    Hey Scuttles!
Saw the latest screenshots, just wanted to tell you that i really like the stone texture from the RPG pack, and that last one with the cracks is good too. The sand is amazing, but the old sand is more like.. sand :)
The quartz i think is better to be like white marble, for example:
    this http://kishangarhmar...rble-BM043-.jpg
    and this http://upload.wikime..._March_2004.jpg
And would be cool if you include all alternative textures and the rpg pack textures in the photo realism pack. It will be easier for you to maintain one pack.
Btw have you considered changing the wood planks texture?
Looking forward to the update :)

Wood planks would be a refreshing change. I'll think about that next update. =)

I've worked on getting them more marble with a hint of quartz-like crystal. So far it's coming along well. The sides need to be worked on a bit further to look more smooth, though. http://i.imgur.com/4rBRH6Y.jpg

I can imagine the hard work you have with this haha maybe it's easier to you if you make the quartz like opacque marble or something like that, then you can embed it into a dark stone that it'll still appear and look good imo

Tried adding a bit of stone to blend the quartz better. Think this will do? ;)

I have just a few things to touch up such as the ores for the new stone texture. I'll have to pan through and see if I missed anything else, but it's looking good so far.

    Edit:
Oops, double post. Eh, it's my thread... ;)

Just my opinion, but the quartz ore I think it seems like a crystal OVER the ore, maybe you could do like little pieces of the crystal (which looks awesome) like if it was incrustated INTO the ore, know what I mean? And this to all the other ores would be a really nice touch I think

I do agree with this and it's been quite difficult to embed the crystal into such a dark material. It's hard to reference that an area has been compressed and embedded into.

I am working on it. It was just a rough one that I posted so nothing is final yet. =)

Awesome! I'm glad you did this, because I made a Mansion with all Quartz blocks so it's good to see you keeping the same (but a lot better looking) approach to the original texture: http://imgur.com/a/xGw86 This is the link to the album of the Mansion I made so far (not done yet) and it's making me reaaaally anxious to see it in your Texture Pack! Best of luck to you and can't wait to see it up soon

    Looking nice!

I'll try to maintain relatively close to the default's overall design just more realistic.

Awesome job Scuttles! Really looking forward to this texture pack! If I was in a good financial state, I'd donate in a heartbeat!

You and me both. I can't play Minecraft without my own pack updated. =(

One last teaser before I go to bed. I decided to take a "marble" approach to the quartz. I think it has quite a few new benefits for some unique build.

Release tonight might be out of the question. It's VERY close so I'm going to try and power through and pull a late nighter. But first I need some tea and a break. =)

Early roughs of some of the new textures
    Quarts stuff: http://i.imgur.com/cygnCUW.jpg
    New tall grass: http://i.imgur.com/y5KkYJx.jpg

The tall grass will have more detail to blend in better. I'm just showcasing the shape for now. They will also those seed pods that grow above the grass for added effect.

The new stone looks pretty good. It's lot better than LB photo realism version. My favorite stone texture is RPG version. It looks so smooth and cool to touch. I can't stop staring at it. I really like the new dirt texture. Will these textures be available in 512x? Are you using 128x or 256x in these pictures? It looked pixelized.

The textures I've been creating lately are actually 1024x1024 natively. This ultimately means that I can eventually get around to a x1024 pack when the time comes. I can post a download to them if you're interested in testing such large images. ;)

The screenshots were taking running them in a x256 resolution.

    Dear Mr. Scuttles,

I don't post often, to be honest I'm not much of a fan of forum angst, but your work compels me to do so. Vanilla textures drive me to just want to blow up things. Your texture pack, however, drives my building sprees. The redstone blocks looks wonderful. Everything is quite nice, even the netherrack which I abhor generally. Please do keep up the good work and I, and a good portion of our server, await the update with pickaxe in hand.

I appreciate the support. I shall do my best to keep you building your heart out. I also was not a fan of the vanilla textures. =)

Scuttles, there will be a 32x32 version available? It's sad not to have what it takes to use the higher ones :(

Of course. I have full intentions of getting all resolutions of this pack available.

    Quote from Vajsmilan

Could you maybe implement different textures for same blocks, so they dont all look the same...? Been fan of your LB texture pack for like 2 years now, and its still the best! :D But now i see more and more texture packs using more than 1 texture for same blocks lik KoP 256x256 Realism texture pack. :P Its just a suggestion... :)

Keep up the awesome work! :3

That is quite high on my list of things to do after this next patch. I certainly plan to start working on the variations to the textures to create a more seamless and dynamic environment.

I can't take the teasing anymore. Please just shoot me or release the update. Not really images look great now I know why you are waiting to release it. But it's hard to look at them and know you can't have them YET. Man you have out done yourself this time can it get any better. Knowing your work I'm betting on you. Thanks again for the best texture pack ever.

I apologize for the teasing. This update has many more changes than usual so I want to make it just right. Additionally, so many things can go wrong with this unfamiliar layout that I want to have a smooth update.

Hi Scuttles. Firstly, I wanted to say that yours is my favourite texture pack for Minecraft and that I don't play without it. I converted the old version of your texture pack so I could keep using it with the new Minecraft version. The conversion isn't perfect, but better than nothing. :)

Secondly, I'm looking forward to the next update for full v1.5.1 Minecraft compatibility. It's nice seeing some of the existing textures re-done but I was wondering if new textures for the anvil, carrots, potplant pots, and the new quartz blocks and redstone items will be included in your next update?

The textures you've listed should already be available to pack unless you're using the RPG pack which is quite a bit outdated at this point.

I'm not too sure about the sand. It looks a little bit like marble to me, but oh well. :P That new redstone texture looks amazing, by the way. :)

I may have to agree that it doesn't come off as sand without really looking at it and knowing the placement of it near water. I think I will go ahead and create that wind-swept wave pattern into the texture to give it a sandy feel.

that might look better than sandstone.. LOL..

I will be interesting to see who this all looks with my existing worlds.

Of course a texture pack will cause building choices on what blocks to use etc.. so this will be interesting!

I will have to change the sandstone to match the color tones of the new sand, ofcourse. =)

Here's the new redstone blocks: http://i.imgur.com/LqK61ja.jpg

I also added in the RPG ferns as I like them more than the LB ones. http://i.imgur.com/Hdfcpuq.jpg
They work well with the pack it seems.

Agreed, however as I can't play with the graphic myself, throw the gravel next to it.. I'm getting a odd feeling that might look a lot a like in some ways..

Seems slightly different, but it may vary under different lights and resolutions.

New sand texture. May add in some small waves into the texture as well

I think as stone is probably the most common thing we see in the game, more so in a nice cave or something, that change to this could be interesting and scarey..

course if you change the stone you gotta change all the ores too.. wink..

With 1.5 though it's pretty easy to flip out to the old stone if people want though.

    Exactly. =)

Is there any reason, why you can't use the old texture? It was awesome. Also it whould be cool to have at least one alternative texture for the most common blocks (grass, dirt, glowstone, stone, cobblestone, gravel).

Anyway, when you post the new Update of your awesome texturepack, could you please update the forum post? Sometimes it's just a pain to search for someting, because for example Optifog doesn't exist any more.

That's just my point of you.

    Greetings from Germany :)

I just like to keep things feeling different. Because of this new texture layout, it is very simple to replace the new stone texture with an older version in seconds without the use of an image manipulator such as Photoshop or GIMP. That being said, I'll try to start making many alternatives to the current textures to almost give a "painterly" approach to a realistic texture pack.

So the old stone texture will always be available. =)

    Quote from Aarthek

Actually kind of like that one, though yeah would be better if it was a bit more seemless.

I cleaned it up a bit and drew some cracking effects to it making it more stone-like. I'm starting to like this one quite a bit.

I'll agree with you, the Stone one is really not that great. Seems like it has some shining little particles in there, maybe if you desaturate it and test it. :)

The grass and dirt are awesome. :D

    Thanks. =)

I will certainly keep playing around. I'll have to focus on the new update first before I continue. I don't want to waste too much time on it at the moment.

Here's another stone texture I was playing with. It has some obvious tiling issues, but does look a bit nicer. http://i.imgur.com/UF82T2U.jpg

Here's some of the new textures. I'm a bit unsure of the stone texture. Might just add it as an alternative until I find something that I really like. I went with a softer grass texture to help with the grain issue that plague this pack. The dirt finally doesn't look like a brownie as well. I'll keep you posted when I start to finalize the rest of the textures.

@Scuttles ETA still mid-week this week?

Looking that way, Friday at the latest. I've wasted a ton of my free time today, but it shouldn't be too much of an issue as I've gotten quite a bit done already.

The new MCPATCHER (mcpatcher-3.0.3) converts texture packs way better than unstitcher, all the textures are converted (CTM and animated textures too). I use Optifine to run HD packs, you don't need to patch minecraft executable, just run mcpatcher and you will see a new option "Convert texture pack" :-)

I used both during that long period of anger just to see if it that was the case, but thanks for the heads up. I'm using the HD patcher's converted files at the moment. =)
