I got it! we can make everybody happy! all you have to do is make the pre-1.8 map generation an option like normal or superflat. Also, the new system that you are developing, why doesn't someone make a mod of it, just to prove it can be done?
I apologize if this has been suggested before. I don't have time to read 32 pages of posts.
You can however, use the search bar in the top right of the page to search the topic for key words. In this case implement pre 1.8 generation would be the search. Unfortunately either you are a smart alec or you didn't understand the full OP either. How many times did it say "we don't want the 1.7 generation back"? Atleast once, and I'd bet on 3. So here you are, thinking, "okay, we don't want the 1.7 generation back. I guess no one likes it. Well people talked about the pre- 1.8 generation, so everyone must want that!" Did you think that after 32 pages of discussion we did not think once about that at all? You can't come in here, and this is how I imagine you would do it in real life: *you snap, then bring your hands together to form a clap. Then, you say "Boom! Guys, I have it! Why not just bring back the pre-1.8 generation back as a seperate world type?" then crouch your knees, and point your index fingers in the group's general direction* Lost of people try not to commit assault. Even the fact that you want another world type for the thing is a bad idea. It's been a type of injustice, the kind of injustice you can commit from a video game. There's no reason to make the terrain suck, and when they bring it back, anyone who wants to can make and "old biomes mod" if they so wish. I'm sorry, but the guys who don't like the accidental blunder to minecraft's terrain were here first. It's gotten to the point of ridiculousness.
I figured I'd put that world away so that it wouldn't change based on the new generation. It still sits on my computer. ^-^ * Raise sea level to be at level 96 since we now have 256 max height limit. Land/cave generation would need some adjustment as well as
I tried to download a 1.7 world once, and put it in the newer version, and the terrain was the same but the biomes where messed up, and all the chunks that weren't loaded in the game data were sheer cliffs, and beyond that was a bit of ocean and then the regular gen.
Actually, instead of raising the sea level, why not increase the terrain height a little, or underground depth, or a little of both?
I joined an RP server in minecraft, and wanted to make some macros so that I can give general greetings or answers without disrupting the game. Problem is, I have no idea how to make them, or where to find the area I can program them. Due to minecraft using the "F's" I would have to program them to use unused letters on the keyboard.
I have an HP keyboards (that's all I know about it), and run on Windows XP 32-bit. I don't have any custom programs specifically for macros, that I know of, at the moment.
Could someone please inform me on how to make macros?
@Siermo: We do not want plains removed from the game as a lot of players prefer them. We just want other terrain features implemented into the current generator so that plains will still exist but they wont make up 85% of the terrain.
I know, I didn't say that at all. I just like to pick on the biomes because I hate them.
Actually this is possible... But it would be very time consuming because in the code you have state each and every block and it's coordinates (if you choose where it spawns). Anyways, this would be a cool mod but I cannot do it for you, sorry.
No, no, no, no, no. we are talking about something that spawns enough, and is GIANT. Spawning for ravines and ect are fine, because they are small enough to generate before you get there. Here, you'd either have to wait 5 minutes, move up a chunk, or get all the way there and have 100% CPU. It's like adding dragons for each different type of biome into the game.
I've searched this topic with the search bar, so it seems what I'm about to ask hasn't been brought up yet. Even so, how do you create new biomes yourself? I want to reach effects similar to these in generation and beauty, but not exactly the same exact thing: http://www.curse.com/server-mods/minecraft/terrain-control As you can see that is a link to Terrain Control, a really good mod with absolutely impossible instructions for a complete beginner to bukkit or any plugins whatsoever, if you can even find any tutorials.
Can someone please give me this mod in a minecraft.jar file tht works with this mod
Thanks
It's been nearly 3 months but that won't stop me from saying that that's illegal. Giving someone a minecraft .jar no less, with a mod installed that you are too lazy to install yourself. It's easy.
I thought of asking those guys but they are most likely very busy working on their own mods. I don't know how to code so their advice might not make any sense to me lol.
Ohhh, yea the oxygen tank. Well one of the first things you'll learn when you enter Otherworld is how to replenish your oxygen. There will be crafting involved to make a chemical reaction and create oxygen, which you refill your tank with.
Well, I won't have minecraft's music on either. Only wilderness sounds, like if you were really in another world.
Well making the portal is not supposed to be easy. The idea is that you must make advanced technology to get up to the space station. Once you get on the space station you have to make a choice; either go back to the overworld, or go to Otherworld. If you go to Otherworld, you are stranded until the very end, when you finally are able to craft a spaceship to get back.
I occasionally go browsing through the mods section, so if I see anything, I'll test their mod and direct you to their thread.
i hope that replenishing oxygen isn't really hard, or requires something to get only underground. I understand the portal ins't supposed to be easy. The idea of mine (which I withdraw) was to have people craft equally difficult parts for the rocket ship to get you out of the space station. Also, might you want to include a few NPCs up in the space station? Just for fun? Maybe just copy the testificates and all their add alongs, get a new tex on them, rename the files and put them up there?
Mobs will definitely have pathing, and there will be different behaviors for different mobs; most mobs will hopefully be programmed to not stray far, with the exception of a few. If you know of anyone who specializes in mob coding and pathing, by all means direct them this way, we really need those skills.
I'm not sure what you mean by the air tank; there's no air tank planned for the mod.
I definitely agree that there needs to be atmospheric sounds. There won't be music, only wilderness sounds. Once the mod is well beyond 25%, I will begin looking for a sound editor.
Spawning in the spaceship in the beginning means everyone will have to make a new world, and some people might not want to.
Mob pathing, look for the author of Mo' Creatures, Simply Horses, More Creeps and Weirdos, and other like mods. They might not have what you need, but can atleast give you advice on the topic.
As I remember reading the post, you said you couldn't breathe the air on that planet, and had an air tank. You said that the air tank will deplete, and if you can't replace it in enough time "you're in for a painful death".
No music? Aww... I'll have to keep music on 0% when the mods on, then.
No spawning in space station. That makes sense, but if you really wanted to you could make the portal to get up to it if you didn't make a new world, but that's kind of ridiculous and a waste of time.
(make your own server to suit your needs, there are most likely others who think like you, and would join your server in a heartbeat)
I'm trying hard. Learning to use Terrain Control is really difficult, and I need a charge card to get server hosting. If I did make a server, it'd be like this: http://www.minecraft...__fromsearch__1 If not it's just a waste of time for me.
Minecraft servers have gone to hell. Now, you can choose which ones you want to join: the griefed server, or the one with so many uptight plugins there's you can't do anything anymore. The majority of whitelisted servers take a week to get admitted and usually offer nothing above the rest. Servers that aren't whitelisted have unmotivated members building cobblestone blocks with doors all over the wilderness, and griefers running around destroying everything. Servers with protection have a disgusting amount of plugins, especially like towny and deadbolt, which makes it so no one can get in and steal your things or do any thing at all. People living with you are trapped until you decide to mosey on in.
Truth is, you could do the same thing in singleplayer, NOT lock your chests, and NOT worry about griefers. Now, everyone is hiding, not coming out or having that much fun, or solo mining thousands of chunks away, which is no better than singleplayer. No one trusts anyone, and is always holed up in their house. It isn't fun; IT'S A CHORE.
Spawns are giant and annoying with a hole bunch of rules no one reads. Then, you have this giant ugly structure looming and have to find your way out through the confusing streets.
Things like lockette and factons make admins think they can just sit by and count pigs all day. People donate to servers so they can buy staff positions and become professional griefers. They donate and get tons of idiotic free stuff that is excluded from the community, and help them win against everyone else. Admins that buy into power abuse their skills and pick on other players. if they will lose a fight they just ban whoever made them look bad.
The point is: have servers gone to hell? Post your thoughts here, or how to fix them.
Okay, this thing is freaking amazing, but 5 things, unless you have really good pathing, mobs that are more powerful will just wander into the player's camp. The air tank should be recyclable, because with tech that advanced it's a joke that it's not. Your commander doesn't contact you. If he could, he would send a ship to get you out of there. He doesn't want you to stay, you're not really the best botanist they have to offer. YOU NEED A SOUND PACK! If there are wilderness sounds going all the time, like chirping or a sort of plant yodeling, it will make it much more atmospheric. Also, the original game music won't fit that too well. Lastly, you should spawn in the space station at the beginning, and choose to go down to whichever world. I like how you make it like a DLC, but why not have them craft some stuff for the space ship instead, and they can go down to the original world because they're in orbit? Just make sure you can't really do anything in the space station. I'm bumping and following. Get this mod out.
Hm.......................................................................................... Well, your game will lag so much you'll wish someone would stab your eyes out so you didn't have to watch. Also, the spawn code for this would have to be so circumstantial you'd have a better chance of Chuck Norris showing up to your house in corduroys and giving you tulips with a hive of bees in them, and then pull out a gun and say chocolate candy mess is in my pants. Bang. So, yeah, not gonna happen. And if you made the city flatten all the land around it, it would just make huge sheer cliffs that ugly up the already ugly landscape. Also, with a spawn this big it would disrupt a lot of the features and buildings, and cause all sorts of bugs. if you stopped lagging. This is not possible. Sorry.
Oh dear god, more Homestuckees and CreepyPasta'ers blowing in from all directions. Slender Man mods for everyone now... Yeah, but really, copy the discs' class file, program a new song on it, and change the texture and ID. Repeat. Done.
