft...Ever since Bugsbunny93 and Tantan89 took me into their faction, I have been able to meet some amazing people. But there is so much to say about everyone that I could fill an entire page, so I will have to leave it as this: Truly Unique.

This server is truly amazing. With new and amazing builds, a constantly changing environment, and friendly people, it is one worth joining, and staying around for a while. Thanks people of Acecraft, for the amazing experience, and here's to hoping more will come!
