I quite liked the idea of 3 colours for every block with one Megaman Clause. It's different. With MCPatcher being allowed, you could certainly work around it. If I may suggest, I say 3 colours and the one MC. If you think that's too much feel free to add a second MC.

Also, I'd like to enter but make no promises as to my finishing. I'm bad at finishing these things.

I'm not a fan of the layout of those yellow bricks. Too repeating. Maybe see if you can find a better layout?
You should add a shadow under the cobblestones. You've got 2 pixel thick mortar gaps and you're not really using them.
On another topic, I made a new skin. The image is a link.

EDIT: I was replying to Unctu0usly... what is with the reply system???

I'm pretty sure the 'reply' button just tells them that someone replied to their post. You're probably wanting the 'quote' button.
I really wonder where I would've ended up on here had I finished my entry...

If you're going to keep stone so basic, maybe add some random CTM of slightly different coloured stone. Say, one block would be darker, less saturated, another brighter, and another more saturated. Give it some variance so it's not just a blank grey grid.

I've had a project for probably close to a year now. I have 25 different blocks textures, some of which I still need to redo. Overall it adds up to 63 textures with random CTM. Though, I'm not counting a full CTM block in this. That's 46 tiles alone. Then there's 16 textures I've redone or discarded that I'm also not counting. About 125 textures total if my math is correct, and I've only gotten the very basics done.

Though, I'm really slow with getting projects done.

Your witch arms... don't wrap around properly... It looks weird.

I don't like those logs. I don't know what, but something seems off. Maybe it's about the shading.

    @Everyone else
No criticism here. Good stuff. Good stuff.

Well, I can post something now. I redid some planks, and did dirt and stone brick, and now I have this.

You can tell I know how to do dirt. Also, this is literally everything I've finished.

posted a message on What is your workflow?
Well, all my textures, be it skins or packs are all in one folder. Skins get one folder (Which has so much unfinished stuff in it) and each pack/idea gets it's own folder which the blocks go in. When I get to mobs, items, or whatever that isn't blocks, they get a subfolder names 'items' or whatever corresponds to it. When I get to the point that I want to test it ingame, I set up a subfolder to set all that in. And copy all the files to the correct spots in it. (So everything has 2 file locations. Effeciency: F- )

Not counting my skins folder, I have 16 folders. One of which is completely empty. (I had an idea and couldn't pull it off to a degree of which I was happy with.)

    Palette I made today:

I posted it here because it is first of my palettes what I truylu like.

You've got a lot of colour ramps, and you put them together, but they don't fit where you put them. You've got dark brown next to pink mid-tone cyan next to grey, and the whole floating separate ramps thing just kind of throws it off.Try connecting everything, lights to lights and darks to darks, no lights to darks or saturated to greyscale.
You've also got some similar colours like the darkest of the top-left yellow ramp and the colour it connects to, the 2 colours next to colour you used for the outline, and the two bottom-right colours, for example. Then, there's the variant contrast in individual ramps, like the dark green being far less contrasted with itself than the lighter greens, or the reds or blues.

Basically, you've gotten your base colours, but you need to work with those colours to fit it all together. (And don't worry if you don't know what you're doing. I don't either. Not when I make a palette.) It's also not a bad idea to look at blocks to get ideas. Like with your lack of purples, if you had a purple wool or some such you could use those colours as a base. I don't know if I'm still making sense or if this is all starting to jumble, so... feel free to question anything and everything I said.

I say take some items down. And maybe make the bed quilted instead of whatever it currently is?

Coop rp? What, we role-play as coops? What's a coop?

It's a long, drawn out cop.

On a more serious note, I think a TAUwide resource pack would be interesting, but it wouldn't end so well. We'd have a few prevalent styles that others would fail to match, and we'd likely end up with just a few people actually producing anything for it. Add in the fact that everyone here has at least one project they work on, as well as life to attend to, and it simply isn't going to work out. I'm sure we could figure something out, but there's no guarantee that anything would work well.

posted a message on What is your most nostolgiac texture pack?
Painterly was my first used pack, but I don't know if nostalgic is really the correct word for it.
Dokucraft has kind of fallen from where it once stood, and it no longer gets me nostalgic.
Johnsmith has other packs made in the same style, so it never really reached nostalgia.

So I guess the most nostalgic pack for me is the Eldpack, which... still... only has a continuation. I'm not sure how well that holds up to the original, but I'll stick with it as my answer.

It makes them more credible, however.

I'm going to throw my 2 cents in on this.
That palette was likely made with the intent to work for any environment with any scenario. It's more of a pick and choose than anything. It's clearly not made for Minecraft.
Also, if I remember correctly, the idea behind it was to only use a section of the palette at a time. Say, just the blues and purples for a nighttime cityscape, or the greens and yellows for a daytime countryscape. When you look at it like that, the large amount of colours it has is justified, as even small differences in hue can separate one body from another.

So I guess my best option is to look to other sources for inspiration. I suppose that was a bit obvious. Thanks for all the responses, guys! ^^

Problem is I still have no idea where to go with my entry for the simple pack challenge, which def. wouldn't be finished on time anyways. Hopefully I can at least get some ideas for my non-challenge pack...
