I'm reminded of this issue posted on Reddit about CrC. (I found it because I have the same problem. Didn't report it yet, though, because it's clearly a known - and bizarre - issue, and I have no new info to add so far. I had very similar log results to the poster.)

My point is that just because a mod causes a performance hit on some systems apparently doesn't mean that that will happen on all systems - not because of stronger or weaker hardware, but because of weird black magic that no one seems to fully understand.

Eh oh well. Maybe newer versions have this fixed.

Mod author's are under no obligation to continue to produce mods. Seeing how many MC versions have been released recently, I wouldn't either.

Honestly I think the people at mojang should stop making every other update need a rewrite or we come together as a community, choose a minecraft version and never ever leave from it again. All mods would be basically tied to that version.
I don't see us missing anything in the next few updates and we would stay there until minecxraft actually adds something that changes game play, like a new dimension, not parrots.
You want the new update features? Let's just have some modders dedicated to making a mod to resemble the new minecraft updates. New update adds a bear, new ore and more fireworks? Just code them in the previous version. There, no mods broken.

1.Mod developers would have more time to update their mods and spend less time developing it
    2. May put pressure on minecraft to release a mod api and just accept forge as offical
    3. Community would probably live in a very good age to download and play mods.

i Have a modpack with 250 including Chromaticraft ,Reactorcraft ,Rotarycraft and Dragonapi .And still have 60-150 Fps in the Overworld with a fully build out World.
    My specs a :Intel E3-1231 v3@ 3.40Ghz
    24GB ram
and a nvidia 970 msi edition

The report wasn't here to compare PC specs at all and it shows you didn't read. I compared with and without the mod and it's one of the largest drops I've seen a API do. If you want to prove me wrong then post what happened before and after the mod installation. THank yiou and hav ea nice day until then.

i'll be honest here i'm probably going for shockbyte but why is it listed "Powerful CPU?" If all of your company is using the same cpu's than how could it get more powerful? I'm just cautious with them.

cheap one - It's the only one thatactually lists whats running in their servers and it's the best one out of all server providers I've found. The thing that bothers me with this server provider is the fact that it highly sounds like the'yre overselling. I've asked a while back ago and their support team said no they don't oversell but I don't know if I trust that. (Overselling is basically things like sharing a cpu core or multiple servers sharing ram.)

    https://shockbyte.com/about

Bisect - Doesn't list their processers but apparently it's decent. I still think shockbyte beats them here.

Beast node - all I know it's cheap

    https://www.beastnode.com/budget-minecraft/

GG servers - There is a premium server selection and a budget one. I don't care about the futures but I do know that it doesn't list whats exactly in their premium or budget servers so I can get a great deal going budget or a horrible one.

(Going to be using a modpack.)

Dragon API for some reason lags the worlds badly.

Before the installation I was getting 220 fps (Flat world to ensure good resaults.)

After the installation it was 140-160 fps and randomly dropping.

I have 18+ mods installed and the content did not change between the 2 tests. Including multiple other API's that don't do this so... yeah what? I know you get angry easily but this might be a sign there is something wrong with the api, as in it's doing something glitchy/laggy.

    PC specs

    8gb ram

    Intel I7 3.4GHz

Thank you for the mod and I hope to see it update in the future but currently it's to laggy to be put into a larger modpack. I hope you find this as useful information.

According to Curse, mods are available for up to and including 1.11.2. It takes time to make mods, especially between major releases. In most cases, mods have to be rewritten for the new version and Forge (which also has to be updated before mods can be written).

You can play any version of MC you want. A new release does not invalidate any previous versions.

I've found that quite a few mods are actually stuck at 1.7 and it's been what 3 years now? That's a bit sad.

If it's 1.7.10 that makes my job easier but thats sad. It's as if this and the previous update just killed mods.

They are currently limited by the fact the game can only have 8 more blocks before it hits the ID limit. Hold your horses until they break that limit and they may add more blocks.

They're already trying to raise the limit I heard.

It's like they pulled them from nowhere though. Just some completely arbitrary textures in an attempt to make them look good. It's like the team themselves is running out of ideas and scrambled for something. Thats the other thing that bothers me. I will be happy not complain about these blocks (still call some of them ugly) once others start getting added.

posted a message on How can minecraft load so many blocks?

Blocks are easy to display since they literally do nothing. And just because there might be a million blocks "loaded" you can't see physically see all of them so the ones that are hidden don't get rendered at all. Your computer isn't doing that much work in this regard as you think it does.

Sort of like being inside your house - you can't see the outside or the houses down the street unless you look out the window so in reality they don't really exist until you go look.

It's the entities that will kill you - too many mobs, too many falling items like sand or gravel that require updates for each item. AI kills performance. Things growing. Explosions from TNT. Leaves decaying. Then there's the top down lighting that can kill you due to bugs that still exist in the rendering engine (think black spots that randomly vanish when you go under a tree or overhang).

I've known about the not rendering part but what you're saying is we could have massively deeper worlds and a higher sky limit?

    Fun Fact

I've rendered in over 600 animals before experiencing Framerate loss.

    Quote from danthonywalker»

I mean if you're building a server with 2-3 CPUs, and assuming you have the Internet infrastructure to maintain its demands adequately (I am assuming it is going to be of some Internet use) then I don't think the cost of power should be of concern.

If I host these servers over the course of 7 years I'm going to want to save money in any way possible. The reason for that is not going to be released at this time but it is an issue. I don't want an extra 50$ a month bill after 4 years or so eating more cash than the $2k one. Part of the reason is also I just like knowing this information and I might just buy 25 servers (115 watts each.)

Think of me building a financial report for a business.

posted a message on New blocks hurt my eyes

One of my biggest issues with the new blocks is that they could have added so many other things but yet they add these mostly out of place blocks that really are just weird. Some of you may think they're cool but I would rather of had so many other types of blocks added. I would love to see marble, additional stone bricks, complete block sets (Spruce ladders ect) that others have mentioned, and so many others that would fit naturally in the world. No they add these.
