    Quote from alphaspike

I'm pretty sure LulzSec has more hacking on their hands than time to spam about themselves on the Minecraftforums.

    You'd be surprised.

Young one eh? I'd be pleased to find out that you were older than me. Most of the time I feel like an old **** lurking on these forums populated by teens and pre-teens.

If you're older than 26, then by all means, call me young one. Makes me feel good. :smile.gif:

Ah yes, no thread would be complete without a Stultus Saxum, the Common Troll.

Note how it uses fallacies and irrelevant arguments to confuse predators and attract prey.

    ------

Communism is, to me, not an "evil" ideology; merely inefficient, overbearing, unreliable, and is alien to human nature.
Any ideology that claims it can provide for everyone's needs and make everyone relatively equal is not only wrong, but ignorant of reality.
What exactly determines this "equal need?" A temperature of 98.6? Showing up to collect a handout is all one needs to do in a pure communist society. Nobody is required to work and if they do, they just get the same handout.
If you only give the handout to those who work, well, you're pretty much just practicing capitalism inefficiently.
    Communism isn't evil. It's naive.

Capitalism, on the other hand, is based on the ambition, hard work, and merit. Individuals who want to better their lot in life form bonds of trust between each other. Yes, trust.
Trust is the glue that keeps capitalism together. Trust becomes influence. Influence becomes power. And power is made manifest through action, for good or ill.
Trust is money. Money is trust. The two are interchangeable.

Simply, Communism is founded on the idea that people need to have the fruits of their labor managed and distributed by a mob. Everyone is equally miserable and hard work is never rewarded.
Capitalism is founded on the trust between ambitious individuals who work together in the attempt to build a better future for themselves. This doesn't always work out, but it's the best humanity can do.

Now, if we're talking about ant colonies... well, Communism works fine there.
    Just... not for humans...

This makes me a sad panda. :sad.gif:

Oddly enough, the Earth is actually a oblate spheroid. Or, in layman's terms, a round sphere flattened by gravity and rotation.
So... they're both wrong... and yet... kinda right... even if only a little...

As it's not entirely round but not entirely flat.
It would be flat (or nearly flat) if it spun around faster. Same thing happens with pizza dough.

    Still, sadface at education. :sad.gif:

You see, my adventurous young OP, the vast majority of humanity have diverse and often conflicting opinions on the world around them. Some say the Earth is round, some say it is flat. Some say the universe is made up of four elements, some say five, and still others have the audacity to claim that they know of at least 118 different ways that matter may be configured. And so on and so forth.

Everything that ever was or could be has been debated by humanity.
Every new idea ever brought forth was met with both the harshest of criticism and the most adoring praised. Likewise, every old idea was both severely questioned by those on one side of the dinner table and passionately defended by those on the other.

Humanity believes its opinions to be so influential that they quite frequently debate the universe itself.
Course, that's fairly common as far as sentient species go, but what shocks all us out here in the galatic community is the fact that the universe typically loses these debates.
And by that I mean pretty much all the time.
Even when their opponent is a senile old man with a funny mustache.

Anyway, it shouldn't be all that surprising that humanity brings both its opinions and the resulting arguments over them wherever they go.
Humans have debated each other on hunting trails, on dirt roads, on paved roads, on horseback, on sailing ships, on trains, over telegraph lines, over the phone, on radio, on television, on airplanes, and, yes dear OP, even on the motherloving internet.

Either get used to it or book a flight to HIP 24436.
Nobody really talks politics there, so you'll fit right in.

In any case; have a pleasant day, OP, and please remember that the global computer networks is not a toy and must be used responsibly.

    IOW: Lurk moar.

Any seeds with varying sizes of islands and no big continents?

It really sucks that you can't walk in the tall grass when you don't have any Pokeballs.

Notch really needs to change that.

    Quote from Damien711

Ive had this issue in my smp server I get somewhat of a frozen inventory have you tried relogging the game or reinstalling your client?

I ended up just storing all of my stuff and committing suicide (which is hard, because my server had severe restrictions on fall damage and basically anything that makes it easy to kill yourself), but this is definately a bug that needs to be fixed somehow.

Glad I'm not the only one who this affected.

I was using Bonemeal to fertilize crops, then cut them down by left clicking them.

Suddenly, the slot where bonemeal was went blank and now whenever I mouse over that slot, the game crashes.

    Really preventing me from playing.
