Flying, is actually part of regular minecraft you just need to enable creative mode. You can enable creative mode by either creating a new world in creative, or through the "/gamemode 1" command. If commands are not enabled you can enable them by opening up your save to Lan play. More info can be found on the minecraft wiki.
If you want to noclip or fly through blocks use the Voxel modpack.
Now there are certain mods that let you fly in survival mode for example industrial craft has a jetpack.
Well not quite sure what you are refering to but their are map related mods. For example there is a minimap mod called MapWriter and a real-time mapping mod called JourneyMap. The JourneyMap mod outputs a map shows player locations and is view-able through a web browser.
Are there any major limiting factors on fishing? I know you have to bait the rod, but where should I fish(ex: how deep the water needs to be) and are different baits comparably better than others? I'm using rotten flesh ATM, set my lure down in a river from about morning to 3/4 of the day, then set my lure in some deeper water for the rest of the day, got nothing. Not even a bite. And on another note, I'm about to have to flatten a mountain just to get chickens in my base. Is it safe to pen them with tamed wolves? (I have a fence around about eight full-grown wolves. I barely ever feed them, wondering if they will murder the chickens.)
Actually their are a bunch of limiting factors. For example you won't catch anything if you fish at night, unless their is a full moon. Fishing during the day is mediocre with the best time to fish is dawn or dusk. Also the rain increases fish bites.
So I have been playing BTW for the past month and am proud of myself because I have my first base with renewable food. I know I am still pretty low on the tech tree but it’s a start and am having a blast. Here are some pics of my base.

Whats the need in replacing a core class? Your only adding a recipe. Modloader support is vital.
Modloader has not been updated to 1.3.1! This recent version introduced an exorbitant amount of changes to the minecraft mechanics. It might take a while to port modloader over.

Because the mod changed the crafting recipe. You now need an ax to chop the logs.
Try putting an ax in the crafting grid next to the log.

The axle, not the air is on fire. Axles are flammable despite having a small bounding box.

Yea and this mod probably breaks mp. Come on this is his first mod, the important thing is that Bloxgate learns something about programming.
