The item is part of the game, which you can still access on your own server, or singleplayer. What I'm trying to say is that specific server isn't part of the game, so you aren't entitled to anything from that server.

You bought the ability to play Singleplayer, and Multiplayer. You can still do both of those things regardless if people charge for items or not.

I can't believe you're seriously making this argument.

When you set up a server you're under obligation to have all the game's content available for any player in the server, for free, you can't get them behind "donations". The game content is not your property to resell for players that already paid for them, doing so is nothing but a scam.

You can charge for access to the server, since the server is your property, but you can't restrict game content from players once they're in it.

But i can see why you're making this argument, since you yourself profit from the scam: http://shilocraft.buycraft.net/

Also, a protip: If you give something back for a donation, it's no longer a donation.

How are they falling to their deaths if they're in water? To me it looks like they are somehow taking damage from it because they aren't fully inside the water blocks, but I'm not sure.

I believe they're swimming off the water block, falling down to their death.

    Quote from love3509
Squids can ultimately spawn anywhere...I found one in my egg farm one day (My egg farm was basically a hole, some water and a bunch of chickens :P)

I've seen a squid in a single block of water before.

Well, that would be more amazing had it been 100% legit. If anyone finds this sort of thing in creative/survival without playing around in editors, give a shout. We must find this long-lost land!

Make an amplified world, floating islands become rather common.

    Quote from Benjamin5349

As long as it's deep or wide enough that you can cast without lodging the hook in the side or bottom of the pool, it will be fine.

I tested and you can even fish in water running down a hill.

    Quote from TucsonJeff
Fishing in minecraft is one of the activities that mimics RL pretty accurately. You want tedious...watch wheat grow. And when you harvest the wheat you don't have any chance of getting an enchanted book, or wooden bowl, or a bow, or anything else for that matter other than wheat. IMO it's worth the tedium when you consider the potential rewards.

Do what i do, fish near the farm while your wheat grows. Found Silk touch, Unbreaking III and Eff IV books so it's well worth it as i don't have an enchanting setup yet.

EVERYONE used to be terrified of the Endermen when they first were getting released. Notch did a pretty good job on his post. It's linked below of anyone wants some nostalgia. Anyways, no, I'm not afraid of Endermen. http://notch.tumblr.com/post/8208212863/the-psychology-of-the-reticle-and-the-feeling-of

Hmm, some of what he said sounds familiar.

posted a message on Chance of treasure while fishing?
With my first normal rod i found an Unbreaking III rod and an Enchated book with eff III, bane of anthropods IV and feather falling III.

With that unbreaking III rod i found another unbreaking III rod, an Eff IV book, Eff II book, Silk touch book, Unbreaking III book and some other assorted junk.

Seems to be worth it if you have the time, which i did while fishing near my farms.

As for the enchantments, Lure makes it so you spend less time waiting for a fish to bite, while Luck of the sea doesn't increase the chance to get treasures, it just make some of the junk items be a fish instead according to info on the wiki:

Luck of the Sea III Decreases odds of catching worthless junk
Lowers frequency of "junk" catches by swapping them to fish.

Lure III Increases rate of fish biting your hook
Decreases average time between fish biting your hook.

Crumpetixx is correct, it is simply a drop trap.

I don't have much experience building traps and automated stuff, but considering that items fall thru' half slabs, couldn't you have the halfslab floor for the fall kill and under it a water flow to push the drops into a single row of hoppers? Would save a ton of iron if it works, but i'm not sure if it works as well as i think.

    Quote from BiggJohnn

Is amplified a completely separate world type or can you get Amplified biomes in a existing world? This is my first view of 1.7.2 from an existing world.

They tweaked the normal world generation and there's more height variation now, plus there can be Savannah M and Plateau M biomes that can go well over y-200.

From huge oceans to huge forests.

The dense forests hide interesting terrain features, make travel annoying/difficult with how short many of the trees are, coupled to uneven ground. Plus they look rather ugly and are repetitive, gets boring quickly.

I fail to see how this is an improvement.

The geography is more interesting now with the improved height variation.

But you can't enjoy most of that because there's too much damn forest, it gets repetitive and boring real quick.

By the way, the caves that i've seen are much smaller. They actually end nowadays, instead of going for 8000 miles in every fricking direction.

But large cave complexes still happen.

Not far from spawn on my new survival world i found a ravine, which was next but not connected to another, larger ravine. That one was connected to another ravine that's larger than the previous two put together and that third ravine is connected to a massive cave system that is an absolute maze of interconnected passages. I've been there a while and so far i've used 5 stacks of torches, got about 10 stacks of coal(and i don't mine every coal vein that i find) 4 stacks of iron, 16 diamonds and a skeleton dungeon(with no chests oddly).

I don't think i have explored even half of that cave system yet so YMMV i guess.

posted a message on Why is everyone so obsessed with this game?
    Quote from makermod1

Well, it is the only game besides StarForge (Picture Minecraft Battlefield 3 graphics with no blocks) that allows you to dig into the terrain and mine freely. plus it is multiplayer. Mods make the game so much better, I have over 100 running on my server, its pretty fun, Minecaft was not really designed to be blocky, but it is the easiest way to create destroyable terrain, google StarForge if you want, It will compete EASILY and mabye win against minecraft......

    Apples and oranges.

StarForge has some long ways to go (doesn't look anywhere as good as BF3 and BF3 itself doesn't look that good with that horrible blue tint) and it's more combat focused, so hopefully the "hardcore" players trying to turn MC into Day Z (and they most likely can't handle Day Z or they would play that) will migrate to SF. But otherwise the two games can coexist just fine as they offer different things.

They both let you mine, build and have multiplayer, but the similarities end there.

On that topic, there's also Space Engineers now that's pretty awesome, just released on steam but still early Alpha.
