You walk across the room and open the fridge. Inside are just a few bottles of water. You take one of the bottles of water out and chug it down. You take the other bottle of water out and drink half of it, and just can't finish the rest. You stuff it in your pack along with the last water bottle. You look around the fridge some more. A few apples, some clementines, some beer, a 'lunch meat' pack of ham, and half a gallon of milk. On top of the fridge is some cereal.

Lol frog. Sofas, as in, couches.

You head into the kitchen (We will go to the bathroom after we check out the kitchen, riptide). Not much is there, because today is shopping day. Cupboards and cabinets align the walls of the kitchen, although most of them are empty. The counters are bare except for a small steak knife and a chopping board, because your friend borrowed most of your silverware for a barbeque last week and never returned them. The silver fridge is shut, and you can't remember what's in it.

You walk down the stairs that lead you to the living room. The living room isn't much. A large television, two sofas, and a coffee table. Behind one of the soafas is the entrance to the kitchen. Across the room from the kitchen entrance is the bathroom entrance, and near the stairs is the door to outside.

You slip on the blue long sleve, the coat, a pair of socks, a pair of jeans, and the shoes. You grab the small backpack and slip the rest of the clothes in it for storage, and then put the backpack on your back.

Hello Ladies and gentlemen! I take great plasure in introducing you to Total Darkness I: Plague. This is something that I've tried before but it turned into a hudge flop, mainy because it was one of my first posts and I was still getting the hang of the forums. But now, it's back and better than ever! Now that I have some experience with RPGs and CYOA (Choose your own adventure) games, it should be a great success. So, without farther adieu, let's jump right into the game rules and story

    Story

In the year 2016 on May 4th, a Russian scientist by the name of Rasputin Vulnock created a "Super Vaccine", said to cure most diseases within days and increase your immunity to future illness. Rasputin injected the vaccine into himself to make sure it worked, and it did. No side effects were present at the time of injection, and the vaccine was passed as a public medicine, for a price. The rich swiped up the vaccines as soon as they hit the market. A week after Rasputin injected himself, things began to happen to his brain and muscles. His brain became unresponsive and his muscles began to lock up and then have fierce spasams within seconds of eachother.

More and more reports of the sickness were brought to the attention of the media, which blew the entire thing out of proportion. What they didin't catch was the fact that anyone that bought the vaccine were becoming ill. Instead of banning the vaccine, they encouraged buying it and injecting yourself with the vaccine to prevent the sickness.

More and more people bought the vaccine and within three days, 10% of Americans bought the vaccine and even more Europeans bought the vaccine. This was causing a world wide epidemic. After the three days of massive sale, Rasputin, and everyone else who bought the vaccine as soon as it came out, were pronounced dead after a week in a hospital. A day after their death, the vaccine did something to their bodies. It made their brains slightly active. The vaccine activated just enough brain cells for them to shamble around and think to minor extents.

One problem. The vaccine re-wired their brains, it made them crave flesh. Two days after Rasputin's death, when they were still holding on to hope at the hospital that some how, he would still be alive, his heart moniter began to beep. He slowly regained consciousness and stared blankly at the room around him. He slowly got up, and in doing so, knocked the medical equipment too the floor. The doctors asked him to sit down, but instead Rasputin reacted in anger, he lunged at the doctors, cutting them with his finger nails and biting one of them. Security guards ran into the hospital room and tried to put Rasputin to sleep with various tranqulizers, but to no avail. Rasputin clawer through the guards' uniforms, and maganged to bite one of the guards. One of the guards pulled out a handgun and shot Rasputin three times, but the bullets just threw through his skin without causing Rasputin pain. He continued to shoot Rasputin to no avail until one of the 9MM bullets hit his head, which dropped him instantly.

The hospitals holding the people who purchased the vaccine were experiencing the same situations. Many doctors, nurses and security guards were bitten and scratched, but they didn't pay much mind to the wounds. But the thing that they didn't understand was that the vaccine altered the user's salaiva, making bites spread the vaccine effects, and speeding them up. It took 48 hours for the bitten to change into flesh craving lunatics. rather than the week it normaly took.

    T
he government didn't pay much attention to the spread, and thought it was only city wide, and didn't even bother to quarantine the problem. The local news papers only paid attention to the spread within their own city, so other towns, cities, and even states had no idea of the epidemic. The disease spread from city to city, state to state until only one un infected state remained, and the government finally took action. This state was Oregon. Many platoons and squads moved to Oregon to keep the infection out, but they only made it worse. Soldiers that were bitten hid their bites, and people that showed their bites were killed on spot, so they had no reason to show their bites.
It is May 23, 2016. You live in Oregon. It has been one day since the millitary moved in. It is one day till all hell brakes loose and Oregon is no longer a Uninfected state. And you are a survivor.

    Rules
    The rules are simple.
    1) The player in controlled by everyone, so your actions effect the entire game.
    2) I control the outcome of what happens, you control what the character does. Say you type "______ Looks for stuff in that crate" Then I would say "You found nothing", "You found a Remington 870", "You found some 12 gauge shells", and so on and so forth.
    3) Speech goes the same way most events do. You control what out character says, and I control what the other speech partner says.
    4) Any control attempt where it adds an outcome as well as an action will be ignored and rejected.

    Death
Death is bound to happen, we just don't know when. What happens when out character dies is, all the stats are reset, all the progress is gone, and we start fresh with a new character, so, yeah, death has a major penalty!

    Suicide
At any time, someone could start contemplating suicide. If five other people say "Hey, we should kill ourselves and start over", out character will kill themselves, thus ending his / her story.

    Health
The character has a maximum health of 100%. Some attacks cause bleeding damage which will cause a base damage, then cause the player to bleed, dealing more damage. Things like bandages can stop bleeding but will not refill health, and things like pain killers and rest will restore health but not stop bleeding.

    Food & Drink
The character must eat and drink to survive. Hunger decreases slower than thirst, but food is harder to come by than say, a glass of water or some Pepsi. At 50% for both hunger and thirst, bad things start happening. You be come more tired quicker, stats and skills decrease, and if hunger or thirst decreases to 0%, the character will die.

    Thinking
If you're stuck and don't know what the hell to do, say "______ Thinks" to get a hint from me.

    Our Starting Character and Story

Since this is the starting character and I bet he won't last long, I will create him in my image. If and when he dies, I will give 100& control of out character to you guys.

    Name: Shadss Anlind
    Age: 23
    Height: 6.1
    Wheight: 210
    Race: Caucasian
Appearence: Medium length brown hair, blueish grey eyes, somewhat boney hands, "Garden Hose" viens, slender.

    Our Story:
You wake up with a ringing in your head and look over to see the alarm clock ringing as well, it's 8:00 AM. You hit the snooze button on the alarm clock and look around the room, dazed. Your moniter is still on with you computer still running, beer bottles are scattered along the floor, and you're in nothing but your underware. You strech and hop out of bed. As soon as you stand up, you feel itense pain in your head. You look around the room again. Near your bed is a desk with a lamp and a book on top of the desk. In the corner of the room is your running computer. In the right wall is your closet, full of clothes. Near your desk, holding the computer, is a mini fridge. Across from your bed is the doors to downstairs. Above the head piece of your bed is a window leading outside. Beer bottles are scattered around the floor. You have no knowledge of the epidemic currently infesting your state.
