I actually first changed texture packs precisely because of the cobblestone, which was always so ample in supply but so butt-ugly. However, the painterly cobble that I picked, three rectangular bricks per block, and any other options I could find, I eventually tired of. I don't mind at all how cobblestone looks like, now. It meshes very well with smooth stone, and it makes for very nice roads alongside gravel.
Ovo's pack... thanks, I'll check that out, pick it apart for my needs. :tongue.gif:

Aug 3, 2011I switched from painterly to check out my multiplayer builds to see them how everyone else did, and it turns out the server was off. Cool beans. Let's go over to my single-player wor- oh my god this is beautiful.Posted in: Screenshots
I'm amazed. I really didn't think it'd look good at all, given that everyone rushes to change their textures, even myself when I was first able to. I really like how it looks. I'm going to keep it, although there is some stuff that I have already changed for the better; more for preferences than pure aesthetics, because it really does look good.
I like my own custom-made pack right now. It's derived from painterly and vanilla, and it's a good mesh. I think I'll enjoy Minecraft even more now.

i like how everyone here has multiplied wrong and thinks they have 1000's of ingots
No, they've kind of been doing it right, from the people who have posted their blocks and such. Regardless, 1000 ingots is honestly not that much when you get into the crazy people who mine their days away. I've got like 26 ingots in the multiplayer server I just joined a few days back, in my main single player world I have 83 solid iron blocks-747 ingots, with a stack or two's worth of just ingots I have lying around through all of my chests- along with this neat minecart system running down a gigantic quarry to bedrock, back, and through a hundred-block long island to a large complex I've started on.
Iron is one of the funnest ores. There's so much to do with it; I have been working on doing everything in SMP, so I'm always low until I dig another hole and come back with two dozen more ores.

Mine is in my signature. What do you guys think of it? Is it good? Should I change it?
I'd say it's one of the few good ones in this thread. This would definitely be good in the game; mining gold for bling gear is an underappreciated line of work.
